  1. And how 'bout that Russell Wilson just tossing a long pass to score and tie their game against NE!
  2. Well it was a lot closer than any of us really thought it would be.....sure beats a blow out - sort of...
  3. And the obligatory near shank....
  4. For the love of God, please do not watch the game.....don't even listen to it (just in case.....)
  5. I don't think this Brown's team is as bad as their record suggests. Bills in a nail biter 17-16 with last minute heroics....
  6. One of the pundits (Trent Dilfer I think on SportCenter) said that the difference between Spiller this year v. last year is acceleration after first contact. Last year he wasn't accelerating after first contact and this year he is. I don't get to see many of the games - generally just highlights. Is that something those of you that get to see most of the games can confirm?
  7. You're right, a win is win and I was cheering just as loud as if the Bills were crushing the Steelers or Patriots. As someone pointed out already, we tend to play down to bad Cleveland teams but hopefully that won't happen this coming weekend. Then I think the real test comes.
  8. The most pessimistic thing to say is that they beat the Chief's who may only win 3 or 4 games this year. I'm still on target for the 10-6 prediction I made on the "Win a free dinner" thread that was started over the summer. I had the Bills losing last week, winning this week and next and losing in week four....I'd really like that free dinner.
  9. Will be 52 in a few weeks. My dad took me to my first game in the middle 60's. I left Buffalo after high school and haven't lived there since but of course still follow the Bills. We didn't have season tickets but my dad would take me to at least one game a season - generally around my birthday in October - a great time to see a game in WNY. I barely remember the Rock Pile, and the picture of RWS in my head is stuck in 1993 which is the last time I saw a game in Buffalo.
  10. How do you define "our time"? Is it having a winning record? Is it creeping into the playoff's as a wild card? Is it winning it all? If you've followed the team as long as I have you know that our time may never come. The Bills have been in the playoff's 17 times out of 51 seasons. There have been at least three other occassions when the team had six or more seasons of playoff droughts. The overall record is 364-417-8......my point is enjoy the ride, know it's going to be frustrating and know that it's not likely to change until there is a change of ownership. And at that point we as fans have to hope that the NFL doesn't let the team move. I used to be in a really crappy mood on Monday's after a Bills loss. Now, not so much. Maybe it's age, maybe it's just realizing that the Bills are who they are and like someone else said, like a bad kid, they're mine and I still love them, warts and all - but I believe me it still sucks to watch them play like they did last week. Who knows, maybe they'll start out 1-4 this year and then win 10 out of their last 11 - that'd be a neat change.
  11. Time portal,ey? So tell us, when does the drought end? Do they ever win the big one?
  12. Anyone remember Al Meltzer? He did the radio call from maybe '71 to '76 or so, then Van came back. Meltzer's great call was OJ's 2000 yard game against the Jet's...."OJ running left, OJ five more, maybe six......"
  13. The old man doesn't look like he's going to be around too much longer.... http://blogs.buffalonews.com/press-coverage/2012/08/ralph-wilson-makes-hall-of-fame-appearance.html
  14. This is a conversation I've had many times with my Philadelphia born wife: 1. Cry because my dad didn't live to see it (he loved the Bills and unfortunately for most of his life they didn't do much except for those four semi-glorious years) 2. Get on the road to WNY for the parade 3. Run naked across one of the bridges here in Richmond, VA (no particular reason why - just told my wife I would when we lived in Philly during the SB years) 4. Promised my wife I'd stop watching football - figure I'd be able to start watching again in a couple of seasons 5. Buy me a "Buffalo Bills - Super Bowl Champions" hat
  15. Autumn leaves fall soon Rumbles again at the Ralph Disaappoint us not
  16. Refresh me as I haven't been to the Ralph in over 15 years - did they ever put Kalso on the Ring of Fame? I hope so.
  17. I started watching the game at my house. At 21-0 I told my wife I was going to go play golf. At 28-0 I actually got off my butt and went to the course. At 35-3 I teed off and was feeling pretty good about my decision. After nine holes I stopped in the clubhouse for a beer and the game was on - bartender told me the Bills were about to score to take the lead 38-35...I nearly crapped myself. I watched them score, jumped in my car and raced home while listening to the game on the radio...Got home just in time for OT kick off...My wife and mother in law (who was visiting) walked in the door from shopping five seconds after the Bills kicked the game winning FG - I was virtually in tears, jumping around yelling "it was the greatest comeback in NFL history...." They both thought I was nuts (their from Philly)...I still feel bad that I gave up on them but I know I wasn't the only one...
  18. Where in Richmond do you watch the Bills? I usually go to Big Al's or listen to the home broadcast on Sirus....Been in Richmond 20 yrs. and loath the Redskins...
  19. If by connections you mean failing the class, then that would be a yes....
  20. I still live in the Short Pump area of Richmond and went to Fredonia State (for a year)....no North Collins connection though....
  21. Towanda, PA? Not far from Sayre, PA where I had one of the best italian meals in my life at Mangellardo's....checking in from Richmond, VA originally from Williamsville (WEHS '78) via Philly and Charlotte....

  23. As an NC State grade I watched almost every NC State game the last several years. Graham is going to work out okay with some coaching. He's got speed, he can get open over the middle in the 10-15 yd range and he's not bad on special teams (returns). The film clip from the Cinncy game last year isn't all that representative of his talents. State got beat like a read headed step child and every one looked bad that night...on national TV no less....
