  1. Blue Jays-92/93 Duke Basketball-91,92,01,10,15 (Yes, I accept that I will be boo'd for being a Duke fan, but I come by it honestly)
  2. Those who dispute this are blind. Rex's deck has been as stacked as any Bills HC since Marv, he just has played the cards blindly. He needs some real self-evaluation. Go to the greats like Parcells and Vermiel and figure out how they did it. I'm not saying schemes, I'm saying people management. I don't think it's the schemes that have been bad, it's been his ability to drive the guys to understand the why and how. I like Rex as a person, I just don't like him as the Bills HC this year. He has really, really failed us.
  3. I hate tanking. It would mean that the team is so weak in a number of areas and that's the thing that one player, even an elite QB, cannot cure. Look at Indy. Is it worth being that bad in so many areas to get that QB? Teams need to be winning, or as close to getting over the hump as possible, not tanking. Losing that much does not breed a winning culture and that's the greatest thing that a team can have. See: Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Pats*, Baltimore (rocky right now, but the pieces are there).
  4. Ahhhh....the "Lougle" model of time travel. 1998 is too late for Apple. You need late 80's. Love me some Motley Lou!
  5. Indeed. I am not drinking any Kool Aid, but am not writing off this season. I'm headed to the Ralph for my first home game in 17 seasons next week so I refuse to let the negatives effect me. I know that they exist, but I will overlook them in hopes that this team can win out and take some success into the offseason. I think some people think that you're not a fan if you don't whine about something (or multiple things) every week. Makes for discussion at least.
  6. After watching the A Football Life episode about Bruce Arians, I started to appreciate the Cardinals a lot more. It's tough as my other team has been the Seahawks for about 20 years, so going for a NFC West team aside from them is next to impossible. However, I really like Arians. Seems like a great guy and a coach that you would love to play for.
  7. If, at this point of the season, he hasn't learned the offense, he should ride the pine. I understand that Payton has a intricate playbook, but he's had 6 months with it. I reslly loved what CJ brought to the team 3 seasons ago, but he may be a gadget player for the remainder of his career.
  8. This is the kind of thing you keep to yourself. Never, ever post this.
  9. Our ST hasn't actually been bad the past 3 games. The only big play was called back for an illegal block. I'm not saying that they're the best, but it's been a much improved unit
  10. I live in the PNW and watch all the Hawks games. Cary Williams was cut for a reason. He was horrible. He was lost on most every single play and was burned over and over again. His replacement, Shead, has been excellent though. We don't want him
  11. Rejoice, the prodigal son/ one-game sack leader of the sad-sack defense with the HC/DC that outsmarts himself at every turn has returned.
  12. The rules are so blurred this year. Offensive PI calls are made on one play, then missed on the next 5. Catches are a joke really. The number of missed calls in the 3 games I watched on Sunday was unbelievable. What happened to the system? It's never been, and cannot ever be, perfect, but it's been far, far better than this.
  13. I would have agreed with you 3 weeks ago, but they may have turned the corner. Their current starting center, Patrick Lewis, has made a massive difference. Drew Nowak was not worthy of being a back-up C, never mind the starter.
  14. The Pack is still 7-4 and the ship can definitely be righted. That being said, Ice, I can see where cheeseheads are getting frustrated. The last two losses have shown a lot of holes on that squad and McCarthy hasn't exactly coached them into winning. The run game has been an abomination.
  15. If your QB of the present is a dud ( McCown) and your Intended QB of the future shows 2 flashes mixed in with horrific play every game he plays, I guess you just say "screw it" and go with the guy with the better nickname?
  16. He has been somewhat of a victim of circumstance, much like Bradham. He is not a prototype MLB, but is the best player on the team at that position, as necessitated by Rex's scheme. He is a good LB, but a great MLB would make a massive difference in Rex's D.
  17. Yeah, I'm flying in for the Cowboys game, but it looks like I should've gone with the Jets instead. Oh well, either way I'm excited to be at my first game at the Ralph in 16 years!
  18. You can say with 100% certainty that Gilmore's progress was not close to as fast as Darby's. He was very inconsistent his first two years, whereas Darby has been the model of consistency this season. Add to that the fact that Gilmore was aided by a far superior safety tandem of Byrd and Searcy and you get a better picture of the incredibly quick growth of Darby's game.
  19. Carr has found his groove. He showed flashes last year, seemingly just needing some time to catch up to the NFL game. He has a lot of confidence in his receivers and Latavius Murray has been keeping defences honest. I really like watching that team right now. If theyget their defence in order, they're going to be dangerous.
  20. I see what you did there, butt it's tough to add a member of the *Pats family, despite the splendid ass-terisk that accompanies this one.
  21. I believe they cheat, but I know they win. I don't respect their tactics, but I respect their record. Brady is the devil, in the form of a football god. Polarizing? The very definition. But every team for the past 15 seasons has feared playing them, and you cannot say that about any other franchise. damn, I hate having to say it, but the OP is right.
