  1. I agree but we did draft Kouandijo in the 2nd round last year. That's fairly high and fairly serious for a Guard. The Williams signing was an absolute waste. He was always bad prior to getting here, and despite his injury, how much did we expect from the guy? the bills have been unable to develop late round draft picks on the OL like some other teams do: Asper, Richardson (still early), Sanders, Hairston, Wang etc. We kinda hit a homer with glenn but that's about it (though he wasn't a late round pick). the rest have been a failure. Falls on GM(s).
  2. The spread is now up to 10 points.
  3. You're right. There were PLENTY of off season threads where many posters hated this signing.
  4. yes, i have pointed this out in other threads. hackett needs to step up his game and get more creative or go back to Syracuse where a trained monkey could've dialed up plays vs. WV defense.
  5. I must admit, I have never seen him play. I dont know how throwing in another rookie will make things better. How low is Hairston on Marrone's totem pole?
  6. Because he was a degenerate here? Granted, he's probably still a degenerate, but Seattle apparently knows how to deal with it better.
  7. He was also the Lions' feature back. CJ splits carries on a regular basis - especially in the red zone where a RB is more likely to get a rushing TD. Logic holds that if Spiller was given +100 more carries a season (which is how much more Barry averaged than CJ), he'd have a lot more yards per season. Also, giving CJ more carries gives him a greater chance of creating a big play. That being said, CJ is not the caliber of player Barry was (clearly), but he's also the type of player that can't be given only 6-10 carries a game and expect one of those 6-10 carries to be for 40-50 yards. It's not going to happen regularly. Now if he carries it 20-25 times - it's much more likely (hence the barry comparison). I mean for as "bad" as CJ has been, you don't have a 4.9 ypc in the NFL (which coming into this season was above 5.0 ypc) by simply breaking 50 yd runs and the rest being negative yardage. We know that's not the case. He can get 4-5 yards too.
  8. I would agree with this. If Williams makes that INT early in the game, everything changes thereafter. Chances are that they change for the BETTER and we play better or chances are that Brady starts killing us sooner in the 1st half as opposed to waiting till the 2nd half. who knows. frankly, who cares. I understand the premise that plays need to be made when they should - but they weren't. hence, why we lost.
  9. 10-4 One last comparison is that Spiller's career ypc is 4.9 and Barry is 5.0. Spiller has 67 games so that's a solid sample size.
  10. I agree with that - I'm just saying they're theoretically similar players in that it's boom or bust. Barry was just more consistent with the boom part. lol. But again, CJ spiller's career high for attempts is 207. Barry averaged around 300.
  11. We just played Tom freaking Brady. Bridgewater is an after thought. He looked awesome vs. the Falcons D which might be the worst in the league. He looked like he didn't belong in the league vs. the Lions D. Our D may not be as complete as the Lions D, but we're not that far off IMO. Having the Vikings score more than 13 points against us would be a failure IMO.
  12. I'll prob get flogged for this, but CJ is somewhat of a similar player to barry sanders in that Barry would have 2yds, -3yds, 1yd, 80yds, 2yd, 3yd, 50yd..etc. It was all or nothing with Barry - one main difference being that Barry broke the large runs more frequently, but Barry also had more carries per game to do so. CJ has a negative carry and then won't see another carry until next quarter.
  13. I disagree. One strong case for pulling EJ was that he just wasn't making the proper reads and wasn't throwing the ball downfield. EJ not sensing pressure or having pocket presence made matters worse, but that was a symptom of the problem, not the main problem (not knowing what to do with the ball).
  14. haha. I like that. My cup is half full right now.
  15. Enlighten me. How in the world would you know what a top 6 team is six games into the season? There are teams every year that dont make the playoffs that may be better than some teams that do. There are about 3 very good teams in each conference and then a whole bunch of teams that are more or less the same in that any one of them could lose to e/o any given sunday. And then there are a handful of "crap" teams as you say (the same crap team that beat the patriots and came within 5 seconds of beating the packers). I believe we're in that middle group and as important as who you play every week is when you play a team. There are a myriad of factors at play, especially when youre not even half way through the season.
  16. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy too early for any team to think playoffs. Any team.
  17. After reading the OP's analysis, it leaves one to wonder how we're 3-3 and managed to beat the bears, lions, and dolphins - teams which im sure the OP would argue are worlds better in the talent department. Players with brandon marshall, cutler, stafford, calvin johnson and reggie bush and wallace. All that talent we seem to lack. Sigh. At least save the gloom for when we're 3-12 going into week 17 if thats how you really feel.
  18. exactly what i was going to say.
  19. If this was a gun to head decision then I'd say no way Seattle loses 2 in a row. No way. Plus St. Louis is on a short week after playing Monday night. But b/c this is a game, I'd go with the Steelers winning at HOME on Monday night after being embarrassed last week vs. the Browns. Book it.
  20. I won't be satisfied halfway through the season. With the amount of talent we've been told we have, + a crappy Jets team; a so-so Dolphins team; and the worst Pats team during the Brady era, I expect no less than 9-7.
  21. I agree, and not to get off topic, but I wonder how much of that is going on in NY w/ Geno, Idzik and Rex. My opinion, there's no way Rex feels Geno gives them the best chance to win every week but probably feels pressure from Idzik to start Geno. From Idzik's perspective it's the perfect scenario: if Geno does well, they have their QB; if Geno bombs, Rex is fired and Idzik has a fall-guy and they can move on from Geno after saying they gave him a full two seasons (at Rex's expense).
  22. Exactly. I want my QB looking downfield for open WR and not looking at the pass rush - that's Henderson's job. If everyone does their job on that play, that would've been a big gain. Henderson is the one that caused that sack to happen. Orton is the one that looks bad though taking the sack.
  23. If I'm KO, I'm thinking, they have only 4 players rushing - I should have some time. He's clearly looking downfield at a play that's about to unravel for a possible deep pass. What in the world was Henderson looking at that he just let the player run by him untouched?
