Let me clarify or edit my original post once and for all. Almost every year we see teams with a worse record, host a home playoff game, over a team with a better record only bc they won their division. At times, teams with worse records also make the playoffs over teams with better records.
-
All fair points. My main motivation would be to reduce the amount of schedule bias, and to ensure a team won’t make the playoffs over a team who has a better record. Let alone get a home game in the playoffs over a team who had a better record. This is not meant to be a pro Bills thread. Just speaking in general terms about the NFL playoff picture
-
I don’t think so; NFC South is worst division and winner will be 1 game over. Historically speaking, it has been an issue. Chiefs have also gotten home field advantage for Mahomes’ entire tenure (minus this year), in part, due to the AFC W being a disaster. To clarify, I meant one of the two things I said happens.

What are YOU doing to get the Bills into the playoffs?
bobobonators replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I did not put a single Bills player in my FanDuel league. Like clockwork, the couple of times I go with Allen at QB he has a stinker. It’s part of the reason I never pick him anymore. Dude balls out 15 games a year - other 2 games I have him. -
Almost every year we see teams make the playoffs over another team with a better record, due to winning their division. Or we see teams just have a cakewalk to the playoffs/home field advantage bc they play in a trash division and have automatic 6 wins (Chiefs past few years/Pats for more than a decade). Remove the divisions. Keep AFC/NFC. Keep the same 18 week/17 game schedule every team plays every single team in their conference 1x and then do 2 games vs opposite conference every year to maintain some inter-conference rivalries alive. Removing the divisions and going with 2 conference automatically eliminates teams with worse records making it in over teams with better records, and it also eliminates schedule bias by forcing all teams to have the same schedule (minus the 2 games vs opposite conference). With 11/17 games being outside of your division, it doesn’t make sense to reward a team so much at playoff time for winning their division. Thoughts?

You’re telling me there isn’t a young 22/23yr old RB that Ravens couldn’t have signed? They had to get Gordon??? Lmao. This dude fumbles more than anyone.

I’m sure that’s the case however my point stands. They are not going into this game thinking “we better lose so maybe Buffalo won’t make it”. Thats not a thought process in my opinion.

Baltimore doesn’t care about us.

The OTHER game nobody is talking about: Texans vs Colts
bobobonators replied to ImpactCorey's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeh you’re right. I looked at it wrong with Jags. If Jags lose that bumps them completely down and frees up extra wild card spot for winner/tie of Colts Texans game. -

Correct me if I’m wrong but the only other game that “REALLY” matters is the Steelers - bc if the Steelers lose, no matter what anyone else does, including the Bills losing, the Bills secure a wild card spot. -
Why does this team always seem like it's running on fumes?

Thank you. Thank you. -

2nd most wins in the NFL since 2019. We are so gassed. 🙄 -
Congrats to Pro Bowlers James Cook and Dion Dawkins!

If we took away the 10 underhand pitches Mahomes tossed to a RB from inside the 5yd line that led to TD’s every season he wouldn’t have as many passing TD’s. Heck, we should also take away the 100 screen passes Mahomes and Chiefs run every season. COME ON PEOPLE. -
Can Khalil Shakir be WR2 next season?
bobobonators replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
As long as Diggs is on this team he’ll be #1. Next year will likely be Diggs’ final year here. I see him getting traded before getting cut. We definitely need a first round talent at WR next draft. And then possibly take another shot at a WR in the 4th or 5th -
Some hard choices for Beane on the D-Line
bobobonators replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeh I mean I can get behind that. The awesome thing is that the Douglas trade got us a corner. Benford, Douglas and Johnson. Tre White will likely be cut. Our LB’s are set with Milano and Bernard. We will need a safety and another DL. Draft will have to prioritize WR first and then go get our DL/S. I’m super confident Beane and McD can find a S in the later rounds. They have a history of drafting and/or identifying studs in the secondary -

Yikes. Von is not going anywhere next year with that massive dead cap hit. Let’s just pray he returns at about 80% of what he was. 2025 he’ll be gone. -
It’s also a good example of how most fans don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to personnel decisions.

I hope Milano comes back 100% -
So how are we feeling about Coach McDermott?
bobobonators replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Im at where I’ve always been at: he stays as long as the team is playing hard and winning. We are still doing both of those things. When we have back to back 8-9 seasons then we can start talking about replacing him. I believe since 2019 or 2020 only Andy Reid has more wins than McD. As in my previous post, since 2019 or 2020 (I can’t remember now) only Andy Reid has more wins than McD. That’s pretty consistent. I just checked - the Bills have the 2nd most regular seasons wins since 2019. The Chiefs are #1. Yeh, let’s fire McD. Fire Beane too! -

I disagree. Look at our defense and how many late round picks have turned out to be studs: Bernard, Milano, Benford, Johnson And then other players like AJE who aren’t studs but solid players. McD is constantly bringing it on defense. Offense is another story. We need an infusion of talent at WR for Allen. Diggs is on the wrong side of 30 and Davis may not be back. We need a 1st round talent at WR and then another WR in the draft. Look no further than Mahomes to see what happens when you ignore the WR position. They are a disaster. -

I gotta say McD has been worlds better calling defense than Frazier. This defense is so much more aggressive. Defense is not a priority in next year’s draft. We should go with WR round 1 for sure. -
Steelers do play Ravens next week. Though who knows how long starters would go.
-
Wouldn’t we also get in if Pitt lost next week?
-
we don’t need nextgen stats to tell us that going for it from the 7yd line was the wrong choice
