Worked flawlessly! There were downward looking cameras during landing. We eventually will get video of the landing from Curiosity's viewpoint. If you walk down Market Street (the main street in SF) at 8-8:30 AM, you see the business owners washing the urine and feces off the sidewalk in front of their places. Businesses have sign saying "There is a public toilet in XXXX", please do not use our doorway as a urinal." The underground MUNI (city transit) and BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) stations don't have any gates to close them off at night. They don't run all night, so the bums sleep there and use them as toilets. I was walking down Market once and a woman starts changing here clothes in the middle of the sidewalk. Luckily for me she had long johns on. The city is run by so many left wing loonies that don't want to hurt the feelings of the homeless. San Francisco has the lowest % of children to overall population of any major city in the US. All of the families move out if they can.

The guys in the hazmat suits are busy cleaning out the **** (literally) out of the escalators at the BART and MUNI stations, to get to cleaning the computers in the Main Library. If they open their pants everyone on the floor will die from the stench. The smell keep people far enough away. People who bring their kids to the Main Library have to pass the 20-30 bums of both sexes that hang around the entrance first The kids books are on a separate floor.

What I'm more concerned about is the smelly bums. I have to go there sometimes for work. When it's a nice day, the bums sleep in the park in front of City Hall. When it's raining, they are inside the library, a block away. I am not exaggerating when I say that I have to breathe through my mouth at those times.

Obama screws everything up. There was a SWAT situation in Oakland where a wanted guy was holed up in his apartment for 12 hours and finally surrendered at 3 AM. Oakland had to call in the SWAT squad from the nearby city of Fremont because Oakland's squad was busy protecting Obama during his fundraisers and stay here.

I was taking Intro to computer science at UB in 1979 (Basic and Fortran). You used punch cards and had to wait sometimes up to an hour for your printout. The main computer was at the Ridge Lea campus (off of Niagara Falls Blvd. near the 290). I was there until about 2 AM. I lived in Cheektowaga, so I took the 290 to the Thruway to get home. Driving home and all of a sudden I realize I am on the shoulder in front of the State Trooper's station by the Kensington Expressway. SInce it was 2 AM, I didnt have any trouble getting back on the road. During those few seconds, I pictured myself going into the ditch and flipping over if hadn't woke up when I did.This was before they had rumble strips. AFter that I always has some coffee before driving home from there.

At a light at the end of an exit ramp and a panhandler is there with a parrot on his shoulder. As the light changed, I yelled "Eat the Bird" as I drove off. I was in Vegas and was getting off the highway. Knew the guy panhandling was on crack. This was in the late 90s and he has a sign saying "Can't find a job." Then if you showed up in Vegas you had a job in hours. He also had a parka on and it was about 99!

On another board, I have already read that companies are cutting staff. The guy said that two jobs he had applied for were cut within minutes of the decision. Watch unemployment soar when June and July's data is out.
