  1. A few years ago I ordered a custom Jersey with 'Special teams' as the name on the back of the jersey. The number is 08 and still gets a look from spectators when I wear it. ---I think this is a great idea, especially if our Special Teams jumps to the top of the standings again.
  2. In order: Fred Jackson Jairus Byrd Steve Johnson These are all guys that we 'pulled for' to get in the line-up and have embraced their play/work ethics. ---It's also cool to have a jersey of a player that may not be a regular in the National media. I had to stop wearing my Lynch jersey because police started to harass me.
  3. The extra money will go toward replacing the goalposts after a playoff win.
  4. This is great! Hey.....thats me, except I was great when I was 26. lol
  5. If we bring in Pennington we can convert Terrence McGee to WR. -- Pennington has already proved he can 'connect' with McGee on a regualr basis.
  6. excellent point. I was about to bring this up.
  7. I just played three games of PS3 Madden 10 using Stroud as my nose tackle and Poz/Maybin/Mitchell/McKelvin as my four linebackers and I tallied 27 sacks!!!! --That's in only 3 games!!! I think this could be our solution. -- I'll continue playing and let everyone know what the season's results are. I'm joking, thought it was funny.
  8. Good points. Chambers still has some gas in his tank, but I'm not sure if he'd really strike fear into opposing defenses. --Heck, T.O couldn't even do that. Chambers played well opposite of stud Dwayne Bowe (athough he was suspended several games) but given Chambers' history with Chan and Chans habit of bringing in aquantences from his past, the idea to bring him may be realistic. I was suprised to see that Chambers was only 5'11'---he seems to play much larger. If we went the route of a potential veteran Free agent 'large framed' pass catcher I'd get excited over the 6' 4'' Brandon Marshall----he's a beast on the field.
  9. I just saw VABILLS recipe...simular to mine. Either way, I think you can't go wrong.
  10. As stated, you can wrap them in bacon or prosciutto (Italian ham from the deli) and skewer the scallops/ham. Mix up some butter, a bit of olive oil, garlic and salt/pepper. Melt the ingredients in a pan and let the garlic flavor release into the oil/butter. Then brush over the scallops. Place scallop skewers on the grill continuing brushing about every 2 minutes. Assuming the scallops are large, you only need to cook them for about six minutes, so 3 or four 'brushings' will be suffice. ****DO NOT OVERCOOK THEM!!!***** ---REMEBER, EVEN AFTER YOU REMOVE THE SCALLOPS FROM THE GRILL, THEY WILL CONTINUE COOKING ON THEIR OWN FOR ANOTHER MINUTE OR SO. While Your at it, brush some Asparagus with the same mixture of oil/butter and grill the asparagus as well. Garnish the spears with a sprinKle of sesame seeds. It looks really nice. You can serve these items with some rice pilaf or scalloped potatoes. THIS DISH WILL MAKE THE PANTY'S DROP! ---Assuming your a single male. Good Luck!
  11. Here is an article from 2008 as well as some monetary facts from the uS Aid website. September 16, 2008 Press Office: 202-712-4320 Public Information: 202-712-4810 www.usaid.gov PORT AU PRINCE, HAITI - The Administrator for the U.S. Agency for International Development and the Director of U.S. Foreign Assistance, Henrietta H. Fore announced today that the U.S. Government (USG) is providing $9 million to Haiti for assistance in hurricane recovery. This money is in addition to over $20 million already pledged for disaster recovery for a total of over $29 million. (mind you, this article is from 2008) Other 'donations' from the US ranging from education to family planning. 2004 Total US AID 122,257 million 2005 Total US AID 192,904 million 2006 Total US AID 154,765 million 2007 Total US AID 147,737 million A quote from the Christian science monitor "Haiti received an estimated $287 million in regular appropriations for FY 2009. The FY 2010 request is $292.8 million" Now, ask yourself, this island nation with a population of nearly 10 million has received the aforemention aid from the US alone. Not counting the UN, Red Cross, businesses sinking money into the infastructure etc. An article from yesterdays 'Chronical of Philanthropy' states: "Contributions continue to pour in for relief efforts in Haiti. Fifteen days after the massive earthquake struck, donors have contributed more than $528-million to 40 U.S. nonprofit groups" When do we stop? When is 'our part' done? --Not to mention the manpower and aircraft usage of our Military during what should be the troop drawdown in Iraq and the troop 'Surge' in Afghanistan.
  12. What would tailgating be considered? a) arriving the night before and camping/cooking out. b) arriving hours early to partake in drinking, BBQ'ing etc c) arriving early to have a few drinks, then go into the Ralph. d) arriving and hanging out a few minutes before heading into the Ralph. I would consider all but 'd' as tailgating. --In that case I'd say nearly all ticket holders tailgate. Probably close to 85- 90%
  13. Interesting points made. ---I live in vegas now and I'm sure if I had an understanding of the officiating as you do, I'd be driving a brand new Mercedes Bens 500 sl. Maybe you opened my eyes to an 'edge' when it comes to NFL wagering. Thanks.
  14. I most likely would be a 'dual fan' as I rooted for my son and his teams' success, but I will remain a Bills fan for life. I suppose the short time benefits of after party's, invites to gatherings and victory parades would have me rooting for my son and his team. Ultimately I would feel the pain of yet ANOTHER Bills Superbowl loss.
