  1. quite honestly, looking at our schedule and everyone else's schedules in this division, 8-8 might cut it. (as crazy as that sounds)
  2. Kyle walked off on his own, so maybe it's not season ending?? Wishful thinking.
  3. wait, was that Kitna? My apologies, i guess i don't "remember" hahaha.
  4. I remember watching that game. He came in off the street from coaching some high school team i think. Orton is a professional QB. We're not asking him to come here and put up 300+yds every game and 3TD every game. We're asking him to hit the WR that have been open and that EJ just can't see b/c of his regression.
  5. The Lions won't be the #1 Defense after we're done with them.
  6. This is the right move in my opinion. EJ needs to understand that just b/c he is being benched doesn't mean he still can't be a really good QB in this league. He needs to sit back in the sidelines for a few weeks to relax and regroup mentally. The game was clearly moving too fast for him. Lets see what Orton can do. One thing we know is that he's not a 19 QBR quarterback - so only one way to go and that's up.
  7. We can beat the Lions - look how bad the jets played yesterday and lost by 1 score. The lions are up and down. Granted, they're better at home but Calvin Johnson is a bit banged up. We need to play a mistake free game (0 turnovers) and go easy on the penalties to have a shot. The 2014 Patriots are not what they once were and are beatable. I'd take a loss vs. the Lions and a Win over Pats in a heartbeat to put us at 3-3 going into the Vikings game.
  8. No. There is better, younger talent out there. Much better.
  9. Is it me, or were young QB's benched more frequently 15-20-30 yrs ago? I feel that this entire conversation implies that benching EJ next week is the final nail in the coffin for his NFL career. Isn't that thinking kind of drastic? Bench the guy and start Orton for a couple of weeks and see how that goes. If it's a disaster, put EJ back in there after he's had a mental break. Is EJ that mentally fragile that he can't handle being benched? I hope not. We don't have that much money tied to EJ where we HAVE to start him to see what he can do. We've seen what he can do for 14 games (starting to become a fair sample size but maybe not quite there yet) and the result after 14 games is: he needs some time to regroup. This is exactly where I'm at today bro. It's clear that EJ is psyched out right now and the game might be moving too fast for him. Let him ride the pine a bit and regroup mentally. The guy wasn't a clear cut can't miss prospect coming out of college and we thrust him at starting QB from day 1. He may just need some time to absorb the league. I don't see anything wrong with that.
  10. He would start for Oakland or Minnesota next week depending on status of injured QBs. Other than that, NO.
  11. Prior to the season I had us at 2-2 going into week 5, but not by losing against the Texans. We can't possibly lose against average teams with average QB's and expect to have a winning season - especially with the quality QB's we'll be facing later in the year. On the brink of 3-1 this loss is demoralizing, especially in the manner in which it occurred.
  12. Bridgewater carted off field w ankle. Thats rough
  13. I look at EJ not being able to hit a player in stride. I see EJ not reading blitzes. I see EJ looking downfield w WR completely open and not passing the ball to them. I see EJ not running when he should. I see EJ scared. That being said, i also agree about Hackett.
  14. He hit a WIDE OPEN WR on a blown coverage play. If EJ cant make that throw then god help us. He wasnt inconsistent today. Inconsistent means he had a lot of good with some bad sprinkled in or a lot of good with a lot of bad. He was 90% bad today. Arguably his worst performance in the NFL so far.
  15. You summed up my feelings in 5 words. I literally felt physical pain watching this game.
  16. Im in the exact same boat. I can argue either point. For EJ i can simply say we're 2-2 and its still early and hes still developing/young etc. For orton i can say EJ is regressing, there is way too much talent on this team, we're still 2-2 so if we're going to make a change, make it now so it can have a positive impact. Tough decision.
  17. I think Watkins will be a stud in this league. You see glimpses even with a bad rib (which is one of worst injuries you can have and still play). EJ on the other hand - show me one game this year and last year where you thought damn this guy looks REAL good. Being honest, the highest ive thought of his play has been "not bad". Not bad wont cut it. Hes needs to evolve and do it quickly.
  18. At least we can draft that stud QB in first round next year. =(
  19. Indeed it does
  20. I dont like Hackett. But EJ had WR open all day on multiple plays and he just never saw them and threw it to another target which he couldnt complete. EJ was simply horrible. Another performance like this one next week and you HAVE to bench. Theres nothing that says he cant come back and be our QB, but you cant continue to throw him out there as bad as hes looked the last two weeks. He cant make simple passes. He cant read defenses and audible when he should. Im still waiting for that 300yd 3TD performance from this guy. Ill take 3INT w those 3td's but christ at least give us something to root for.
  21. Yes he did.
  22. Bridgewater already makes more plays than EJ. =\
  23. Sums it up pretty well. EJ is regressing. He has yet to have one of those "oh wow" games where you at least see glimpses of potential studliness. Hes either average or horrible which in total equals a below average QB.
