Interesting note about the final play
bobobonators replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to some, that play never happened. Orton threw a pick six and we lost that game. -
Good point about Fisher - that division has some of the best coaches in the league too, IMO. Harbaugh - beast. Carroll - beast; Fisher - very good; Arians - very good. There isn't a single "Marrone" in that division.

Card are legit in my mind. They should have made the playoffs last year at 10-6. That defense is NASTY. The offense is good enough. They are for real. 49ers are still a top 10 team IMO. Losing in Denver in primetime in a game where Peyton was going to break an NFL record, I expected a dominant Denver win. I wouldn't be embarrassed about that loss - they never had a chance. The Rams have been in many games and are showing signs. The Hawks are struggling a bit but I think they'll come around eventually and probably finish 10-6. I actually think it's a pretty good division. I can see 3 of those 4 teams with a winning record to finish the season.

For the 100th time. We just lost our two starting RB's - the heart and soul of the offense in FJ. Vegas does not take that lightly until we prove that we can run the ball w/o them. I mean we just played a Vikings team at home and the line was what, us giving 4 points? 4.5 points? And that was with CJ and FJ prior to the game. For Vegas, this line is a no brainer. The point of setting a line is to have bets on both sides of the spread. That would not happen if the Bills were giving points in this game. The line will probably move even more with us getting more points IMO. 1. critical Injuries for bills. 2. Road divisional game where we normally struggle in ny. 3. We havent covered last two weeks. We'll see what it is come friday.

+1. And that's why i don't understand the entire debate. There is no debate. You want to improve the rest of the team/offense, improve the O-line b/c that's the only thing left to improve. Orton is the best option we have at QB right now, hands down. What is there to debate? We can resume this convo in the off season.
-
yeah i completely agree with you about Rex and the Jets being up/down, i'm just saying that the only reason Vegas has us as underdogs (which in actuality we aren't b/c home team usually gets 3 points anyway) is that we just lost our 2 starting RB's. Vegas sees us as one-dimensional going on the road vs. a good Jets D. Vegas isn't dumb. They're saying this game is essentially 50/50. And they may be right. Hard to argue against that. That being said, I'll probably take the Bills getting the points. I feel we match up pretty well: we lead the league in sacks and we're going up against a QB who turns the ball over quite a bit. We're #1 in the league vs. the run (ypc) and the Run is the Jets strength. Our passing attack is better than our running attack right now, and that matches up well against the Jets' weaker pass D compared to their run D. So yeah, I'll take the Bills getting.

yes.

I understand that, but man this team looks horrible. last year was not an outlier apparently - this team is spiraling out of control.
-
Me too. Don't be surprised if the line moves even more as the week goes on. I can see a lot of people thinking the Jets will win this game. A lot of people outside of Buffalo see FJ and CJ as the face of the bills (and rightfully so, especially with FJ). I can see the line moving to us getting 5 points or so.
-
You think Mike Smith gets fired this season? I think this is the year. I'm calling it now: Rex Ryan will coach the Falcons next season.
-
When you lose both starting RB's, Vegas isn't going to make you a 7 point favorite against anyone. We're 4-3 w/them, so Vegas is probably questioning what we'll be without them. Plus it's a road divisional game (home team usually gets 3 points anyway). I don't understand why people are surprised about the line. Jets also just came off of a last minute loss vs. teh Pats when they were 10pts dogs and were in it until the last minute vs. Denver when they were 9.5pt dogs. They've played well last 2 weeks...but again, they've ultimately failed. This spread is strictly a result of us losing BOTH FJ and CJ and us facing a Jets D in THEIR house. Makes sense, IMO.
-
lol. Well they also played the Lions and Bears - two teams that we beat but they lost. What I meant is that they've already played their really tough stretch of the schedule and failed. That doesn't mean they're as bad as a 1-6 team who played 3-4 games vs. the NFC South. If BOTH CJ and FJ didn't get injured I'm confident we'd be favored this game. Not by much, but we'd probably be giving 2 to 3 points. In the end who cares what the spread is really.
-
Exactly, and add on to that the fact we lost CJ and FJ. The Jets have lost a lot of games late and have played their tough part of the schedule so far playing the Chargers, Packers, Broncos and Pats. So yeah they're 1-6.

Panthers: 3-3 Saints: 2-4 Falcons: 2-5 Bucs: 1-5 Defense pts/game rankings: Bucs: 32nd (last) Falcons: 30th Panthers: 29th Saints: 28th Will we have another 7-9 division winner?

LMFAO "facts". Not he played well enough for us to be 2-1. No, he played bad enough for us to be 0-3. LMFAO. Your entire post continues to be about "stealing"/ how "bad" the opponents have been / how "bad" Orton has been. Tell me, how do you feel after a loss? I would not want to be around you. To sum up your mindset: We were 2-2 under EJ but we were really 4-0 and we're now 0-3 with Orton. got it.
-
Criticizing is one thing, living in an imaginary world where we're 0-3 under Orton is another. If you can't see just how warped your entire post was, then there's nothing more to say. Again, carry on.
-
I agree. Our O-line also needs to improve pass protecting. We need both. Yesterday's fumble i 100% blame Orton. The strip sack from the blind side is 50/50 man. 9 times out of 10 a QB loses that ball on a strip sack like that. Glenn got beat bad. I guess Orton could've gotten rid of it sooner..
-
I love how you criticize the board, but then post that jaded, one-side argument. Just look at the bold. It's trash. You're as much a part of the problem as those you seem to critique. Carry on though.

CJ out for season - Jackson 4 weeks
bobobonators replied to Harryhood280's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So FJ will miss at least 3 games (bc of Bye). Could've been worse. We should have FJ back for the really tough stretch. At best FJ will be back for the 2nd Jets game, Week 12. But it looks like he'll definitely be back for the Broncos/Packers weeks 14/15. Great news. -
LMAO. 1. I thought we should've kept Fitz as starter 1 more season w/ EJ. 2. I wanted DaRick too. 3. I wanted Geno Smith over EJ in the draft.
-
Awesome. Stats are there. Eyeball test is there. He's 31 not 41. He's led a team to the playoffs in the past. Argument is over as far as I'm concerned.
-
And when he gets his team in the red zone and his WR's don't fumble: we score TD's. Someone remind me what his red zone stats are again?