  15. Hmmmm. ----Imagine a daughter named Marshawn or Leodis? lol
  16. Minnesota is really mixing it up. Harvin rushing, end arounds etc. --Pretty unpredictable.
  17. I agree with everything you stated but want to make a quick point. Everyone attaches an asteric to the win over the Colts because their starters were removed in the 2nd quarter, and some just didn't play at all. ---With our 18+ players on IR we were essentially playing with the same caliber players (2nd, 3rd stringers as well as several walk-ons) ALL SEASON long. The Colts are on the cusp of going to the Superbowl and have been healthy (and nearly undefeated) all season. Their well coached, well managed 2nd stringers pooped the bed against our pathetic 2nd and 3rd stringers. I don't think we should attempt to negate the validity of the week 17 win. We were essentially on even playing terms and we won.-----Just my thoughts, GO BILLS!
  18. Great observation!!! We may as well trade our first round picks every year and acquire several third/fourth rounders in return. ----We seem to do slightly better picking 'sleepers' than we do with what should be 'obvious' players.
  19. If Tila Tequila comes to Buffalo with Merriman we may see a HUGE increase in ticket sales.
  20. I don't like the food prices at the stadium so I'm not going to buy any hot dogs. Lets 'stick it' to Sahlem!!!
  21. Seriously, what will anyone do once they cancel their season tickets and stop following the team? Buffalo Bills football gives every Western New Yorker as well as those geographically seperated from their hometown HOPE. Each year we enter the draft with a high pick 'hoping' we draft the next Thurman, Bruce or Cornelius. We want to be able to weigh in on the pick and tell our friends how we 'knew all along' ----We travel to St John Fisher in July and August 'hoping' to catch a glimpse of our favorite stars or 'hoping' to get an autograph. We start each season with eyes glued to the TV 'hoping' that the playoff drought will end and 'this will be the year' we return to glory. Heck, I get so wrapped up watching a recorded version of the the Dallas Monday night game I watch it as if it were live..........'hoping' this time we will win. We then enter the last few games of the season 'hoping' that if we win outright and a dozen or so other teams lose, we may actually sneak into the playoffs. We begin to set the bar low saying things like 'beating the Patriots just once will make up for a 6-10 record' -----We narrow our 'hopes' down to one game and we still fall short, only to 'hope' for next year to be a better year. Cancel your tickets, burn your Jerseys, renounce your fanhood and what is there to fill the void with? ----Hoping the economy recovers, hoping your illness is cured, hoping you don't lose your job or hoping you win the lottery? I've been in the Military for 18 years and have lived all over the world. I've seen Buffalo Bills stickers on beer coolers in North Africa. Seen people wearing Bills T-Shirts in Mexico, Istanbul and Berlin. I'm proud of 'MY' team and the fact that I have stuck with it through thick and thin. I dont stop a guy wearing a Dallas Cowboys Jersey in Bolivia and act like I have something in common with him, but I WILL stop a Bills Jersey wearing fan when I'm in Buffalo and talk about 'this weeks' game. My commitment to the team keeps me attached to the city I grew up with, the food and people I love and the team that I have supported for 25 years. Imagine how sweet it will be, whether it is this year, next year or in ten years when we 'DO' win the Big one? ----To be able to stay you stood by during some of the most bitter losses, worst defeats, poorest coaching and horrible drafts, a Championship season with a Superbowl victory will only be that much better. Go Bills!
  22. I found myself spending less and less time religiously following and spending money on the Bills and more and more on football card collectiing. I find it quite pleasurable hunting items on e-bay and purchasing autographed rookie cards from 'up and coming' stars of the NFL.. I own autograped cards of players like Chad Henne, Jerome Harrison, Shonn green and Josh Freeman. These cards are steadily increasing in value and I enjoy watching my new 'favorite players' and their underdog teams play each week. ----Witness Josh Cribbs return a few kickoffs on a Sunday and his cards increase in value almost instantaneously. Sport cards of today are not what we grew up with. Nowadays they are autograhed, contain swatches of game used jerseys and are serial numbered. A piece of game used memorabilia and I feel I own a piece of history. I also know when my son becomes a teen we can share an interest in this hobby and he will have a sizeable collection when he grows older and inherits mine. I'm not a traitor nor plan on 'jumping ship' when it comes to my Buffalo Bills; they will always be my favorite team and still cause me to get weak in the knees when I rewatch the greatest comeback or hear Van Miller yell out 'wide right' Fantasy football is another way of 'diversifying your time' and it makes every game exciting to watch especially if you have players on your roster from a multitude of teams. I diversified my NFL interests to ease the pain of getting punched in the gut every Sunday with another dreadded Buffalo loss. Theres no need to quit on the team, just don't put so much time, effort and money at the hands of a poorly run organization. Put some fun back into your Sundays. ----Just my two cents.
  23. Awesome! I'm in the military and I am 'very inclined' to use this response on an official e-mail. ---If you don't mind. Thanks for the chuckle.
  24. I was making generic comparison of the synergy of all around good parenting --- You know, teach your kid to Root for the home team, be a good neighbor, love your town and country etc, etc. --Get over it, please. I rooted for the home team, went to church on Sundays, became an Eagle Scout and now am finishing a 20 year Military career. Simple old fashioned 1950's values. Thats all I was implying, nothing more nothing less. --- I better go now, my 16 year old kid needs a ride to get weed, hair dye, condoms and a Raiders jersey......get my point?
  25. Give the guy a break. He was being interviewed withen hours of the hiring. You want him to say he's sending everyone packing while we STILL have one game left to play this week. Minus one for you for such a knee jerk post.
