I would put the over/under at 4.5 wins. So if I saw a line of 3, I would bet the over.

If Geno starts day 1 as QB, wouldn't that make him front runner for Offensive ROY according to another thread, killing our chances of having both offensive and defensive ROYs? (sarcasm) -
I'm taking the under, predicting 5 wins. While I like the direction we're going, the Bills are asking for strong contributions from rookie and second year WRs. There's a learning curve in the league, and most WRs don't come into the league ahead of that curve. You're also asking for a rookie QB to make reads. While the system may be "more simple" than his college program, he'll have to make the decisions much faster due to the increased speed of the game. Throw in the shuffle of OLineman, and I see a lot of scrambling in EJs future. I'm more optimistic about the defense's chance of stepping up, but are we really ready to call the Bills contenders at this point?

I think Moses would disagree. Their poor "management" skills led them to lose control of their workforce. Ultimately, their business plan was unsustainable, and the relatively high cost of the niche product they created left them with very limited exit options.

"so that an executive can receive his yearly bonus"... the more accurate statement is "so shareholders in Disney can receive their anticipated earnings and/or dividends". This includes executives, individual investors, mutual fund owners, etc.

You can grow without a plan, but it rarely works to make broad based cuts without one. To simply say "we're cutting 10% across the board... make it work" doesn't work because you end up cutting muscle and bone along with the fat. That said, if there is a rhyme and reason to the decision, an employer does not owe it to the employee or a community to keep a job that is not productive. Has ESPN become bloated? Is the entire "campus" atmosphere really necessary to offer quality programing? How many of the 50 variations of ESPN are profitable (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, Deportes...)?

Maybe he was exposed to lead as a child, maybe the frontal lobe of his brain doesn't function properly, who knows. In the end it doesn't matter. The result is that is currently not serviceable as a WR in the league. -

I believe that NYS law is pretty clear that an engagement ring is a conditional gift. If they break-up prior to marriage she has to give it back. Texas law dictates that it be given back if she is the one that breaks it off. If he broke it off, it's hers to keep. -
We should have taken Nassib in the 4th

Do you honestly think if Marrone thought that Nassib was a "star" he would pass up a sure thing that he already knew well for a project with upside knowing that his career will likely hinge on this decision? -
We should have taken Nassib in the 4th
DasNootz replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nassib was only given 1st round consideration because of the connection with Marrone. Nobody that actually watched any SU football this season thought that his "fair market value" was 1st round worthy. Correction: The Jets hyped Nassib so that the Bills might be persuaded to take him at 8 and leave Austin for their pick. I'm glad we called that bluff. -
Average? Name me 10 teams who would have rather had Fitz as their starter last year? Here are mine: Jets, Arizona, KC, Browns, Jaguars... Tennessee?, Vikings?, Bucaneers? Dolphins?

If you're over 21 years old, you shouldn't wear sneakers unless you're working out anyway. Buy pairs of brown and black shoes and alternate so that they have time to air out between wearings. Keep them polished and looking nice. -
So that's a base of what...$7 million per year with incentives closer to $10 million?

Tebow will not be content being a number 3 QB. I'm not saying he'll be militant, but the headache caused by having to defend your decision not to play him every week just isn't worth the effort for backup/gimmick player.

Given your choice, would you rather have Eric Berry or Jarius Byrd for the same money?

Ideal knowing who was available at each spot. 1) Eiffert 2a) EJ Manuel - we'll never know if he would have made it. If he's gone Woods was my pick. 2b) Woods - we'll never know if he would have made it 3) Nico Johnson - ILB Alabama 4) Barrett Jones - OG/C Alabama - Had we not had so many needs, Lattimore was a great risk/reward pick here. after that I'd be lying if I said I knew who 50% of the players were. I don't like taking a kicker in the 6th though.

I took away that Byrd is most likely not going to remain with the Bills. "We're not going to mortgage the Buffalo Bills for one player"... that tells me they're still really far apart. -
Rd 1, Pick #16: QB EJ Manuel - Florida St.
DasNootz replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills' scouting and coaching staff thought that we was clearly a step above the next 3, and the future face of the franchise, it was the right time to take him. By pick 41 Jacksonville, Oakland, Arizona, the Jets, and the Titans all could concieveably take a QB. If they thought he was special, it's likely they thought others would covet him too, and he'd be in the top 2 on others' boards. If we had swapped with SF, would one of those teams have been willing to do a Minnesota-type move to move back before 31?... we'll never know. We didn't have the ammo to come back into the first without sacrificing next year's 1st in my opinion. With our holes, there's no way we would have given up a deal like what Minnesota did.
