  1. Pipe dreams are best expressed in long posts on TSW.
  2. This sums it up. I love the sentiment of the "top-up" on the contract, but that would come back to bite the Bills in a big way. Players, no matter how things turn out, should honor the contract they agree to. That's how the rest of the world works. Regardless, I can hardly pity someone making more than $1million annually, despite the knowledge that their contemporaries are making ten times as much. It's a million bucks to play sports!
  3. Tragedy. If he plays in the NFL at all it will be a win, but picking him before the 5th round would be a massive mistake.
  4. Monday nighter in Seattle = $400 tickets. Ugh. Although I'm excited to have a Monday nighter and be there, that's gonna be a spendy weekend.
  5. "Lay down by dear brother, lay down and take your rest...." Thank you for your incredible contributions every game day Bill. We'll all miss you on Sundays, but take care of your health, your family and your mental sanity. Being a diehard Bills fan for over 3 decades sure has messed with mine.....
  6. This is the right call. My "local" stadium is CenturyLink in Seattle. They have multiple lots (spendy at $50) around the stadium, but the easiest way to get there is the train that has a stop right outside the stadium. Way less DWI's, lots of business for the bars, restaurants and shops around the stadium. The issue I find is the lack of the feeling of a big tailgate. I love going to games at the Ralph or Arrowhead where the tailgates are more communal instead of scattered.
  7. Hue Jackson might help fix RGIII, but I doubt it. He is so far gone from what so many of us saw his ceiling was in his rookie year. And, it's the Browns.
  8. I agree that, based on performance, the team has been rebuilding. However, based on Whaley's moves, the past two seasons cannot be viewed as a rebuild. In fact, I'd say they went as all-in as they could last offseason. Sadly, all-in on a head coach who blew it.
  9. I know that the FO handled the current cap situation as well as they could, but man did they mess it up with the contracts they have doled out over the last three years. How does a team with their star on a rookie contract and a QB making less than $2million be in such a cap hell? Also, hate losing Stefan Charles. Great back-up that was far from the problem with the DL last season. A rookie should be able to step-in and obviously offers some promise, but Charles was trustworthy.
  10. Proven commodity vs potential with some obvious current upside. If you're a team in the hunt for a title, you pay a first for a guy like Revis, not for Gilmore. I like Gilmore plenty, but he's not Revis.
  11. He played with a first ballot hall of famer. He didn't get first ballot HOF play, but having Peyton run your O invokes a strong sense of confidence in the D I am sure. And, truly, Wade is a way better D coordinator than Thurman and Rex combined. He understood the players and fit the scheme, something that Rex purportedly does, but really doesn't.
  12. The Browns would be moronic to cut him. With a new regime in place and a offensively focused HC, Gordon has a great chance to step in and be their clear cut number one and a top three WR in the league. On a team that is relatively devoid of talent, that's a massive piece to walk away from.
  13. Geez, I don't get why McCarthy is angry with him. Seems like he's got this eating thing under control.
  14. I'm getting the following out of the off-season so far: the defence is being overhauled and the offence is status quo from a coaching standpoint, but a vocal majority of posters here are not happy despite seeing and stating throught the season that the defence was the issue. Ed Reed and Rob Ryan are both very familiar with Rex and his schemes. They, assuming Reed is hired, will have been brought in to communicate these effectively to a group of players that largely did not understand or did not buy into the schemes that were put in place. I love to prognosticate as much as the next guy, but I'm going to hold off on slamming these hires until the product on the field. I'm not sold on Rex in the least, but the fact remains that he has fielded overwhelmingly very strong defences and I expect that to be the case with the Bills. At the least, I do not blame him for bringing in those close to him with a high familiarity with his methods. Now, losing Donnie Henderson? That's an issue I do have with Rex.
  15. We can all feel for Minnesota fans. That being said, I am very happy for Fred
  16. I think Jerry's strolling Bourbon Street with a neck full of beads hoping someone bites.
  17. One can always hope. The most disconcerting thing about next season is 4 games vs. the NFC West. Seattle, Arizona and St Louis are each formidable (Bad record for the Rams, but they did sweep the Hawks) and who knows what San Fran can put together this offseason. That is the division no one wants to face and the Bills will need to at least split it if the playoffs are to be reached.
  18. Pagsno is handcuffed by the inept Grigson.....or so I thought. Apparently he is handcuffed TO the inept Grigson.
  19. Spent a bundle for the Dallas game this year. Going to spend a lot less and be a lot warmer. That being said, games at the Ralph are unbeatable.
  20. If it's the Rams and Raiders, I get three West Coast games next season! Short term thinking , I know....but I love me some closer games.
  21. Seattle. They go out and the NFL season is done for me. Go Freddy!
  22. I'm always excited for the next season. For Bills fans, it's all we have.
