Can he take out an insurance policy on his health? Unless he has inside knowledge of a likely work stoppage, this makes no sense. He's two semesters away from getting his degree... Great! How about he works on that for the next 10 years while he's banking coin in the NFL. By the time he's done with his football career some of his education will be wasted anyway as building codes will be changed to make room for the flying automobile, ozone protective shields, etc.

Matt Barkley will also come out next year. If both are healthy and we continue to suck we'll have two shots at a franchise QB.

I wasn't impressed last night. Forget the drops, last night was the perfect chance to show that he was a "champion". I didn't see him gutting it out. If anything, it seemed like the team relied more heavily on the running game. Ohio State was down to what.... their 5th string CBs and Arkansas still didn't seem to stretch the field much. I saw a ton of check downs and a waste of a cannon for an arm. My impression was that he wasn't a leader... or at least not an effective one. I also saw enough of Pryor to know that I want nothing to do with him. If we stay at 3 and Luck is gone, we should go DL.

Honestly at this point, I wouldn't mind if they went somewhere other than QB with their first round pick. If you buy that it'll take 3 years to be relevant, why not address either line with an elite player that can step in and start day 1. Barkley looks better to me than any of the QBs that will be draft elligble this year, and he can't come out until 2012.'s draft.

So a QB that had to audible because he didn't like the defensive matchups shouldn't be able to call a timeout when the player don't get in position soon enough?

Last week the Bills were 5.5 pt underdogs, in a line that I thought was ridiculously easy money for the Jets better. This week we're 1.5 pt dogs at home against the Jaguars. At one point we were even money, but that seemed too generous. I think they'll rush all over us, and even though they're near the back of the pack in passing defense, I don't see where we have the weapons to exploit. I think it's a close game, within 3 either way. I'd stay away. I'll take Green Bay -3 vs. the Redskins.

I'll take the Jets -5.5. Even without Reevis, I can't see Fitzpatrick having a great day while he's laying on his back.

He doesn't get our team over the hump to become a playoff team, so it's not worth taking him on if it means draft picks.

As the 4th option in the receiving corp (Austin, Witten and Roy Williams) he out performed everyone on the Bills last year not named TO. Patrick Crayton would start on this team.

Crayton would be a viable option on this team.

I'll bet you anything that it was taped. Whether or not we'll ever see those tapes is another story.

If I were Dez Bryant, entering the NFL with the "diva" tag after having been suspended at the college level, I'd want to fly as far under the radar as possible in my rookie season. I would not be looking to add any new targets to myself. It says something to me that he's this outspoken.

I guess I'm not following: Do I think that it was wrong for the Dolphins to leak this? No worse that Dez leaking the question originally. Do I think that the Dolphins are trying to save face? Possibly. I invision a scenario where Jeff was told by the NFL or by the Dolphins to issue his apology. He did what he was told, issued the apology and moved on. His co-workers thought he got the shaft, and came out to support him. Do I think that it's possible that Dez Bryant is now lieing to save face. Possibly. He did lie to the NCAA in an attempt to save himself.

We'll never know, unless Richard Nixon had hidden recorders in Miami as well. Personally I think the truth lies closer to what the Dolphins are saying than what Dez is saying, but that's based on nothing but a gut feeling.

As I said in the other thread... he looks fast to me on the highlight reel, but I don't know that that will translate to the next level when tackles are bigger, faster and stronger. I wasn't impressed with his moves, as he pretty much just rushed around the outside and took advantage of tackles poor footwork. I hope I'm just being a "glass is half empty" guy, and I hope he proves me wrong.

I don't think that having a fast 40 time is really important to lineman holding blocks. The key is the ability to read the block, make a decision and hit the hole. You can be the fastest guy in the league, but if you juke back and forth in the backfield too much, you'll never get to utilize your speed. Fast 40 times are good for breaking away from the safety on a TD run, or getting around the corner.

Usually just the White Label, but I don't discriminate against black, green or Rye.
