  1. I think the "no expectations" mindset that Josh is trying to embody is an attempt to avoid such a massive emotional letdown at the end of the year if things don't ultimately go our way. It's much easier said than done, and despite how much he tries to act like he has no expectations, I don't think it's going to hurt any less if we get knocked out of the playoffs again. It must be extremely difficult to have the weight and expectations of a city, franchise, and fanbase constantly weighing on your shoulders, and I think it's taking a toll on him. I think he's more introverted as a person than we think, and although he is excellent at always saying and doing the right things as the face of a franchise, I can see it being emotionally draining to always be pretending to be a slightly different person than who he really is. Ultimately, he is his own worst critic and is a fierce competitor, and I still believe he has what it takes to win us a Super Bowl. I just hope we can get it done sooner rather than later because I'm a little worried about how the constant letdowns will affect him moving forward.
  2. He played a good portion of the season with a torn PCL in one knee and fluid in the other knee. Let's see what he can do next season when he comes back fully healthy.
  3. For what it's worth, LaPorta was drafted 34th overall (not in the 3rd) and Kincaid was drafted 25th overall. I agree though that we could use more elite players.
  4. He was never an A.J. Brown clone. That comparison came from someone who didn't really understand how they each played the game and was more based on their similar size. Yes, Burks has the size/look of a classic X receiver, but he didn't and still doesn't have the skills to beat man coverage consistently to win at the X. He'd be better suited as a big slot.
  5. The Bills wouldn't have been able to fit those guys under the cap irrespective of the trade. The trade actually results in less cap space this season so trading him sooner wouldn't have helped anyway, even if we had the room to pay Allen or Williams.
  6. This guy is a weirdo. He doesn't like people that use utensils to eat. https://www.thefalcoholic.com/2023/7/29/23812255/falcons-mack-hollins-eat-hands-soft-atlanta-falcons I hope he can block and be a WR5.
  7. They were both extended this offseason through 2027. I'm not sure why people think we would be getting rid of either of them after this year.
  8. He was picked before us. We didn't pass on him. EDIT: Thread title has since been updated
  9. Ran it once and only once. Bills went 15-2. Started out 12-0. Lost to the Chiefs by two points, and then the Cowboys by three points. James Cook had an eye-popping 2080 total yards. 1515 rushing yards on 306 attempts, and 45 receptions for 565. 14 total touchdowns. Damien Harris also had 123 rushing attempts, with 1060 total rushing + receiving yards. Allen only had 210 yards rushing.
  10. Most leagues have their championship week in the 2nd to last week of the NFL season. Now that there are 18 weeks, Week 17 is the championship week for most leagues. I agree that Week 17 championships didn't make any sense back when there were only 17 weeks in the NFL season, for the reason that you described. I don't recall there being many examples where teams are resting guys in the second-to-last week though.
  11. I would strongly recommend that you push your league/commish to have your playoffs run from Week 15-17 in future years. It doesn't make any sense to have playoffs begin in a week where there are still bye weeks (although I think it's silly that the NFL has teams with byes as late as Week 14 in the first place) because the the exact issue you experienced. You shouldn't have your star players unavailable in the playoffs because of a bye week. I'm sorry that this happened to you
  12. No. He's 28 until November 29th.
  13. For context, only seven running backs in the NFL broke 1,000 rushing yards last year, and that's with the extra regular season game. One of those was Zeke and he had 1,002 yards. The Bills are very likely to be a pass-heavy team again, and between the known RB committee, and risk of injury in general from the RB position, it's highly unlikely that Singletary gets enough volume and/or is efficient enough to break the 1,000 yard mark. Is it possible? Of course. Just don't bet on it.
  14. When did he talk about his underwear? He said he had black and gold shorts on.
  15. Hughes is a free agent.
