I’m a huge fan of the NFL and football. I pay for Sunday Ticket every season for the past I dunno 20ish+ years? Basically for as long as it’s been in existence. The NFL offers me endless hours of entertainment via their content and/or fantasy throughout the year. For that, I’m grateful because I truly and genuinely love it. Having said that, I have to admit this Friday’s game makes me feel a bit used (dirty? disrespected? Not quite sure) and I have zero rooting interest in the game. Could you imagine being a fan of either the Eagles or Packers and waiting all off season for Week 1 kickoff and this is what you’re offered? You can’t go to the stadium to support the team. You shell out $400 for Sunday Ticket and you can’t watch the game on there either. Nope, instead the game is overseas and on Peacock. Week 1. Wow. It really irks me. I know the NFL has been doing this for years now. But week 1 overseas? And then double down and put it on Peacock? It’s brazen. Im definitely not one of these people that is always predicting the NFL’s demise (they’re entitled to their opinion too). In fact, I’m the opposite. So if the NFL is able to irk me, a staunch supporter of their product and the brand, something is clearly starting to go awry. Perhaps the means don’t justify the ends. Brutal.

Couple of things about sports that I feel are appropriate in this thread: 1. Not everything can be measured and made into a stat. There’s a mental/psychological component to human performance in athletics. When this team makes the playoffs we have folded under the pressure of the moment. That’s not due to a lack of talent - it’s because of the mental/psychological component not rising to the same level as our physical talents. 2. Luck. Yes, you make your own luck the majority of time. If you do things right and perform at a high level, more often than not you will come out on the winning end regardless of bad bounces/breaks. But there are a few times where you can do a lot of things right and still catch a brutal break. We’ve had a couple of those in the playoffs during this run. Bad timing.

No way Cowgirls add another penny to WR group. -

Good thing week 1 we play the Cardinals - expect us to run it nonstop. Their D should be pretty poor this season. Then week 2 we play dolphins which is what about 3 weeks from now? I’d just shut down Samuels until then. -
Postgame thread (8/17/24) - Bills at Steelers

How Josh Allen didn’t win MVP last season is beyond me. This team is 3-14 without him. Ravens would prob still be 8-9. -

I’m personally fine not kicking FG - Josh you got 4 downs every drive. -
Objectively, I don’t think the prediction is that wild. If both teams’ QB’s stay healthy they will be contenders

Xavier Worthy injured during 1st practice as a Chief
bobobonators replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I look back on a back like Ray Rice who was a measly 5’8” the dude was +200lbs. Built like a bowling ball. Tyreek Hill is built. He’s thick. His lower body can take a beating bc his legs are thick. Ekeler is 5’9 +200lbs. His legs are as wide as my waist. These dudes are built like bowling balls. There is a pattern in body type that translates to success in NFL. At 165lbs those bones don’t have much meat on them. I cringe just imaging what a hit would feel like from an NFL caliber LB. -

Im 5’9” 175ish. Workout regularly. Above average muscle tone. I would die in the NFL. My bones would shatter instantly. 1 hit. Dead. -

Adding to that, look at the previous 40 time record holders - basically none of them went on to be successful in the NFL. Being a track star doesn’t automatically translate to NFL success. Outside of Chris Johnson it’s a who’s who of irrelevancy -
Lamar Jackson sent home sick with illness

I just got COVID for 2nd time and it was not fun. It’s been more than 2 weeks and I’m still coughing up gunk. -
In his defense, someone here posted number for Jones compared to T Lawrence and they were almost identical. The gamble with Jones might cost him his job; but Jones did show some flashes. Making the playoffs early on might be the worst thing that happened to Schoen and Daboll. False hope perhaps. Kinda right about that. GB hasn’t had a truly horrible QB in like 30yrs

I don’t like reality TV either. But hard knocks is well done; and if you’re a fan of football, you’ll enjoy it. Give it a shot.

Josh Allen was also 5th in the NFL in pass attempts. It happens when you pass a lot. -
Wanna buy Tyrod Taylor's house?
bobobonators replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Tyrod is in his mid 30s and really into high fashion and the finer things in life. I don’t think futons and pig pong tables are his cup of tea. The house is gorgeous. -

Kickers are complete head cases for the most part. -
Narrative? Facts. Busquets/Iniesta/Xavi are all legends - which is what I said. Xavi and Iniesta alone are top 5-7 midfielders all time. Kroos isn’t even in the same convo. Throw in Busquets and you’d be hard-pressed to find me a midfield that had 3 better starters. The topic was collection of talent - not titles. Madrid will continue winning titles in the 92nd or 97th minute long after I’ve departed this planet, regardless of Kroos and Modric. Some things are what they are. cheers!

Shakir could be a breakout player for us this season. Without a doubt he has shown flashes of a really good player. Somewhat anecdotal but many WR break out in their 3rd season. He had 611yds last season with Davis and Diggs on the team. This year I could see him approaching 1,000 with ~5TD. Shakir, Samuel and Kincaid heavily early in the season. And I’d expect Coleman to start eating up targets by mid season.

Joe Marino breaks down the schedule completely

I like him. Is it just me or does he look like an overweight Josh Allen? I saw your post after I posted mine 😂 -
