  1. Nah. I wouldn’t ever predict 19-0, that’s just silly talk. But this team? I believe in this team. I believe in this coach, and you can call Josh Allen anything you like...That’s. My. Quarterback. It’s 2020. This year has been insane. Everyone everywhere is waiting for the feel good story. This is it. The Bills win it all during a pandemic, and years from now, people will talk about how 2021 started.
  2. F it. I’m calling my shot. Bills get their first win...their first FEBRUARY win...this season.
  3. It shows just how alone Josh Allen was in terms of producing points for this team. He scored 29 of the team’s 35 TDs on the season. That’s ridiculous. For context, NFL MVP Lamar Jackson’s teammates scored 21 TDs in which he had zero involvement.
  4. I loved Becton as a prospect, and I think, in time, he’ll be a great LT. That said, I’ve seen what Jerry Hughes speed, bend, and creativity does to rookie LTs, and I can assure you that Becton will have his hands full. Also remember that Addison comes off the right side too, so it’s not just Hughes he’ll be dealing with. I expect a LOT of max protect to give the Jets receivers time to find space in Buffalo’s zone. The downside for them is that it take the Jets’ best matchup pieces—Bell and Herndon—out of pass routes in critical situations. Of course I expect Buffalo to counter by mixing in a lot of Cover-1/Robber to keep pressure on their 7-man protection sets and take advantage of their superior secondary. If I’m the Jets, the matchup I’m most worried about is Edmunds—perhaps one of the best plus-1 rushers in the game—being singled up on Herndon. That’s a complete mismatch; there are quality OTs that struggle with Edmunds length/speed.

  6. Wouldn’t surprise me to be honest. They’re very deep at DL, and injuries can easily mount there. I’m sure AJE will see the field plenty in due time.
  7. Perhaps he has added sufficient weight to do so—ever think of that? Huh? Did ya? 🤣
  8. I assumed it would be over Oliver in the same fashion that Jordan Phillips was listed over Oliver last year. Looks to me like they’re going to rotate guys at those spots.
  9. I never mentioned his tackling; it’s a total lack of effort on a play that scored the deciding points that made me call him out. I predict that Jalen doesn’t see year 3 of this deal.
  10. I wouldn’t say it’s a surprise, but Ford will be at RG. Also Quinton Jefferson listed as starting DT.
  11. Remember when he got torched by Kelvin Benjamin? Ramsey looked like a fool in that game. He got beat badly by an out of shape and utterly disinterested Kelvin Benjamin, and then made a business decision on Allen’s TD run in the 3rd quarter. He’s talented, but he’s not even close to the player he thinks he is.
  12. Jersey number updates: Hodgins switched from 87 to 16 Winters switched from 63 to 66
  13. Oh come on now. Nothing that happens in week 1 establishes any team as, or precludes any team from becoming, a Super Bowl contender.
  14. They’re both going to play. A lot. I’m sure one guy will probably take a back seat if there are ball security issues, but other than that I think you’ll see them used in different situations.
  15. What you’re saying is definitely true about their tendencies to this point, and it’s a salient point. My opinion is that the tendency to let the foot off the gas is more a symptom of having an offense that was better suited to drain clock than to score points. I don’t think that’s the case this year, so I expect a different approach.
  16. 2-1 with one of those coming in a game where Buffalo’s kicker was injured on a cheap shot and therefore missed 2 FGs that would’ve otherwise won the game, and the other win came in a 13-point output against Buffalo’s backups in a meaningless game. I like Darnold, and I think he’ll end up a good QB, but touting his apparent efficiency against Buffalo is a misrepresentation IMO. Like I said: on paper it looks like a mismatch. But week 1 is always weird, and it’ll probably be weirder this year.
  17. Darnold has played “fairly well” against Buffalo? In 3 career games, he averaged 5.4 YPA and has 3 TDs with 2 INTs. In those games, the Jets’ offense has produced 27, 8, and 13 points. And that includes a game against the backups in week 17 last year. I mean, he hasn’t 💩 himself, but I would say he’s been mediocre at best.
  18. Nuts to that. A win IS a win, and that’s even more true this year.
  19. DVOA can be useful, but cmon, TB allowed 449 points in 2019, only 3 teams were worse. Yes, they have a lot of talent at WR, and a very good offensive staff. Their OL has some weak points, and they have a LONG way to go with their run game. Brady is still a good QB, but he’s not TOM BRADY anymore. He hasn’t been TOM BRADY in 3 years. Anybody expecting 5,000 yards from him (like Winston had in 2019) probably needs to lower their expectations.
  20. So Miami at 10-6 doesn’t qualify as hot-take territory for you? Very good then. Of course, “Tyreek Hill is completely innocent and a model father” also doesn’t qualify as a hot-take for you, so I have to consider that as part of the equation.
