  1. You can sort by median salary, it will show all LBs from highest to lowest. I know they're using 2009 numbers but this would make Kelsay the 11th highest paid LB in the NFL on that list, at 6 mill per year.
  2. Get er done Buddy!!! Please overpay to resign Whitner too, another leader with no probowls and mediocre production.
  3. So "football man" Buddy Nix has given us the unispiring hiring of Chan Gailey, brought in Dwan(fine), Cornell Green(yikes), had a draft where we have 2 guys contributing one of which just barely(Troupe), didnt address our 2 biggest needs, and now Kelsay is extended at 6 million a year. Yeah this is gonna completely different than our other rebuilds-NOT!
  4. You know how the Pats know when to let a player go and not over pay aging vets to long terms deals? This is like that only completely different. Great move there Buddy, 6 mill to a guy who never has and never will be in a probowl. God help us.
  5. +1,000
  6. Well I'm going bang for the buck, Green(cut)-Whitner(dont resign, start Scott), Kelsay(dont resign) Stroud(cut-start Spencer/Carrington) and of course McCargo. How much in payroll is that capologists? Would leave the Bills some coin to address positions in free agency before the draft.
  7. This maybe the one final move that sends even the kool-aid drinking homers over the edge. Aren't linebackers supposed to be faster than DE's? So isn't making Kelsay a LBer giving us a pretty slow footed linebacker to rush the passer and now try to cover. It ain't going to work. This a a guy with a career high 5.5 sacks in a season, and ZERO probowls and hes 30, and the Bills braintrust is considering plunky down 24 million on a journeyman on the downside of his career? Sorry Buddy, if you make this move, then dementia is setting in.
  8. I'll second that. I think we can all agree the Polian-Kelly years were the greatest and yet ended in heartache. And yes we would all take those again in a heartbeat. It was a time you wore your Bills gear proudly. But now that we've begun our second decade of futility its harder to find any enthusiasm, harder to justify the decisions, the hires, the drafts. I'm close to the same age and I'm no longer in WNY, presently in Steeler country. When I'm wearing my Bills hat I'm greeted with the same reaction of pity, or Why? or How could anybody like the Bills? And you know what, I'm running out of answers. To your point, other than the Kelly-Bruce years, my Bills memories are the suckass late 60s-early 70s Bills, mediocre 70s, a very brief Knox Bills, horrible early-mids 80s, and now the 11 year drought 00s Bills. The realist in me knows we are as far away from the playoffs as we have ever been and no amount of kool-aid is gonna change that.
  9. After watching Bills drafts the last 10 years I just dont want the ESPN and NFL network crews to go Whhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? when we make a selection.
  10. Wow 2 ones, a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and a 5th for RJ, JP and Trentative, gotta love the Bills front office. The worst talent evaluators in the NFL looked at these stiffs thats what happened. The same people who have brought you Maybust, the non-pro bowl safety Whitner, Hardy, McCargo and on and on it goes. Put that all together and you have 5 number 1 choices, 2 second rounders, a third and fourth and a fifth for RJ, JP, Edwards, Whitner, McCargo, Hardy and Maybust.
  11. My condolences to Jags fans.
  12. Anybody considering giving Kelsay 24 million should not be an NFL GM. Thats about pro-bowl money for a guy who only gets to a probowl if hes got tickets.
  13. I wonder how many millions we would have to spend on F/A's next year if we werent paying for Whitner, Stroud, McCargo and Kelsey. Plug Scott in for Donte, start Carrington for Stroud, McCargo hasnt done anything for 5 years anyway so no loss there and just let Kelsey go. And if Maybust doesnt show anything in camp next year, hes cut and we have to eat the signing bonus so be it, but at least we arent paying millions in salary for next to zero in production. Seems like more than enough to get LT McNeil and a couple of legitimate LBs.
  14. Or head of the Bills scouting department.
  15. Im with you. Theres fantasy owners that are closer to their teams than Modrak. If hes in charge of ranking players and in the year of the LB and had Maybust over Orakpo, Cushing and Matthews, well that says a lot. If he had Whitner over Ngata, he shouldnt be in football.
  16. Yeah he really contained Finley yesterday.
  17. They got to be laughing in the defense meetings, coming up with a plan to shut down trent and this offense.
  18. Yes fans please be patient. Weve only just begun decade 2 of our 20 year rebuilding plan.
  19. Whitners one that doesnt get a lot of talk, but this his last year and his production hasnt matched his paycheck.
  20. Agreed a fifth is required for any fan watching Trent.
  21. Time to break out the paper bags with ILLS on them.
  22. This team has so many holes it will take more than drafts to get better, we're gonna need to bring in some FAs that can start. Hope Buddy doesnt sleep the first day of free agency every year.
