  1. I met Carol Greider, one of the winners, at several conferences. Glad to see someone I know win a Nobel.
  2. The problem with the spinach a few years ago was that the bacteria came from runoff from the nearby hills. Wild boar roam there and they were the source. My B-I-L worked for Sysco at one time and had a route of Buffalo and NF area restaurants. He said some of the fanciest places had the filthiest kitchens.
  3. You forgot: He had no offensive line to speak of at either place. That's where the problem lies.
  4. When I wsa a kid and before they put in the sewers on the street, my dad dug up and put a new leach bed in himself. As far as I know , the remnants are still there 40+ years later. The grass does grow well there.
  5. The local paper has a picture take on the beach in Rio of a guy that looks a little like the Mesiah wearing a suit with a cardboard cutout of MO with a Rio 2016 t-shirt on!
  6. The IgNobel Prizes and the Annals of Irreproducible Results are a blast.
  7. Thanks. The jackasses at WGN put it at 3:30 AM, So I never got to see the last season. Just watched "Get the F off my lawn."
  8. Obama can still go- as a Kenyan marathoner!
  9. Chicago eliminated! How are the Messiah's cronies going to unload the land they bought with their front companies?
  10. Only times I have been in a police station were to pick up stolen goods and to get a fix-it ticket signed off. I never was in a situation whereI was in trouble because I feared what my FATEHER would do to me afterwards. That "dude" kid needed to have his ass kicked around a few times. I raised my hand to my mom when I was11 or 12. She didn't do anything, but told my dad. He never touched me, but he screamed so much at me that I thought he was going to have a stroke. I dreaded what he would do if I ever hit my mother or any other woman and that thought never has entered my mind, even 20 years after he died. My brother actually slapped my mom about 10 years later when he was about the same age. She hauled off and socked him across the jaw. Then told my dad she took care of it.
  11. http://www.etonline.com/news/2009/09/79226/index.html Dennis Hopper is in critical condition after having a massive heart attack on the streets of NY today. He's 73.
  12. Another reason to kill 'em all and let Allah sort 'em out.
  13. His shoulder or upper arm and the top of his helmet touched. He was down. The spot was bad though.
  14. He had ONE completion in the first half Sunday! The local paper gives out grades like the Buffalo News does. Special teams got a C. The rest got D- or Fs
  15. Speak english- License plate frame. Been down south too long.
  16. How about some 2 on 1 action with her and the other woman she was putting her arm around.
  17. After the guy face masked him
  18. They also have banned plastic bags for 2 years. I had a better solution killing two birds with one stone. Pay the bums to pick up the plastic bags. SF has a nice plaza and lawn in front of City Hall, a beautiful building. Usually there are 1-2 dozen bums sleeping on it. When it rains, they go into the Main Library, which is on the Plaza. I have to look up info in the library when i have a job in SF. IT stinks so bad that you have to breathe through your mouth. The bathrooms are worse. I found out that the basement one, next to the cafe is ignored by the bums. I use that one when I have to.
  19. I think his fumble on the PR was from the face mask they didn't call.
  20. Germans love David Hasselhoff.
  21. Writes for the San Jose Murky Snooze (Mercury News), another local paper. San Jose is 3X bigger than Oakland and 25% bigger than SF. San Jose is the 11th biggest city in the US (about 1 M people), so thats a big paper.
  22. The NFL leaned on the Raiders that Gannon could be at the practice facility (it's in the contract between CBS and the league). The practice facility is about 2-3 miles from the stadium. The game isn't on in Oakland. Not a sellout. The Raiders normally only sellout night games and maybe KC and Denver games. The stadium holds about 60K and the metro area (shared with the Niners) has about 5-6 million people. We had our section to ourselves last Bills game there. The upper deck was about 1/3 full.
  23. If having the head coach break an assistant's jaw wasn't enough. the Raiders wanted to ban the former Raiders QB from their facility and from broadcasting the game Sunday Gannon Not Welcomed in Alameda
  24. Best punch at a game I ever saw was by a girl. Late 70s, Bills sucked. We're playing the Jets so a lot of New Yawkers in the end zone. Through the binoculars I see a Bills fan arguing with a Jets fan in the row behind him. The Bill's fan's girlfriend was in the row in front of him. She reaches over her boyfriend and lands a perfect sucker punch. The Jets fan went down like a bag of wet cement.
