I think this is more perception than reality. Look at how many games he’s actually missed in his career and I bet you’d be surprised.

People don’t like hearing it, but he’s a huge part of their offense. This isn’t a small injury for them.

You should go with Herbert. Allen is a stud, but one positive player in the next 24 hours and the game gets the kibosh. Can’t risk it...plus, Herbert has been solid.

They’re also the worst team as far as bandwagon fans go. As soon as they win a playoff game, everyone you’ve ever known is a huge Steelers fan. And they all say the same thing when challenged on the fact that they’ve literally never been a Steeler fan: “well yeah, my favorite team is [_______], but everyone knows I’ve always been a Steelers fan too”. Let me see if I understand this... The Titans are mad? Like, the team that ignored protocol, had an outbreak, got warned to implement additional measures, ignored those, got caught, and then decided to play the “well you can’t prove it” game—that team is mad? How do you think the Bills feel? You caused 2 of their games to be rescheduled, despite the fact that they’re apparently following the rules. You’ve (theoretically) put their players at risk of illness. You’ve risked a forfeit, which would cost them a week’s salary. The Titans are mad? The Titans better get a dog; they haven’t seen mad.

I don’t think any of us prefer a forfeit; I do think that Tennessee deserves to forfeit for their negligence.

I continue to believe that they’ll suspend the game and move on—make it up in a week 18 if necessary. It buys them time to decide what to do about the Titans, the missed game checks, a potential forfeit, etc. while not messing up the schedule

By NFL definition that would not qualify as exposure—no different than if he sacked Allen during the game.

He did...and the player and team still got punished. And I agree on that second point, which is why I think they’ll scrap the game and make no decision at this time.

I think a simple “you should ‘fess up now because we’ll subpoena personal devices as part of our investigation if we have to” would solicit some honesty

I think they’ll cancel Sunday’s game and continue to investigate—they’ll subpoena phones and check to see whether there are any smoking gun messages that indicate a planned meet-up that corroborates the photos...and if they find it, then it goes down as a forfeit. Just pure speculation on my part

They don’t actually have to decide that now...the NFL could conceivably abandon the game and see what happens throughout the season. Of course, making a decision later could leave fans to conclude that the NFL is picking and choosing their approach to put certain teams in a better playoff position
