  1. "Thurman's sports bar" is not on the subject line. Read the "automatic response". The subject line is "IT'S ON LIKE A MOFO!!!" which could mean anything. Now I get it and know exactly what your talking about and even think it's a funny and ironic post, but that has never stopped the "automatic response" before. Just want you to know what it feels like on the other end.
  2. I'm not sure anyone who watched the Bills defense play this season would want Wilson playing over Whitner. Wilson was terrible. He never made a big play that I can remember. He couldn't cover TEs or running backs over the middle. He was basically a massively undersized linebacker making tackles downfield. Forget what the stats say. To paraphrase Groucho Marx: "Who are you going to believe, the stats or your own eyes?"
  3. [This is an automated response] As a courtesy to the other board members, please use more descriptive subject lines. The topic starter can edit the subject line to make it more appropriate. Thank you.
  4. Rob Johnson. Has he figured out which way the offense is supposed to go yet? All I remember when he was at QB was one sack after another. If all it took to play QB in the NFL was the ability to throw a ball through a tire then Rob Johnson would be in the HOF. Unfortunately, it takes a lot more than that.
  5. As a DC Jauron is average. His team's defenses have mostly been in the middle of the NFL pack. However, one redeeming quality that STL might have been looking at is that his defenses were generally above average against the pass, including top 10 pass defenses in his last year in Buffalo and one of his two years in Cleveland. This is a passing league and becoming more so every year.
  6. As long as they don't play him at LB like Edwards did then it's up to him. He's as qualified to be a 3-4 DE as a 4-3 DT.
  7. He is a shadow of his former self. Frankly, given that he's a HOF type player, I'm stunned and how bad he has looked over the past couple of seasons. He really needs to retire.
  8. So "indefinite" means 1 year? Why didn't the NFL just say so when they handed out the punishment in the first place? Were they concerned that a 1 year suspension wouldn't sound severe enough so they called it "indefinite" and then lifted it in one year? I think that the NFL was more concerned with appearing tough than being tough on this. Player suspensions- reduced/overturned. Where any games even missed? Peyton punishment- 1 year, then signs massive contract extension to make up for any lost revenue. Williams punishment- "indefinite suspension", terminated at 1 year and then immediately signs with another team. Really cracked down hard on this.
  9. Don't read the links or post in the threads when you see them. You'll be doing everyone a favor, including yourself apparently. Win-Win. Again, if it's too much work to click a button then why do it? Just so you can B word?
  10. I wonder if it's possible to post anything on this board without getting flamed. This is just a link so the title get's flamed. Classic. In regards to the material at hand, my personal favorite was the Dallas - Pittsburgh SB that he lists as number 3. That game had an Ali - Frazier feel to it. Both teams coming off recent championships and clearly the two best teams of that era. The game was not bad either with a classic Staubach led Cowboys rally falling just short. Given the short memories of most of these lists just the fact that it's so high all these years later shows how memorable it was.
  11. I believe that this is also known as a matchup zone and I don't think it's that new to the NFL. I see other teams using it alot and I seem to remember a fair amount of it with the Bills under Perry Fewell. Here's more information that you ever wanted to know on the subject: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8428129/dick-lebeau-evolution-coverage-tactics-zone-blitz

  13. Wtf does anybody need a house like that for? Is it just to show everyone how big his wallet is or is it to make up for how small something else is?
  14. It's Mayhem time in Cincinnati.
  15. It's surprising that the Bills won 6 games last season when 23 of their top 26 players are either "great" or "good". On one of the worst defenses in the history of the franchise, 12 out of the top 13 players are "great" or "good"? I think your methodology needs to be re-examined.
  16. And Chan was so good and getting the most out of his talent that he went 16-32 over 3 years and was fired.
  17. He does look slow, but oddly still effective. If anyone should've been able to take advantage of him it was NE with their passing game over the middle. I think he's doing it with mirrors. Maybe SF speed will expose him.
  18. I heard that Lee is going to try and get Sanchez to start throwing left handed to improve his mechanics.
  19. Patriots and 49er are going through. Easily. 10+ point spreads for each team.
  20. I can see how the press might be a little put off by the way the Bills are interacting with them. I thought the press conference announcing the hire was anything but open and the marketing of the new staff has definitely been carefully choreographed. I don't think it will be long before reporters are pining for Chan Gailey and Dick Jauron with their frank assessments of how they are failing.
  21. Me too. End to the running game problems and Revis + Gilmore + Byrd means one of the best secondaries in the NFL in the passing age. OK. Willis & Boldin.
  22. It would be nice to update the concession stands and the bathrooms, but I have to confess that the renderings are not all that inspiring. There's nothing in all the jagged shapes and glass that says "football" or "buffalo" or even "sporting event" to me. It looks pretty generic and relatively cheap without any "wow that's cool" ideas. Wouldn't it be great if they went for the brass ring and build a new top of the line facility and forget putting lipstick on this pig?
  23. Was that shaking some coaches hand after a game?
  24. If allowing 35 points and 400 yards of offense, and 31 points and 350 yards of offense qualifies as "shut down" in this day and age then I think the OPs point is obviously made.
