  1. I wonder if scouts a few years ago wrote about the Bills having only Gandy and a undrafted free agent, former tight end at left tackle.
  2. I dont think Mack is the 3rd rated center. Woods is moving up but in case you didnt notice Unger got rolled at the senior bowl.
  3. Im starting to like Pettigrew more and more. The Bills in their history have never had a great TE. All this talk about how TO can prevent opposing defenses from doubling evans, imagine giving opposing defenses another thing to think about by adding Pettigrew. It would give Trent a safe option when he needs it. A big plus is Pettigrew is a stud blocker beside being a receiving threat. Should help Lynch in the running game. One of the best ways to help the defense is for the offense to stay on the field more and score more points.
  4. All though I like Everett Brown, the bust history of FSU DEs is a big worry, just as the recent string of PSU busts raises concerns about Maybin. I think one thing overlooked with Pettigrew is besides being a great receiving threat he is the best blocker. Didnt he handle Arakpo. Seems like Pettigrew would add a lot to the performance of the offensive line.
  5. One threw for 4500 yards and the other has zero 300 yard games in his career. Enough said.
  6. Man their all just about a roster of disasters. Ive seen the Everette Brown youtube reel and he looks good to me but then again you have all those FSU DE busts. Arakpo got manhandled by Pettigrew and I saw his youtube reel and a lot of his sacks looked like missed blocking assignments by weaker competition. Pettigrew has speed issues and for the most part 11 is too high for him. Cushing has injury concerns, Malalauga has questions about his coverage. Dont get a great vibe on all these guys mock drafts have us taking.
  7. Maybin worries me. He doesnt have a large body of work, and not sure if he really fits either DE or OLB......anybody remember Michael Haynes DE PSU, first round bust with the bears.
  8. Two first rounders and another pick for Peters? Why didnt you just ask for their whole draft while you were at it.
  9. For people who like Arakpo, didnt Pettigrew own him blocking in this years game? Seems like Pettigrew is strong in blocking and receiving.
  10. Everett Brown intrgues me....go to youtube and check out his highlight reel. The guy has some quick moves and seems relentless. I know FSU DE bust history in the past, but this guy I think is different. Maybin worries me because hes either too small for DE or hes moves to LB where he doesnt have a lot of experience.
  11. Terrence McGee just hit the jackpot. Hes in a much stronger negotiating position after this season with Greer leaving.
  12. Wow...to people whining about the signings......theres plenty of time for more cuts.....a lot happen before roster incentives kick in and a lot happen right before training camp...
  13. Ive been saying the same thing. It made more sense to invest in Greer this year and let Mcgee , who is older, go next year, which may be an uncapped year.
  14. Why does everyone act like Hardys ACL means zero production in 2009. Seems I remember Rod woodson tearing his ACL in the opener and playing in the SB in the same season. Seems the Patriots arent writing off Bradys next season. Do I think Hardy will light it up...no but I do think he can contribute significantly especially in the 2nd half of the season.
  15. I think it could make sense for Detroit and us on that trade. If you think Bills fans are down on their team, imagine trying to get fired up for the upcoming Lion season. Plus Detroits economy is about as bad as you can get, the Lions really need 2 impact players and especially at QB to give their fans some hope. I get the impression Stafford is slipping on draft boards due to questions about his accuracy. Plus Sanchez is catching up to Stafford, and there is a big dropoff after those 2. If the Lions could get a Curry at no.1(the safest pick in the draft), and one of the Qbs at 11 it could be a good move. I would do the Lynch trade also but I dont think the Seahawks do it. Who knows if the league drug tested him. In the age of Pacman Jones and Michael Vick, i dont think teams are eager to overlook this stuff, its another strike. If they would do it, I wouldnt take a runningback. Id be happy filling needs with all those picks and going in to the year with Fred Jackson and a FA signing. Just because Fred wasnt a high pick doesnt mean he cant be the feature back, just ask the Steelers with Willie Parker. Bills could end up with TE Pettigrew at 20....best center at 33(Mack or Unger) with Detriots 2nd, defensive end (Connor Barwin or Robert Ayers) with Seatles 2nd and Ziggy Hood DT with our own 2nd. Plus you dont overpay for 2nd round picks. Fills a lot of needs without overpaying overpriced free agent talent.
