  1. I agree with much of what you said....except: The Pats are aging and have not drafted well for years--they are on the brink of a collapse. Billicheat and his coaching alone will still be able to produce a 10 win team, even with injury and aging talent. and: The Fins are quarterbacked by nobody and just acquired the most poisonous locker room receiver in the game. Henne showed flashes of decency, and with Ronnie Brown running the wildcat and occasionally passing the ball, they will be able to produce points. Henne has created chemestry with Bess who I feel is a stud and has shown improvement over the last two years. --A 'Wes welker-esque' type of player who is exciting to watch. Marshall, although annoying at times brings a huge threat to the WR corp, Camarillo/Hartline are decent and with solid TE's, I predict they will be ranked in the middle to top third of the NFL in scoring. This is a team that has youth (much like the Bills) and has thrusted their rookies into starting roles last year, meaning they have game playing experience. I also feel they are like the Bills in the fact that their coach has developed a 'gimmick' offense to utilize the players talents that are on the roster. Granted, we haven't seen one down of footbal that counts, but we are all aware that gailey has shown the ability to maximize player output in the past. As far as the Jets are concerned, Sanchez will have some more growing pains, but I think the Jets and the additions they made this year and last (S. Holmes, B. Edwards, Rogers Cromartie, Jason Taylor, L. Tomlinson) will take on the 'bad boys of the NFL' mindset with something to prove and win games. Probably have the same record of last year with 9-7 if not better. ----So if 9-7 (Jets) and 10-6 (Pats) is what is needed to get a playoff berth and/or a wildcard, then we have to bring that record and that caliber of play in order to see some post season games. I'm optimistic but I don't underestimate the enemy. Just my opinions and thoughts on the topic.
  2. R. Parrish for P. Burress. --The bullet hole in his leg should be healed by now.
  3. Easley does it....lets not get too excited here.
  4. My wife and family left me because I spent too much time watching film on the 2010 draft prospects.
  5. Tequilla?.........Lendale????? ----Is that you???
  6. I drink a beverage my father swore by....a Rob Roy.
  7. Cut the guy some slack. --- I normally enjoy your postings but playing 'tuff guy' on this one is way out of line. Have a beer and chill out. ..... "maybe you need to look in the mirror first"....gimme a break.
  8. I found this as intersting AND promising... Pittsburgh’s offense ranked 7th overall and 11th in points, with Mike Tomczak and Kordell Stewart at QB. The season after Gailey left the Steelers, they ranked 28th. In Dallas, the offense ranked 9th overall and 11th in points. The season before Gailey took over, the offense ranked 22nd overall, and 23rd overall the season after Gailey was fired. In Miami the offense ranked 16th overall and 11th in points with Jay Fiedler at QB and Oronde Gadsden as their #1 WR
  9. If Easley can put up Lee Evans 'first year' numbers he can be considered a success. I collect football cards and as of yet, there are no Easley cards on the market???? ---I did stock up on Steve Johnson cards his rookie year so I'm hoping that will eventually pan out as well.
  10. One more thing......I really liked this years draft and am excited to see the Defense solidified with tough, fast players.
  11. Well said. --For years we've disagreed with Kyper and all the other analysts when they 'knock' our picks, however when you look at it, some of the 'obvious' picks that we didn't make ended up biting us in the rear. I think when draft day comes the Bills Organization tries to get 'cute' during the draft and show they can 'outsmart' other teams with MCCargo-esque and Maybin-esque picks. ---Just MY thoughts.
  12. I came back to Buffalo to visit my mother and she had moved without even telling me. ---Whats up with that city?
  13. I've Been playing and Commsioning 9 years and I 'TOTALLY' agree! Yahoo allows changes to nearly every scoring/play option.....careful with NFL.com or CBSsports or you'll be stuck wth setting your line-ups on Friday nights.
  14. I know that in the past, adversaries have said our game plan was (dont quote me) something to the effect of 'high schoolish' or 'just plain simple' Its hard to believe tht DJ was running such an amateur show at a professional level. With even an above average coaching staff, we may suddeny (and hopefuly) realize that we have our own Chris Johnson (Spiller) Antonio Gates (S Nelson) Santana Moss (Lee Evans) and Kyle Orton (Trent Edwards) and nobody even knew. Granted, asking S Nelson to be 'Gates-esque' is a reach, but our other players can realistically be equated to my other comparisons. If I told you we 'actually' had CJ, Gates, S. Moss and Kyle Orton on our roster, it wouoldn't be unreasonable to think we were a 9-7 or 10-6 team. Just my thoughts.....so don't rip me apart folks.
  15. I couln't believe I read that statement. Incredible.
  16. Well said. We 'expect' the second round pick to be a success....and relatively quickly. If 7th round WR's can produce to the same level of a second rounder, then we were wrong for picking Hardy where we did.
