  1. I don’t need to scroll up, the topic is about Belichick retiring, some posters took the discussion in the direction of moving on from Mac Jones. It is possible that Mac Jones becomes a great QB, next season the Patriots win 12 games and go deep into the playoffs. However it is also possible that Mac Jones turns out to be a weak armed game manager and the Patriots go 7-10 missing the playoffs. If it is the latter could you not see a scenario where Belichick retires? And wouldn’t that be “awesome”.
  2. That’s not the topic being discussed, the title is “Wouldn’t it be awesome if Belichick retires”.
  3. Come on man, do you really think Mac Jones is anything? Do you really think Mac Jones will have the same trajectory as Josh Allen? And McD is not pushing 70.
  4. I’m sorry I have a hard time viewing Melvin Ingram and Jerick McKinnon as impactful. Ingram has one sack this season (technically two half sacks). The best season McKinnon had was 2017 when he rushed for 570 yards. Both are on their third NFL team. Ingram was obtained by an in season trade for a sixth round pick. That move demonstrates a lack of depth more than anything else. McKinnon was brought in on a one year deal, went on IR in November and was brought back out of necessity on January 1, last night was his second game back. McKinnon has 62 yards in the regular season and had 61 last night. He played in the Bills game on October 10th, he had one attempt for 2 yards. If I were a betting man I’d put money on neither of them being with KC next year.
  5. So Ingram has 1 sack on the season and technically it is 2 half sacks, do we really need to worry about him? Thornhill is a up grade over Sorenson, but anyone would have been an upgrade. Are their corners any good?
  6. I have not gone back and watched the game, but it seems that the strategy for DEs was to prevent Mahomes rolling out, no school yard football. One play in particular stood out, Rousseau looked like he had a shot at Mahomes, but pulled up to contain him. Keep him in the pocket, get pressure up the middle and cover. I think it’s what the Bucs did in SB.
  7. I have a question, when the season started the Chiefs secondary was ranked 18, beginning of the season they looked worse than that. Are they now better than that?
  8. I think the Patriots will have a tough season next year. Schedule will be more difficult, they have some guys on defense getting old, spent a lot on FAs, don’t think they can do that again. As for Mac Jones maybe he gets better, or maybe DCs have enough film to know what he can and cannot do. I believe it will be the latter. If the Patriots miss the playoffs next year I think Belichick retires, he is a micro manager, he is that organization, if he is gone they are toast.
  9. They have actually changed their name to New York Paper Airplanes.
  10. When I was a kid I’d go to Saturday matinee, usually at the Riviera in North Tonawanda, sometimes the Star in Tonawanda. If it was a really good movie I’d watch it twice. Last night I tried to watch Bills game again.
  11. I hope I’m the last one to post so I can forget about this.
  12. I’m glad you did the typo it made for some good irony. You’re right not much difference. I think there are more factors to consider than the holder. That being said Bills need to find a punter that can punt and hold.
  13. Hey Einstein do the math, this year 87.5%, last year 63.6%. That’s a big difference, in fact it’s a 23.9% difference.
  14. As in Deacon Jones? Who, like Shaq was a defensive end. I think this is all the verification we need.
  15. Congratulations to Mitch Morse and his wife, they have a new baby boy, named him Shaq. Coincidence? I think not. Baby’s name has not been verified.
  16. This is the sort of comment that bothers me. Don’t tell me what to let bother me!
  17. Some of you have already said this, but here are the things that bothered me. Singletary in the Wildcat is ridiculous when your QB is Josh Allen. If you run the ball on first down and gain 5 or 6 go RPO on second down, or just throw it. Get the play called and get the right personnel on the field, enough with using time outs to prevent delay of game penalty. After the game, when my blood pressure lowered, with sometime to reflect, I think they felt they could stop the Jets (which they obviously did), hence the conservative play calling in the second and third quarter. Don’t throw the ball around into that wind, only chance the Jets would have would be turnovers.
  18. The two early Network broadcast games down here are, Steelers/Ravens, Packers/Lions, do these games have any bearing on anything? I guess maybe Steelers/Ravens, but it’s a long shot.
  19. Criquie went to my high school. Got married in Southampton, use to live in Quogue.
  20. Charle Jones was play by play, and I also remember Brody as a player. Just curious, which Hampton?
  21. “Too young”, I’m thinking of putting you in my will. Not only do I remember them as color guys, I remember McGuire as a player, watched him punt at the Old Rockpile.
  22. The taunting thing is out of control, it’s the owners, they don’t like the optics. The players couldn’t care less, best example is one of the Titans WR got a taunting call for talking smack to Levi. Wallace was walking away and paying no attention. Yeah that flag went in our favor, but ridiculous none the less. And while we’re at it can we change the archaic offensive lineman down field penalty?
  23. I’m going to use James Lofton as an example, he may not be the greatest color guy, but he did one of the Bills games this year and his analysis of why a play didn’t work was great. He explained how Sanders cutting off a route too short effected Beasley, which resulted in an incompletion. He then explained how Sanders should have run the route, really good. John Madden was the greatest color guy and it’s not even close, he was a former player and coach.
