with the 3rd pick in the NFL Draft.....
billsfan714 replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Didnt Aaron Rodgers fall, being a product of Jeff Tedfords system and history of failed QBs such as Dilfer, Akili Smith, Harrington, David Carr and Kyle Boller? See where Im going with this. -
running game v. passing game
billsfan714 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well one part of the passing game we continue to ignore is TE, we have to have the worst collection of turds at TE in the entire NFL. As much as we need to some OL help we need a qaulity starting TE not our usual 4th round turd, the newest of which is Shawn Nelson. Gailey should have his head examined for taking Troup over the top rated TE in the draft who also happened to be a local boy, Gronkowski. -
Interesting, half the teams with a top 10 offense are sitting home too.

I like Wood too, especially coming back from the injury. I dont think McKelvin has developed as hoped and has made some horrendous plays, Evans is overrated and overpayed. Spiller didnt produce for the millions he made. I wonder what the total payroll in those 12 picks is and number of probowls. Im too tired now to research it, but it would be a scary cap number for a few(2 or 3?) probowls, and a big goose egg for perennial probowlers. Sometimes I wonder why I look foward to the Bills draft.

Ten years of No.1 picks, 12 total 1's, a lot of them in the top half of the draft has resulted in JP Losman, McCargo, Maybin, McKelvin, Lynch, Spiller, McGahee, Whitner, Evans, Mike Williams, Nate Clements, and Eric Wood. Anybody care to add up the probowls in that group? You can't draft this bad and turn a team around.

For those who want to go all defense in the draft...
billsfan714 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We just made Joe Mcknight look like Curtis Martin in his prime. I think addressing the worst run defense in the NFL is a top priority. Occasionaly stopping the other team would help the offense out. -

Aother nail in Maybust's coffin. -
That is a really weak number on the passes defended by Donte.

Troy Polamalu has done more in 3 weeks than Whitners done in his career.

Ahhhhhh....nope.......really think the fans were right about Stevie. When is the last Bills receiver to go over a 1,000 yds with 10 TDs in a season which SJ will most likely do baring injury? I think he's having a great year. He had a bad game, it happens, but his season thus far has been pretty stellar. -

Leodis needs to make more plays, Stevie has this year. Leodis' fumble in OT took us out of field position. Leodis has multiple stikes against him. -

Stevie the fans always saw your potential even when Mauron didnt. Keep your head up and go get em next week. -
I was wrong about Chan. Thought it was terrible hire. However the guy has really done wonders with the offense, this team is no longer the snooze-fest it was under Jauron. Chans done this with no help from the draft, CJ really hasnt done much, no OL help from the draft, but Chan has turned SJ into a good receiver and were developing Nelson and others. If we can get some defensive help to stop the run, this team will be very competitive. Oh and beastmode sucks in Seattle, good riddance.

Kelsay and George Edwards exposed
billsfan714 replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The posters on this board are right as usual. The people on this board saw Steve Johnson potential(though Dickie Moron didnt) and they were right. Well the posters on this board were right again, Kelsay is atrocious. Only the Bills brain trust could think of extending this never was. If Kelsay is such a great locker room guy, maybe he has the wrong uniform on, maybe he should get a Jills uniform and he can rah rah cheer the Bills to victory, because lord knows, he's never going to do it with his play on the field. -

Bills situation beyond hope
billsfan714 replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with most of it and it all comes back to the front office. Remember last off season, this was THE YEAR Ralph was going to get some top flight people. The GM searched landed in house and 70 year old "football man" Buddy Nix. Then the coach search, only to be left scratching your head when Chan was announced. Sure you were thinking Cowher...who could of brought in Gailey as offensive coordinator, but no, Chan was our head coach. The Bills couldnt land the big fish. With Chan the offensive is certainly improved, but Chan brought in the D coordinator and were 5 points behind the record pace of the 1981 Colts for most points given up in a season. Thats how bad our defense is, it's working on historic bad. To the draft. Who would of thought, knowing that we had Lynch and Fred, and with all our holes, that this draft would produce a 6 carry a game runningback, and minimal playing backups. The off season, Dwan-fine, Cornell "are you serious" Green. So 1 year in, color me not impressed by good ole Buddy. I dont care what way they go in the draft, but if its a QB, they better be as damned certain as you can be that this is THE guy. Otherwise go front 7 defense with a lot of new linebackers and some type of edge rusher. Seems like we've jettisoned some payroll, didnt resign TO, Shobel gone, Lynch trade, Hardy cut, McCargo will be gone, etc so there should be money to spend. So if we dont bring in some impact FA's next off season, then you'll know Nix doesnt have a clue. To me, it looks like meet the new boss, same as the old boss. -
It just boggles my mind that people will continue to defend Modrak. Exactly what has he ever built?

Anything but the standing buffalo, please.

If Luck doesnt come out, I beginning to think theres no QB worth the 3rd pick in the draft(which is where we are now).

Mankins for Jackson? Could it happen?
billsfan714 replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They're reporting because the union advised them to, in order to get the fifth year of service in order to be UFA's next year. I dont think theres any trade happening there. -
Supposedly he's working with John Lucas to get his career back on track. If he got in shape and rededicated himself, who knows.
