  1. I acknowledged that error (24 not 31). see above Defenses are still allowed to force 3 and outs in their own half of the field
  2. Thanks for documenting my posts (you decided to leave out "Josh was sloppy") I didn't say that the blame was "solely on the Defense". That was a fabrication you attributed to me.
  3. whether you drive 70 yards and kick a FG or 30 yards, why would it matter? Why would that Miami Offense yesterday be expected to have scored more TDs on those short fields than they did?
  4. there is a trend here to discount points scored on short fields, as though they pretty much are impossible to stop. see above
  5. Josh was sloppy, but The Offense gave them 2 double digit leads. They won by 3. This should have been a blowout, not a nail biter.
  6. that's because there are ads on every flat surface in sight.. including the players' jerseys. A novice viewer could not be faulted for thinking they are watch "Qatar" playing "Etihad", for example---the team's actual logo being present as a postage stamp on the chest.
  7. The networks have to recoup the billions they paid the NFL for broadcast right and the many millions it cost to produce each game. It should go without saying that they get their money back from advertisers. In the past the NFL, with the networks and advertisers, cut down the breaks from 5 to 4 per quarter--but each break was longer to allow for the same amount of ads run per game. There are scheduled breaks at the end of 1st and 3rd Q, 2 minute warnings and then there are 7 more allotted (total of 9) per half. These can come form TO called, instant replay review, after a score, after a kick/punt, after a turnover, or injury TO. Once these 7 breaks are done, there are no more stoppages needed for advertising. Time outs become 30 second ones and there is no commercial break. Because of all of this, it is rare to see commercial breaks in OT. This is how it works. Nothing new...
  8. every man for himself out there. a block is a block.
  9. my bad. but after going up by 17 on the biggest playoff underdog in NFL history, they gave up the lead and went down by 4 after the fumble TD. Then, after the Offense scored 14 in under 3 minutes , Miami scored 11 unanswered. Dolphins then melted down at 2 min with dumb penalties (false start, delay of game). Even on that drive, the Bills D gave up 14 on a 2nd and 15. They also gave up a 3rd and 19 on a drive that got Miami a FG, a 2nd and 15 on another scoring drive, a 2nd and 13 for a TD drive. ask the Falcons is "points a team could have scored with TDs instead of FGs" a new analytic metric for Defenses?
  10. yet, you can still start threads...
  11. this is penalty they should just get rid of. it provides no safety to any player as it is currently enforced.
  12. sure it was. Offense hung 34 on Miami while the D gave up 31 to an Offense led by a 3rd sting QB with 100 career pass attempts.
  13. the points still stand. read the article and the assessments of the AFC people quoted about both teams.
  14. “Bills Offense measurably better than Defense” the score also reflects this
  15. Here we go again
  16. Interesting preview: https://apple.news/AHtzyKATOQr6Vb6yxj-R8aw
  17. He looked good
  18. I believe it was covered in the “Giants @ Vikings” thread ….
  19. he’s basically worthless if he can’t play the rest is (the Watkins stuff) is proven nonsense
  20. Where does he cite other players opinions? he explicitly (and correctly) qualifies his statement with the obvious: he has no idea about the injury or if he can even play. These are his words. Now you are trying also to attribute to other players things that haven’t been said? come in. It’s just dopey Sammy speaking on a topic he admits he doesn’t know about—and you tan with that. I tried to help
  21. I don't know if Jackson is or isn't too injured to play. Neither does Watkins. What's so hard to understand here? Plus Watkins isn't "coming to a decision". I'm convinced you didn't read what he said. Here's a refresher: "that's a question if he's healthy or he's not. I don't know. I haven't been watching him." There's you opinion influencer, doc--telling you he has no idea what's going on with Jackson. unforced error....
