  1. it wouldn't require next year's 1st
  2. I called it. Mayo refused to tank for the #1n pick today because he knew he was fired.
  3. well if you are picking 2 or 3 or 4 and you want your guy, you trade up to #1
  4. you're saying they won't be drafted in the top 3?
  5. teams like Cleveland and Vegas who need a QB
  6. true, but it's not a typical plane layout. it's not like that type of plane is flying another team somewhere earlier that day. I think more teams are chartering through companies like Eastern and Atlas now. edit: KC Star reporting the charter had mechanical issues.
  7. I figured they chartered, in which case it's odd they had to wait on an inbound plane.
  8. indoor plumbing next?
  9. Beane gets the credit----now we know why he called up White.
  10. He's bereft of ideas. Went died under his leadership. Lawrence is suffering the same fate. It's not like he has no control over his Offense/OCs. The game, to be very kind, has passed this bum by.
  11. So Pederson is so unlucky that 2 different OCs on 2 different teams coaching 2 different 1st round QBs (under his leadership) watched their franchise QBs careers slide? He couldn’t (as HC, not OC) see it happen I guess. wow that’s tough! He really needs to speak up next time
  12. he's run 2 first round QBs' careers off the rails....why not make it 3?!
  13. I ague it doesn't matter. That tehre is no "process". It's a business. Some owners are more naked in their roster intentions. They don't pretend there are some cultural entrance requirements or behavioral exclusion criteria (they sniffed hard on AB, recall--as they should have) to being offered a contract. Infallibility? lol--there's a spectrum of human behavior that may in theory have that at one end, straw man! But you can't make it seem like you are a certain type of "culture"...and back up the truck for a guy like this. It's hardly a call for "infallibility or nothing!", just the elimination of sanctimony.
  14. you were wrong on the Browns claim as well (you already copped to this). You can pick any "horrible game" by Lamar (or Josh for that matter)---no sane person would have replaced him for a backup, let alone a 38 year old. this is the topic. you've moved the posts a few times. one last time, let me test the depths of this delusion: would the Ravens beat the Texans in the playoff without Jackson?
  15. I mean you have to say that at this point...lol but the reality is that the Ravens had a 10 point 4th Q lead in the Raiders game. Defense choked it away. But you're convinced that had the 2 time MVP been benched late in the 4th Q in a game that the Defense is giving away, some bum off the bench is going to win the game for the Ravens?? forget rabbit holes, you've painted yourself into quite a corner!
  16. how about the Raiders game? Had they benched him, his backup would have won that game for them right?
  17. You don’t say! Maybe Stroud had a bad day in that loss? But a Ravens backup would beat Stroud every Sunday? lol ok. So….if .they benched “terrible playing” Lamar (335 yards total, 2TD, zero turnovers) early in that Cleveland game, they would have won? Jackson got them the lead 3 different times including with 1 minutes to go…..but their backup would have win that game? wild…
  18. i don't really have a problem either. it's a game, bring in any winners--- that's why they ignored his personal baggage and signed him to that contract. he's a POS as a man, let's just accept that--and that there is no real "Pegula/Bills Process"---and hope this signing finally pays off this off season. The infallibility of the FO shouldn't be something anyone wants to promote---because it's unnecessary to believe they are any different. They are just doing business in the NFL.
  19. really? the last one was a RB...
  20. you jumped into this listing all the teams "some" backup (other than the one they have, but OK, I played along with this sidetrack) could beat...yet Lamar lost to the Browns AND the Raiders.... this year! But ....."some" backup plus Henry, Zay Flowers and Andrews, could handle those 2 playoff teams, as well as 2 teams they couldn't handle with Jackson? I can't argue with that kind of thinking.....lol
  21. remember when Mrs. Pegula was described here as the social conscience of the front office? No one had a problem with a guy who had previously beat his kids mother (no charges filed) and had serially failed/cheated the drug screening mechanism.
  22. I guess you are having a different conversation. but … Playing versus a bad QB you can’t assume the game would unfold the same way for Denver or Houston as it did playing Lamar. That’s intuitively true. Everything might be different: time of possession, number of possessions, ints…..
