Yeah, really! Put Geno on this team and we're 0-5. Conversely, EJ in NY and they're likely 5-0 and in 1st place all alone in the division. Agreed that he outplayed EJ heads up; however, you can put an * next to that given that Rogers had an absolute meltdown. If I remember corectly, his stats when he threw away from rogers were like 7-20 for 50 yrds and a pick. EJ's happy feet and rushed throws are coachable and will improve with time and confidence, when and if Hackett shows some trust to let the kid go out there and play. Unfortunately, we won't be able to see that this year. In Geno's case, you can't coach stupid and Geno isn't the brightest bulb now, is he? Last night, Morningwheg (sp) showed how to call a game for a rookie against a bad secondary that sat in a soft zone all game...big whoop! If I end up being wrong on this, fine...i'll gladly eat my words.

Seriously??? I haven't even read one response...waste of time as I know most feel the way I do with this ridiculous post. I'd love to see your waiver wire pick ups in your fantasy league...every guy that has a 100 yards and TD each week ends up on your bench every week, right?

Agree, 100%. The hit wasn't dirty. Even the dude yelling @ Kiko wasn't a big deal. I'm sure they were looking to get their licks on EJ, as any team would on any QB, retaliation or not. BUT, the fact remains that they celebrated over EJ as he's on the ground. Seriously, after a QB legs out a 3rd & 8 for a first down, who celebrates a tackle? Totally classless. I was waiting for a player to come out with this befor I said anything, but there were a couple other plays that warranted taunting penalties that weren't called. Like when Graham got smashed and dude (#71) stood directly over him, looking down at him and waiving his arms? Really? Everyone has gotten called for that up until last night.

Agreed! Like I said in another post, the other half of the equation (for a better D) is the offense opening up a bit more. Hackett needs to cut the cord and let EJ go out and play. This, coupled with the return of our actual starters in the D backfield lets Pettine go crazy with formations and blitz packages.

Unfortunately, the available crop isn't very good. The QB situation needs to be addressed, but with who? Josh Freeman...Tim Tebow...Pat White...David Carr...Vince Young...Caleb Hanie? It'd be nice to see them make a move for a young upstart OG as well. On the other end, you need a team the at is looking pretty bad and who'll take a mid rounder in return. Anyone know how the OG's look in St. Louis, Jacksonville, Tampa...even Philly or NY (Giants)?

Agreed, just contributing factors. When you have an offense that opens things up and shows the ability to put up more points and get after it, then you can start taking calculated risks and be more aggressive on the D side of the ball. PLUS what you said.

Rediculousness...High School coaches could call a better game. Keep running the ball between the tackles...right into their strength...Pettine should pull his head out of his azz as well. The Browns O-Line is bad, where is the pressure, mixed fronts, blitzes...how about rushing more than 3 guys and dropping a DL into coverage?

GOOOOOOD Morning Bills fans!!! Man, am I amped up for tonight's pivotal match up against the Browns...who'd have thought? Looking at the 4 game stretch that follows this week, I must say, this is a must win! Cleveland is playing pretty damn well right now. Cinci was a huge win for them...BUT, Baltimore was even bigger for us...unfortunately, it actually helped Cleveland. I've been watching all the coverage and reading all articles...It's BS that Cleveland is getting soooo much attention as they seem to be featured far more than our boys. Anyway, I've keyed in on some make it or break it match ups... 1. Establishing the run...I'm a bit old school, so I love the fact that Hackett called 55 runs against Baltimore. It just sets the table for scoring drives, most evident on the Woods' T drive where we pounded the rock and opened up the seam. Well-orchestrated and a beautiful throw and catch. Now, Cleveland has proven to be pretty stout, though they've really only faced 1 dynamic back, Peterson. Props to Rice, but not in the same class as AP. Anyway, like the article in the last link (above) stated, Cleveland has a glaring weakness in their run D...Mingo. He'll be starting this week again because of injury. Hopefully Hackett has tuned in to this and will run the ball at him early and often. 2. Seems that a lot of people forget that SJ13 has a habit of making very good DB's look average. Not saying he's gonna blow Haden up, but he's got the chance to showcase why he forcefully changed the name of Revis Island...unlike that douche 'W'Hitner, who gave himself a nick-name...who does that? DUDE, you're not that good, #legendinhisownmind. Even if SJ doesn't light him up, who else do they have to cover Woods? 3. Don't forget about Little. I know we'll be keying in on Gordon and Cameron, but Little is no slouch. 4. Get to Hoyer. Nothing brings back an overachieving QB back down to Earth more than significant pressure. He's a Fitzpatrick type with the quick release and "gunslinger" mentality. We must get pressure up the middle with Dareus, Branch and the Williams'. They've got to get their hands up when they don't get a good push as Hoyer's passes come out low and hot. Here's to hoping that we see the necessary progress and we put together a more complete game...GO BILLS!

Agreed, but they (misdirection and screens) combat agressive D-Line play. Fact is, they never even tried to see if they could catch them overcommitting, one way or the other.

Eating crow on my comments about Chandler...I hinted at the fact that I may have been overreacting to one play...turns out, I was. He looked good today...sure handed, caught in traffic, blocked well from the few times I keyed in on him. BUT...anyone care to defend Graham this week? Here's the thing about him: He's fast and has good vision, which lends to the fact that he should be doing nothing but returning kicks. As a receiver he can't make the simple adjustments, his field awareness (along the sidelines) is bad, just bad, and his hands are questionable. I have no idea why Easley hasn't been able to get on the field for anything but KR???

Absolutely not! The first one to Hill...Hill made the play. The dude almost had to completely stop to catch it, it was a blown coverage by Rogers and Searcy...so badly that even a horribly thrown ball, that had interception by mostt every DB in the league, all over it. Same with the one to Holmes, albeit a better throw, Rogers over ran the receiver, never turned his head, a la Mckelvin of years past...again, most #1 or 2 CB make that play. For all the troubling realizations that surfaced in this game, Rogers single handedly lost that game for the Bills. Even in the ugly ones, such as yesterdays stinker, a guy like that stands out in all the wrong ways.

...OR, you have the reading comprehension of a rock! The post says "bring on... Gragg", because I want to see him play. Says nothing about being disappointed in his play. Not fishing for negative...at all! Championship teams fire on all cylinders and put the best product on the field, at all positions, every week.

You misunderstood...I WANT to see Gragg and Easley. That's what I meant by "bring on..." You also misunderstood...I want to see Gragg and Easley on the field, not that I am disappointed with them. The second part of my title got cut off...It was supposed to read "Who do you want to see out there?"

Chandler: A couple years ago this guy was running great routes, creating separation and making plays..usually in chunks of 12-15 yards. I know he's coming off of an ACL, but he's playing scared. Maybe I'm overreacting, but the play that sticks out was this past week where he caught the ball in the flats and rather than turning it up field, he turned, saw the defenders and curled up in a ball. I think he had another drop down the seam , in traffic, which again leads to the fear. Graham: We draft Goodwyn...Graham steps up his game in camp...Goodwyn goes down...Graham is unseen. Bring on... Grag...They drafted him as a receiving TE, but he showed, in pre-season, he can block too. This week’s match up seems to lend to the fact we're gonna need both, without having to sub Chandler and Smith in and out. Let's see what the kids got in live action. Easley...He's big, showed up well in pre-season and can't be any less visible than Graham...right?
