  1. What are you even arguing at this point bro? What do announcers have anything to do with this - in your warped mind you said EJ played tougher defenses. Facts prove otherwise. Detroit is best defense we've played so far, and the Vikings and Pats are both better defensively than Miami/Chicago (pts/game). So EJ played San Diego which is ranked #3 - and we saw what happened. Your post was factually incorrect. It was based on opinions (yours) and those opinions were factually wrong - much the same way your opinions on Orton are wrong.
  2. Yeah i remember that play. The broadcasters were actually calling it before the play happened b/c Dixon was just huffing away with his hands on his hips. Hard to blame the guy b/c he's just not used to getting that work load. He probably couldn't even see straight at that point.
  3. Yeah man, lets hope for good things. He has a 4.6 career ypc. I'm actually pretty excited to see what he and Dixon can do as a duo. Dixon was effective yesterday in spurts but he clearly was winded as the game went on.
  4. Not sure what world you live in but Pats and Vikings are both top 15 defenses (pts/game) and are both ranked higher than Miami and Chicago according to NFL.com. Keep living in your warped fantasy land though. Oh yea - and detroit is #2 Defense Pts/game. Best defense we've gone up against this season.
  5. I don't think the run games struggles are Orton's fault. The run game was struggling under EJ too. The run game's struggles fall on this crap O-line. In 2 games under EJ this year we didn't reach 100yds rushing. That only happened a handful of times all of last season. We haven't rushed for 100yds in 3 games this season. Pitiful for this team and that's on the O-line.
  6. yeah i'm actually pretty excited to see Bryce Brown play. From what i've seen (couple of games on the Eagles) he looks like a slightly slower Spiller but possibly with better vision.
  7. I personally like EJ a lot and want him to succeed. I'll root my ASS off for EJ if (when) he goes in there again. But facts are facts: our passing game is much much better with Orton. We just need to get our run game going to balance things out.
  8. With the Eagles he had some huge games. The potential is there. Unfortunately (I could be wrong) he may have a fumbling problem - not sure where I read that. Correct me if i'm wrong.
  9. It's going to be a tough task, but we're going to have to run the ball somehow. We can't just have Orton go back to pass 40 times. He'll get sacked another 6 times w/ a fumble probably vs. the Jets. Lets hope that the Jets somehow overlook our run game now w/o CJ/FJ and go in more confident then they should.
  10. EJ is 1-4 in games where the Bills don't rush for 100yds. Let the Bills rush for 200yds w/ Orton at QB (like they did many times last season) and then lets compare. It's simple: Orton is going to get sacked more b/c he throws more - especially with a horrible O-line. Even with those sacks, this is the most effective passing attack we've had in a long, long time. It's unfortunate that we now can't run the ball.
  11. Look at the bright side: We're due for a game where we don't have 4 turnovers. We lead the league in Sacks. Are tied for 1st in rush defense (3.2 ypc). Keys to the game vs. the Jets. Stop their run. Pressure Geno. We do both REALLY REALLY WELL. NFL leading well. Orton > Geno. Close game though b/c of our O-line, no CJ/FJ, and it's a rivalry game. 17-13 Bills.
  12. Exactly - same mentality though. They have extra time to think about their 1-6 record. ( i couldn't find the stat for their record after a thursday night game)
  13. EJ season QBR: 19.
  14. Fun fact: The Jets have only won once after a Bye during the Rex Ryan era. BRING IT.
  15. Good post. Further: Something else that is critically important to not overlook: Orton gives a chance to win without an effective running game. Against the Vikings we had a rushing total of 118yds (of which almost half came on a single run by spiller – 53yds). Not consistently effective. Win. Against the Pats we had 68yds total rushing – pathetic. We were within 1 score of the Pats late in the 4th quarter. Loss. Against the Lions we had 49yds total rushing – pathetic. Win. With EJ: Against the Texans we had 96 total rushing yards. Not effective. Loss. Against the Chargers we had 87 total rushing yards. Not effective. Loss. Against the Dolphins we had 113 total rushing yards. Not awesome b/c CJ had a big run this game too for 47yds so we weren’t consistently running the ball well. Win Against the Bears we had 193 rushing yards. Good day rushing. Win Going back to last year, in games where EJ played and we didn’t run for 100yds: Bills/Steelers – Loss (destroyed) Bills/Jets – Win Bills/Bucs – Loss (destroyed) And then there were games where we rushed for almost 200yds and STILL lost (like against the Falcons). So based on my observation: EJ is 1-4 in games where we don’t rush for at least 100yds. In limited play, Orton is 1-1. Obviously a very limited sample for Orton, but something to keep an eye on going forward. What I can say is this: Orton is not getting HALF the running help Bills QB’s got last season. It was disheartening going back over the games last season b/c there were 4-5 games where we rushed near or OVER 200yds in a game. God we were so good at running and now look at us.
  16. you may be right but I don't recall Pears being this bad when he played RT. He was average at best, but he wasn't a liability. LG and RT are a liability. And Pears at RG is a liability.
  17. I hear what you're saying man, but no way do you move a proven player (Glenn) to accommodate an unproven rookie who is underperforming, too late in the game for that IMO. If he wants to experiment with that maybe do it next year during training camp. The fix is simple: Pears - RT; Urbik - LG; Hairston RG. It can't possibly be any worse - only one way to go and that's up.
  18. I agree man. For the life of me I don't understand how Marrone can be so quick to pull EJ (which i'm 100% in agreement with) but at the same time refuses to pull the two rookies from the OL. It's not like we have other young guys backing them up - we have experienced NFL players who may be no more than average OL in the NFL, but they're definitely not as bad as these two guys. They're the #1 liability on this team - BY FAR. The move to make is clear Marrone - make it. Glenn / Urbik / Wood / Hairston / Pears should be the Oline. Or if he's dead set on Pears at RG, then just keep him there and put Hairston at RT..but man do SOMETHING.
  19. Really sucks losing CJ and especially FJ but at least we have some depth. Lets see what he can do:
  20. There are a lot of angry/depressed people in the world i suppose.
  21. Exactly. The only thing that kept the Vikings in the game were the turnovers, especially in the red zone. It's not like the Vikings out-played us and you were demoralized b/c of it. We kept them in the game with our own mistakes. Simple as that. Other years we lose this game by +10 points.
  22. I agree. I'm sure a lot of people also lose $$ betting spreads or get screwed in their pick 'em pools. There is absolutely no explanation for the level of anger some posters have after the team WINS and is currently at 4-3.
  23. AMAZING how much hate people have towards players and/or the team in general after a WIN. Makes you wonder how much $$$ people lose each week placing bets they can't afford.
  24. Really bummed out about spiller. Hopefully FJ can make it back shortly after the bye but spiller has to be done for season. Lets see what Brown can do
  25. Excellent post. Every week is 100% different. You get a win playing like crap thats a bonus. You think the pats are looking back at that Oakland game now? Theyre laughing it off. Fair point. But lets be real, if we didnt carry the extra kicker, the other player we'd carry wouldnt be another RB so the point is moot.