  17. I'm replying to my own post Visit My Website I found this link on the wildcat and posted two paragraphs from it. Interesting. The virtue of having a running back take the snap in the Wildcat formation is that the rushing play is 11-on-11 (although different variations have the running back hand off or throw the football). In a standard football formation, when the quarterback stands watching, the offense operates 10-on-11 basis. The motion also presents the defense with an immediate threat to the outside that it must respect no matter what the offense decides to do with the football. A defense's practice time is limited. By making an upcoming opponent prepare to stop the Wildcat, that opponent necessarily has less time available to prepare for other offensive approaches. Many teams admit to spending an inordinate amount of time having to prepare for this scheme.
  18. The Spiller pick is already resignating throughout the Bills RB corps. Jackson (a guy that has ALWAYS been underestimated) is already looking to 'prove' his worth. His heart as well as ability will only elevate his play. Lynch has already spoken on how he wants to "restore his reputation" as a viable NFL back. This should also increase his game (or be the final nail in his coffin if he doesn't live up to it.) Because all three backs posess different skill sets, I believe there will be specific down/distance scenerios that each are used. In comparing to Bush........Bell, Thomas, Bush and McCallister all thrived at different points of the season(s) ----Granted, we don't have Brees behind center but an intelligent use of each back is the point being made.
  19. After a 1-15 record in 2007, the 2008 Miami Dolphins shocked the NFL and eventually won the AFC East division with their 'gimmick' offense that became known as the wildcat. Their first two games were losses and once introducing the wildcat, they won 11 out of 15 games! We currently have DE Carrington who was a kicker and posesses uncharacteristic atheletisism, a Punter with incredible atheleticism and speed, Safety George Wilson was once a wideout and Namaan Roosevelt was a High School Quarterback. ---If Gailey (who's specialty btw is to adapt an offense to the current players' strengths) devises a simular plan of attack, the Bills may be able to run a hybrid wildcat and keep defenses on their toes. The occasional trick plays coupled with a dozen 'normal' pass plays and a decent running game can surely garner a few additional wins this season. If the secondary creates another year of adequate turnovers and gets the ball into the hands of our 'gimmick' offense, we can win more often. ---Just my two cents.
  20. There are alot of great points being made here about Brohms' potential, lack thereof and/or reasoning why he was on the GB practice squad. --Forgive me, I'm jumping around a bit but will address a few thoughts below. Think about this: In theory, if we drafted a QB in each of last years seven rounds, we would only have only 'ONE starter' this year or we may STILL have a QB controversey with 7+ QB's on the roster. ---Bringing in several QB's, like Brohm with different skill sets, tenure and career paths gives us a broad spectrum of experience, even if the attempts appear to be blind swings at the 'QB pinata' As of now, we have: Fitz - Career back up. Can win a few games if needed but not starting material. TE - Had flashes of decency at the NFL level, but changes in OC's, O-line inconsistancies, Head coaching changes and eventually front office overhaul have left him 'dazed and confused' to say the least (no pun intended) Brohm - Stellar college career, high draft grade, at one time considered 'the real deal' but ultimately fell out of favor with GB and was outplayed by Matt Flynn, 7th round draft choice of the same year. Levi Brown - Backup at Richmond, after 2 years transferrd to Troy, a Sunberlt powerhouse but once again was relegated to 2nd and 3rd string duties, until the starting QB got injured and Brown was thrust into the starting role where he Broke numerous Troy and Sunbelt records and performed admirably. Would we be singing the praises of the Bills organization if we secured 7th round Flynn, instead of Brohm, from Green Bay? ---Flynn IS considered 'better' in the eyes of the GB staff and won the second string duty. ---Probably not. I'm speculating that most fans wouldn't be happy with a 7th rounder as our 'QB solution.' Therefore there would be equal discussion on how we still needed a first round stud like Bradford or Claussen. Green Bay had already commited the franchise to Rodgers (whom may actually reach 'Superstar staus' if you don't already consider him one) and then they drafted 7th rounder Matt Flynn whom beat out Brohm (or at least showed more promise) than Brohm through only the first year (or so.) Therefore, to all those who may disagree with Brohm having Buffalo Bills roster potential, ask yourself if you are also 'High' on the Levi Brown pick. ---Levi Brown (in comparison to Matt Flynn) is ALSO a seventh rounder. Perhaps the stage is set for Levi Brown to leapfrog the depth chart over Brohm and now 'we' have our own Matt Flynn with the exception of not have a 'stud' starting QB. I guess I'm implying in this particular post is that nobody should post 'Anti Brohm' sentiment as well as 'Anti Levi Brown' sentiment, because the SAME situation may play itself out in Buffalo. (another topic; but surely a synergistic topic) (Thanks for staying somewhat civil folks; this topic was my first 'topic post')
