  1. the NFL penalty for altering the inflation of a ball was a $25,000 fine. Aaron Rodgers admitted to over inflating his balls. the wells report proved nothing and in fact absolved the organization and head coach of any wrongdoing. brady was suspended for not fully cooperating. Roger Goodell and the league knew full well this was a common practice in the NFL and college. instead of entrapping one franchise he should have sent out a warning letter to all 32 teams saying cease and desist. had the Buffalo Bills won a super bowl under these same conditions.....the posts around here would be a lot different.
  2. Andy Reid didn’t call timeout when his defense needed it Just before the Patriots scored the game-winning touchdown, Romo said, “You can see the defenders for Kansas City, they’re exhausted over there.” Nantz asked, “Don’t you think a timeout?” Romo answered, “That’s exactly right, Jim, that’s a great call. This would be a perfect time to do it. Give them a break.” Instead, the Chiefs let the clock keep running, and the Patriots scored the game-winning touchdown. Reid fired his defensive coordinator this week, but timeout usage comes within the purview of a head coach. Reid put his defense in a bad position, by saving three timeouts that he would never use. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/01/25/andy-reid-didnt-call-timeout-when-his-defense-needed-it/
  3. so essentially , your buying a 2nd round pick for $6.5 million that would be under team control for at least 4 years at $2 mil/yr. you would have to eat $6.5 or keep bortles as a backup (who sucks) AND pay $2 mil/yr for an early 2nd round. total of $14.5 mil over 4 years for a 2nd round draft choice averages $3.6 mil/yr the bills signed free agent Jordan Poyer to a 4 year, $13,000,000 contract. I don't want bortles as a backup and I would rather use that money towards a somewhat known free agent vs the risk of a unknown rookie.
  4. Aaron Rodgers likes his footballs overinflated https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/20/aaron-rodgers-likes-his-footballs-overinflated/ Aaron Rodgers Likes To Tamper With Footballs, Too https://deadspin.com/aaron-rodgers-likes-to-tamper-with-footballs-too-1680676328
  5. Thanks to Andy Reid and Saints nation, whining is the new national pastime of the 'No Fair League' https://www.yahoo.com/sports/thanks-andy-reid-saints-nation-whining-new-national-pastime-no-fair-league-041306334.html
  6. dee fords offside penalty cost KC the game (wiped out a change of possession, that likely would have led to KC running out the clock). he and coach reid claim he didn't get the customary verbal warning. the PI penalty that wasn't called didn't singularly determine the outcome (would have only been a first down, but still significant) the side judge Cavaletto and back judge Prukop should never work another playoff game for a very long time, if not fired. human error from officials calling judgement plays in real time will NEVER be eliminated. after PI, then what about roughing the passer calls, holding, illegal picks, etc....the complaining from the vanquished and their fans will never end, they will just move on to the next outrage. there are already complaints that replays make the game too long. HAVING SAID ALL THAT.....it can easily be improved and reviewable calls expanded.....when knowledgable people like gene steratore and tony romo can make better snap judgements in 15 seconds than the booth officials do in minutes, that's an area that can be improved. NFL needs a bigger pool of better trained, full time NFL refs on the field and in the booth. you could start with a massive video conferencing effort from the officials home (eliminate travel to a central location) with maybe 20 hours of classroom video training per week for most of the year, where actual tests are regularly given. based on real game and classroom grading/rating, referees move up and down the starting and practice squad designations.
  7. WARNING…...stay away this is like the cops offering free tickets to bad guys, then arresting them when they show up.
  8. For pro football, the existence of the labor law exemption coupled with the basic reality that anyone who straps on a football helmet now knows or should know the risk of playing tackle football makes insurance against head-trauma lawsuits largely irrelevant because no modern player will have a leg to stand on in a concussion lawsuit, absent the kind of deliberate and intentional misconduct that would fall beyond the scope of most insurance policies, anyway. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/01/17/insurance-is-the-new-existential-threat-to-football-supposedly/ the NFL can afford to self insure. it obviously doesn't want to, but at some point, it may have to set aside reserves. the NFL can change language in its player contracts....obviously the nflpa will resist. limited, no fault and broad form hold harmless clauses are very common.,,,,have you ever participated in any of the following activities.....you probably signed one... home contractors charity walk, run or bike race skiing, parasailing, amusement parks, parachuting, horse back riding, wall climbing car or boat rental
  9. self insure hold harmless clauses
  10. play another full 15:00 minutes
  11. if the bills stretched the rules (cough) the way NE has and resulted in the same success these posts would look a lot different.
