  1. Wagers not necessary...You have your opinion and I have mine. Here a link to CJ's stats, I hope I copied it properly so you can view all categories and opponents.BTW 5.9 yds/carry is not bad for a career stat and if used properly he could be a very dangerous weapon for the Bills. http://clemson.rivals.com/cviewplayer.asp?Player=63958 p.s.- the browser defaults to the 2008 season click the headings for '09 and each offensive category to view total stats.
  2. Exactly my point...thank you. The second year in the league is where the team expects results from the last draft.
  3. WOW...I'll refer back to this comment after this season. I beg to differ, Spiller has a much better upside and track record of success playing at Clemson. His rookie year was a feeling out process from the coaching staff, CG had an off-season to scheme to his skill set. He has too much talent and desire not to be an impact player in this offense. I always refer to Marv Levy's approach to the rookie impact in the league, the second year growth is what's important.
  4. +1 I was like you after the draft I went to Penn States website to see who his sacks were against and plus I watched a few games (Iowa& USC)and he really didn't impress me at all. I was wondering what was all the hype about this guy at the combine. OBD really dropped the ball with this one, I am not gonna continue to beat the guy up. He tries, he's just not good enough at this level...he was drafted about 4-5 rds to early (not his fault).
  5. I agree but don't forget the agents who'll have to wait 5 yrs to cash in on there prime rookie/s.
  6. +1,000,000 I've always chuckled when I heard that NYC is draining the resources from the rest of the state... Every local municipality in this region has done nothing but guard their own kingdom while the help has robbed the house. The winners are the old money men who've done a wonderful job of discouraging grown in this region with petty politics and small town mentality ...I really believe the mind set here would f*#k up a one car funeral
  7. Good point but I copied and responded to the response about a stadium in DT Buffalo...
  8. There ample space to build in the city, here's a though use the lots near HSBC & build out from there (like other cities) KC, Cleveland, Philly, Dallas and Pittsburg. Its amazing how creative you can become when you open your mind, also keep in mind the experience and options visiting spectators will have in a sports entertaining district that offer sports bars & restaurant, etc. along the way to there walk the stadium...as opposed to having to wonder where to go for entertainment while here for a couple day visit.
  9. Thank you...a voice of reason and all points included. WNY has many options if a regional approach could ever be used. Here's a concept create downtown Buffalo for your sport entertainment and include the best restaurants (family owned or chain)& sports bars along the strip to this section (think 5 block walk). Regional plan funnels major conventions to NF to use all the resources described, ties both regions with the Marta type rail subway system, commute either way would be 20 mins maxs (unheard of in major cities). Line the route down the 190 from Buff to NF with high rise apt complexes & hotels and various artistic features. We need collaborative efforts to sell this region, i do concede that the majority of the conventions would have to come during the summer & fall seasons when it is absolutely wonderful to be in this area.Since we're dreamin I may as well add my 2 cents.
  10. I would love to get Castonzo or Carimi in the 2nd rd, I think the former is gonna be a LT for a longtime in the league. My top 3 would look like this; 1) Quinn- N. Carolina DE/OLB 2) Castonzo- BC, LT or Carimi-Wisc, RT 3)Taylor- Baylor,DT or Austin-N. Carolina, DT
  11. +1 Note: Donte there is no need to try to reason with some fans because some are ignorant to the day to day ways of pro football or they down right don't understand this is a business. You only have a small window to get paid and NFL contracts are not guaranteed, btw I don't think your at the point in your career to get top 5 dollars but I also don't know what this staff requires from your position. But you've definitely showed the leadership required and committment to this team and the city, so I hope you return and thank you for being a team player.
  12. IN the event Fairly and Bowers are off the board with pick 3. I'd trade down to pick 6 -10 and take OL- Anthony Constanzo from BC. Then get playmakers for the defense esp at the LB position & D-line.
  13. Wow this is really disturbing trend in these parts I see you guys are gonna take the victim role regardless Now each team above us has the same wants and needs right?
