We seem to forget that private ventures outside of sports get tax benefits all the time. We hear far more whining for those benefits about sports franchise but if Xerox, IBM, or Wind stream want tax breaks to setup shop there are very few vocal critics. There is a double standard and I am not sure why that is.

I wonder if they will just open the roof and see how that plays out. I am pretty sure the Rogers Center has a retractable roof ... doesn't it? I thought that this was a good compromise but again one of the reasons of the deal gave buffalo the rights to Toronto ... so making it a neutral site may not be what the Bills want.

This is one of the biggest issues in hiring new HC in my opinion. I know that a HC wants total control but when a certain segment of the team works well the GM should tell a new hire: "Hey, the Defense(or Offense) is the best performing segment of our team, We are keeping all the coaches and the players. Your job is to keep that going and fix the Offense(or Defense)." The defense was good and just on the field too long in the Jauron era and the special teams was also good. Had we kept Fewell and April just imagine how much better those year would have been.

Not sure about this hire I was hoping for Wade …. but from what I have been reading I liking more and more. I see a lot of people saying he was not great as a HC, and while I agree, but as HC he has more trips to the post season then any coach we have had since Wade

It is surprising we have not heard a named leaked as to who the outside name is. Especially; after the onslaught of tweets about who the Browns were looking at and interview for HC.

I am not sure that is true ... I have heard Polian say he loved it in Buffalo and might consider returning, if the opportunity presented itself. Chan basically wanted to stay and would probably return too but it would be awkward at the moment. I think fans might make more of the bad blood then people around the NFL. The only person I think may really not like Buffalo is Donahue.

No you are suppose to do your due diligence before you fire your head coach. That is why every other team has already hired coaches. The FO should have a list of names and have the vetted even before the first interview. I do not disagree with you that this is a lifetime opportunity, however, that does not make the coaching search look any less bush league when compared the how other teams perform coaching searching. This issue goes back to last year when they did the same sort of search and ended with Chud.

Gase was their #1 target, and probably McDaniel second. At the moment it may be who they are hoping for but that doesn't make him there #1 target from the beginning. Also, this seems basically like what played out last year with Chud, they waited so long that every other candidate was chosen our refused an interview. I really don't know how anyone would want that job unless they were desperate or with a clause that states if I get fired after one year I get a x amount bonus of the staff and myself(above what is left on my contract).

While he had trouble in the playoffs I would contend Marty Schottenheimer is up there as one of the greatest coaches of all time. Three Different teams he made into contenders.