  12. Unnamed Eagles begin to push back against Carson Wentz While he has been described as “incredibly hard working,” “determined,” and “highly intelligent,” Wentz also has been dubbed as, quoting from the story, “‘selfish,’ ‘uncompromising,’ ‘egotistical,’ one who plays ‘favorites’ and doesn’t like to be ‘questioned,’ one who needs to ‘practice what he preaches’ and fails ‘to take accountability.'” https://www.yahoo.com/sports/unnamed-eagles-begin-push-back-153413648.html
  13. boom....(just playoff games)
  14. browns having more wins than the bills was my #1 bold prediction in a couple other threads back in august....never saw this one. i'm going to say identical records for 2019
  15. the future is coming bills looking for shovelers today for AFC Championship Game. guy hurts his back, bills sued for workers comp claim biils sued by persons who slipped and fell down steps or lost their eyesight via a snowball. bills lawyers recommend a retractable roof.
  16. Brett Favre thinks the Eagles should stick with Nick Foles over Carson Wentz moving forward. The Packers legend says he thinks highly of Wentz but values Foles' proven ability to win big games https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/brett-favre-thinks-the-eagles-should-stick-with-nick-foles-over-carson-wentz-moving-forward/
  17. Bill Polian (career with bills was cut short) might have built a very long dynasty like NE
  18. yep... as of this moment, his original post has fallen off the first page and likely into oblivion. the less user on user shade thrown the healthier the forum. topics of interest rise (a select few) and those that aren't will fall (thousands). the real mods can clean up when needed.
  19. The Eagles could still place a franchise or transition tag on Foles before the 15-day designation period ended on March 5 provided he buys out the option years https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/agents-take-making-sense-of-nick-foles-contract-with-eagles-and-what-happens-next/
  20. i'm operating from the position that backup QB is one of the 10 most important positions on the team. would philly have won the super bowl without foles ? (unlikely). to me, these guys are equal on talent. i'm trying to keep both. age wise, foles (29) is only 3 years older than wentz (26)…..both can play another 5 years. wentz will want to break the bank next year ….likely resulting in philly using the franchise tag on him. wentz will actually cost more going forward in 2020. foles long term deal could be 5yr/$100 mil. wentz could be 5yr/$150.....a big savings with foles. wentz could bring back a bounty of draft choices in a trade....at least 2 first rounders. wentz missing games due to injury is a red flag. foles performing under playoff pressure is a big plus. wentz playoff is an unknown. this is a great debate
  21. if foles opts out.... philly could use franchise tag....just sayin 20 mil for a starter QB and 8 mil for a backup QB isn't crazy (who cares its flipped) ..….wouldn't even put them in the top 5 for % of salary cap i'd keep foles for 1 more year....or trade him for value......just not letting him walk
  22. drop down 3 spots in the draft, pick up an extra three 2nd round picks and then select the best LG in the league.....yep, sign me up
  23. The Bills-specific survey asks questions regarding fans' interest in professional and college sports, how often they buy tickets, their preferences for types of seating, interest in various stadium amenities, tailgating habits, tolerance for different price points in either a new or renovated stadium, and willingness to pay more for premium amenities. It also asks whether the survey taker believes the Buffalo market would support either a new or renovated Bills stadium, and whether the survey taker would personally support a new stadium or renovated New Era Field. And it asks whether the survey taker would be willing to pay more for tickets at a new stadium rather than a renovated stadium. The survey floats multiple pricing options for lower-level and upper-level seats and asks survey takers how likely they would be to buy season tickets at that price point. There were also questions about the willingness to purchase a personal seat license, or PSL, that would give the buyer rights for up to seven years to purchase season tickets for a particular seat or set of seats. https://buffalonews.com/2019/01/09/bills-season-ticket-holders-do-you-want-a-new-or-renovated-stadium/