  16. My 2 cents.... 1. I dont know why there isnt much talk about resigning Greer. Hes younger than Mcgee and Mcgee will be a free agent next year. I would sign the younger guy and let Mcgee go in free agency next year. With McKelvin and Parish on special teams Mcgees return skills arent needed like they use to. But hey were the Bills so we'll probably lose Greer this year and Mcgee next so we can draft another CB in RD 1. 2. Sign proven talent and dont overpay for journeymen. Pat Williams wasnt asking for crazy money yet we still let him go. Winfield probably makes about the same as kelsay and Clements was probably close to what we signed Dockery for. As soon as its feasable financially cut Kelsay. 3. Trade down before you trade up. The Losman and McCargo picks were simply horrendous. More 2nd picks are gold, quality players without the first round price. 4. If Edwards doesnt develop, get one of the blue chip QBs in next years draft. I agree with the poster above, if you dont have a Ravens type defense you are not going to win without a top QB. When i found out on here Trent has never had a 300 yard game I went wow, didnt realize that. 5. Fire the entire front office. 6. Fire Jauron. 7. Do whatever it takes to get Cowher, give him GM position too if he wants that. Whatever it takes, money-title I dont care just get it done. If not get a Shanahan. 8. I said this before, if were going to turn this around I almost think we need to take a step back this year and have a top 5 draft pick next year to get one of the great QBS coming out next year.
  17. I agree, I would of given our 2nd and a 5th for Winslow in a heartbeat.
  18. God anybody who thinks the Bills have a better secondary the the Steelers should stop watching football. I totally agree we need difference makers. We dont need any more solid citizen, works hard type that cant make plays. Donte Whitner couldnt hold Troy Polamalu's jock, and doesnt make plays. Josh Reed wouldnt even make the Steelers team, yet I hear people on this board say how good he is. When does he score TDs or lay someone out like Hines Ward. Edwards is adequate at best but is not a playmaker. He would make a nice Frank Reich not Jim Kelly. Roethlisburger keeps plays alive, Tom Brady moves and slides in the pocket and keeps plays alive, to make big plays. We dont have that. The picks we gave to Dallas for Losman could of got us Bob Sanders in the 2nd---a playmaker. Personally, when I look at the schedule next year, Im honestly hoping the Bills implode. Dont get me wrong, Im a die hard Bills fan, that lives in PA and has to hear these gloating "stiller" fans daily. But I know sometimes you have to take a step back to go foward. Just like one of the few bad Steeler teams turned into the Roethlisburger pick in the next draft for Pittsburgh. What I want to happen if they implode, say 4-12 next year is that...1-Jauron is fired and 2-We get a crack at the blue chip QBs that will be coming out next year and 3-and this may be a pipe dream is that we get a real GM. One who can spot talent in the draft, who will hire top notch scouts, who will trade down before he trades up, one who can make a trade that improves the team. You know like Polian use to do. I honestly believe there are people on this board, armed with their knowledge of college football and a few draft mags that could do better that Modrak and the previous GMs. A number 1 for an aging and statuesque Bledsoe, numerous high wasted picks on JP Losman, Donte Whitner---whose production numbers resemble a 4th round pick. The same 4th round piece of crap TE drafted every other year. The money wasted on DEs who dont produce. I would go on, but when i loook at the Steelers I see just how far we are away, and its a long, long. long way. Same when I look at the Patriots, and these are 2 teams that you have to get through just to get to the bowl. What do the Steelers have to address in the draft---a few offensive lineman...big deal. They'll have Mendanhall coming back to help fast Willy, grooming Limus Sweed to replace Ward in a few years. Defense is loaded. Roethlisburger in his prime. God im depressed when i compare us to them.
  19. I always wish we had sucked more the year Roethlisburger was drafted, instead we got JP and set the franchise back 4 years.
  20. If Andre Reed doesnt get in eventually the hall of fame is a crock. How many receivers are in the hall of fame right now? Andre Reed is in the top 5 in career receptions and in the top 10 in both touchdowns and in yards. How many receivers already in the hall dont have those numbers. Andre lived over the middle and took plenty of big shots. 13 seasons with over 50 receptions. Andre Reed MORE than deserves to be in the hall.
  21. As a Bills fan down here in Steeler country its obvious the Bills are no where in the steelers league. The Steelers defense is truly awesome. Casey Hampton is very underratd noseguard. They have never over spent on linebackers, see James Farrior, they also get blue chippers in the 2-3 rounds. Hell Harrison wasnt even drafted. A great safey like Polamalu is a tremendous assest, like the Ravens having Ed Reed and the Pats with Rodney Harrison. How many plays does Donte Whitner make? Sorry I cant remember any. I would take any of the Steelers skill position players on offense over the Bills. Holmes and Hines Ward blow away Evans and Reed. Roethlisbuger is a gem, Heath Miller is a quality TE and Willie Parker give you the homerun. The difference in the Bills and Steelers is ownership and the front office. Its the reason Cowher went to Rooney and told him its either me or Donahoe, the Steelers kept Cowher and we got Donahoe and JP Friggin Losman. Its reason we keep and overpay for the like of Kelsay, Denney, Parish, Walker, Dockery and let Pat Williams, Clemens and Winfield go. Anybody who thinks this franchise is a year or two away is nuts.
  22. I would have no problem with Taylor Mays, guys like this dont come around often.
  23. Totally agree. Those career stats, except for tackles, look like Ed Reeds or Polamalus would be in about 4 games. A safety in the 8th spot should be a stud, not adequate. Ed Reed and Polamalu make players around them better. I dont think you can say that about Whitner.