  14. Great because I really dont think he's ready, same as Locker did previously. Next year will define Luck better they are graduating a few lineman, plus this year is his first of being the man...good start but lets see more before making him the next franchise savior.
  15. +1 Please with this guy if he falls to the 3rd pick, then yeah we grab him thats about it (PERIOD). You can't tell me that Stanford dominated Va. Tech because of Luck tho, superior coaching, discipline and talent prevailed. And not just at the QB position btw, hell their no name running backs avg 30 yd per carry ( is he the next A. Peterson?). C'mon Va. Tech is a small, fast defense that was dominated at the LOS and became susceptible to the play action pass. Tell me how many of those passes were actually fit in a tight window (his throwing motion at times look like a shot put), believe me I think Luck is a heck of a prospect but please get off his tip. And may I add that until the 2nd half most of those early pass were (should I say) check-downs. You even heard Grudin say he wanted to see Luck challenge them down the field because in the first half there were opportunities.
  16. Thanks, yes D. Harris- Jets. OBD has to start spending for quality FA's, no more career journyman.
  17. +1 I too hope Batten is a find but if he contribute next year on ST would be great. Listening to Gailey season ending PC, I can see Merriman (if healthy, BIG IF) playing situational pass rusher. But we really need at least a FA ILB & hopefully a playmaker in the draft to make this a decent unit. MY WISHLIST FOR DEFENSE: OLB- Merriman, Moats ILB- Poz, FA- D. Martin (Jets) I would like to start off with Merriman initially then play the 2 or 3 rd pick at OLB (hopefully Akeem Ayers)and use the former situationally or in the multi sets that Gailey spoke of...
  18. Unfortunately that's what happens when you use the 3-4 under tackle formation ( KW is not stacking,he's still penetrates)if you have a smallish DT he has to make the tackle at the LOS because he's literally 1 on 1 with the lineman. Now when he's combo blocked your ILB has to be instinctive & read the hole. But in the under tackle formation you sacrifice the ILB's to the opposing OL. That's why most teams use bigger stacking ILB's (250-260+ lb range) in that formation, plus when one of the ILB takes on the block the other has to be able to read their keys and also be instinctive in the hole. If we're gonna stick with this formation in run situations KW has to move out of there or we have to get bigger at the position. I think the plan next year is to go 4-3 on run downs and the 3-4 under tackle in passing situations to disguise the rush LB, still in all we need instinctive LB's at all positions (playmakers)that can get off a block.
  19. Listen the players your talking about are talent rich and poor in character. Case in point here w/ R. White....you want leaders and winners in the locker room. These 2nd tier guys that will come only to get PT, can please stay away. You want WINNERS (R. White, D. Brees) Players that want to put a franchise on their shoulders and lead and not because of the glamour & glitzs. STAY AWAY, NO LOSERS The payroll is obscured by the fact that Buffalo uses the cash to the gap, so when your looking at the payroll its year-to-year. Last yr OBD was 20-30mil under the cap. So we should demand that if they spend IMO over-spend for impact starters as opposed to journeyman FA's (A.Davis, the bum from Miami forgot his name)at least let them be starters from somewhere... There a reason this region has stayed stagnant or even recessed but that because of status quo and the old guard protecting their good ole boy network...They'll be gone soon also, thats another story for a different day.
  20. EXCUSE MY RANT BUT I HAVE TO VENT HERE I dont know about anyone else here but im sick & tired of posters knocking down this city. Their are a hand full of jobs in the NFL, these guys know their careers are short, there gonna go where the money is point blank. If Green Bay can get quality FA's so can we...The Bills have saved a lot of money these past few year, lets put the pressure on them to spend some (on quality FA & not journeyman FA). If we continue to knock the city & franchise, we're fulfilling the fate. It's time we quit the "Woo Its Me " mind-set...And get in the game!!! SOUNDS LIKE A BUNCH OF LOSERS, GET OUTTA MY TOWN!!!!
  21. The play your talking about happened against a OT from Green Bay, it was Chad Clifton.
  22. A friendly corrections but I understand where your coming from. Also Chicago's game was counted as a home game played in Toronto.
