Given your choice, would you rather have Eric Berry or Jarius Byrd for the same money?
-
Ideal knowing who was available at each spot. 1) Eiffert 2a) EJ Manuel - we'll never know if he would have made it. If he's gone Woods was my pick. 2b) Woods - we'll never know if he would have made it 3) Nico Johnson - ILB Alabama 4) Barrett Jones - OG/C Alabama - Had we not had so many needs, Lattimore was a great risk/reward pick here. after that I'd be lying if I said I knew who 50% of the players were. I don't like taking a kicker in the 6th though.

Buddy Nix on WGR this morning

I took away that Byrd is most likely not going to remain with the Bills. "We're not going to mortgage the Buffalo Bills for one player"... that tells me they're still really far apart. -
Rd 1, Pick #16: QB EJ Manuel - Florida St.
DasNootz replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills' scouting and coaching staff thought that we was clearly a step above the next 3, and the future face of the franchise, it was the right time to take him. By pick 41 Jacksonville, Oakland, Arizona, the Jets, and the Titans all could concieveably take a QB. If they thought he was special, it's likely they thought others would covet him too, and he'd be in the top 2 on others' boards. If we had swapped with SF, would one of those teams have been willing to do a Minnesota-type move to move back before 31?... we'll never know. We didn't have the ammo to come back into the first without sacrificing next year's 1st in my opinion. With our holes, there's no way we would have given up a deal like what Minnesota did. -
I would be happy if the first two days looked like this.

I'm not going to sugar coat it... I hate it. First I don't like Mingo as our pick in the first. The next three rounds are just taking the biggest name, without regaurd to our current needs.

Jamarcus Russell Making a Comeback

If Garcia can make him into a legitimate NFL QB, he'll make more money as QB coach than he did as a QB. -
Anyone watching the blogger mock draft on ESPN now?

No QB and no RB taken in round 1... when was the last time you saw that? -
Unregistered "loaded" firearm in a NYC airport = $250 fine + $120 surcharge Throwing an empty McDonalds cup out the window in disgust while listening to the Bills postgame show on your way home from the stadium (Thruway) = $250 fine + $120 surcharge. Moral of the story, guns don't kill people, paper cups do.

The one position we should not take at 8
DasNootz replied to bufffan031's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Glenn is a servicable to good LT, but he could be a Great RT. If a dominant LT is available at 8, you'd be setting a formidable line for years to come. -
Even Albany would make more sense for the name change.

The best chance would be a rookie from a team that hasn't been active in free agency, or a player that is out of the league after one season. With so few teams you could probably cut down the 6 degrees to 3 or 4 for most all players that have played in the last decade. It'd be like playing the Kevin Bacon game if there were only 32 movies ever made. -

Rewatching the video... that kid is just sitting there sizing "the bully" up, waiting for a moment to pop him. I have zero problem with the punch or the subsequent kick. He saw a problem, took care of it, and backed off without getting arrested or further pounding on the drunk.

Taking your kid to a Bills game
DasNootz replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We're also expecting our first child in the next month. I plan on taking her when she's 12 +/- provided she's a football fan. I'm 31 now and started going to games with my father when I was 9 (just in time for the Glory Days). We sat in the cheap seats then and I loved it, but it's a different place now. I also went to Foxboro when I was 12 and was terrified for 3 hours after watching bottles get thrown at the Bills fans' bus as they pulled in the parking lot. That said, I'd wouldn't take a son under 16 to sit in the endzones or upper decks now unless we were with a large group that took up multiple rows, and a daughter... never. In the club seats I'd feel more much more comfortable at 12. On the flip side, my wife and I are both big baseball fans, and I have no problem taking an infant to MLB game. -
Mine included a morning of white water rafting, dinner and drinks with the boys and several trips to the ATM for one last dance... I've also gone to shooting ranges, played golf, gone to a baseball game etc.. Basic recipe - some fun group activity, followed by a meal and drinks, followed by strippers and/or debauchery.
