  1. Doesn't Seattle +185 on moneyline mean that they are underdogs? Similarly, Seattle is being spotted 5.5 points by the bookies with that +5.5 spread. Again , this is an underdog assignment I believe.
  2. Not surprising as I believe pretty much anyone who met him around the time of his playing days would have gotten this impression. Guy was known for being not so gracious then . I met him after he had been treated for cancer and seemed a bit more down to earth.
  3. Well if he is doing something good in his uncles camp then good for him. But the other endeavors he’s been involved in have not gone all that great. Wasted opportunities in NFL due to bad personal decisions and now doesn’t seem to be doing so hot in CFL.
  4. Who is Saquan?
  5. I keep reading about this kids camp stuff whenever a Chad thread pops up. When was the last time he did this? And was this done out of personal altruism or his advisors telling him to rehab his image?
  6. Matt Flynn once had a 480 yard 6 TD game against the Lions lol. He sure was a a good QB
  7. Did you bet a few k on the game for Bills to cover and not tell your family about it 😛
  8. The answer to that is simple. Just ask @JohnNord
  9. this post coming from you is funny on so many levels
  10. I recall that Peterman can be snatched off the PS of the Bears. I remember reading here years ago how awesome McCarthy is at developing QBs
  11. There isn’t enough evidence as of yet that the Bills can shut down a ground and pound team effectively . Bills defense was built to stop the pass . They were a top ranked passing defense last season . However, run defense was middle of road. That’s why Bills got stomped by the Colts with Taylor running free all day and couldn’t contain Henry in the loss to Titans. Our biggest upgrade on defense is Miller. But he’s a pass rusher . So I’m not so sure that we can say that we will shut down a ball control team at this point .
  12. I thought the Bills needed to pass more rather than run more to win based on all the pass happy posts . But for this game the Bills had 25 rushes total vs 31 pass attempts. Good balance there .
  13. I remember looking at the box score to see the breakdown months ago and just recalled that they had over 40 pass attempts . So it wasn't a guess. As an fyi , the exact figure from the box score was 47 pass attempts. On the running side , if we include Josh's scrambles, the run attempts goes up to 14. Not a material increase. But curiously enough, the ypc number goes up to 5.1 (which is pretty darn good). So one could actually argue that we should have had Josh scramble more and pass less 😛
  14. Kind of an ignorant statement since run and pass output is typically quite different. A good passing game usually is one that is over 7.0 ypa while a good running game is usually over 4.5 ypc. The two numbers are not comparable. Keep trying though
  15. Nah. Using a rigorous statistical methodology, we just don't consider the loser . That way we get better correlation between wins and 300 yard passing 😛
  16. He did finish the video with a nice wobbly spiral. He's ready for his AFC east competition. Just ask @FilthyBeast
  17. 9 rushes vs something like 45 pass attempts.
  18. They couldn't block defenders from one of the worst defenses coming into that game? Or was it really just a poor game plan that involved continually trying to drop back and pass for chunk yardage against a defense that had dialed up pressure and blitzing all day in anticipation of a pass happy offense?
  19. A fair point. It does need more drill down to see what drives the rushing success. But intuitively, would a team that is only gaining 2 yards a pop on the ground try to run the ball 50 times? Also, would a team that is able to spread the ball around to multiple rushers to reach 100 yards tend to be on the losing side? Probably not. On the other hand, it is relatively easy to get 300 yards in the air when playing catch up or in garbage time. So maybe simply increasing the 300 yard passing threshold to something higher may give more interesting results as suggested in this thread.
  20. What happened last season when the Bills faced the lowly Jags last who teed off on the passing game all day ? The Bills foolishly went pass heavy the whole day and just gained a measly 20 yards on like 8 attempts on the ground excluding Allen’s scrambling. Results weren't pretty.
  21. I think you are missing two points . One the OP did say that in his opinion the article doesn't mean you just build a team running team. Instead, it seems to highlight you cannot overlook the importance of a run game. The article itself basically just shows that getting to the 100 yard rushing milestone tends to equate to higher chance of winning compared to having a 100 yard receiver or a 300 yard passer. Also, as other posters in thread have said, the Bills themselves didn't do so hot when the offense was heavily shifted towards passing. The offense really took off when they were able to present a decent semblance of a run game.
  22. but but Peters was nominated to all those pro bowls and is a future HOF er apparently. are you saying that the Eagles paid all that money and got no tangible return on their investment lol.
  23. Anyone who is good at their job would take offense at being told that they are worse than a guy who makes way below the average annual salary in his profession. I should also point out that Peterman is statistically the worst QB to play in NFL in modern history. https://dailysnark.com/2018/11/13/nathan-peterman-finishes-with-worse-qb-rating-than-if-he-just-spiked-ball-into-ground-every-play-of-his-career/ Here is a quote for you to savor : "Nathan Peterman finishes his tenure with the Bills with a lower QB rating than if he simply spiked the ball straight into the ground on every play of his career." Imagine being so bad that your stats could be improved by just throwing the ball into the dirt every play.
