Well, if you are comfortable where you are and feel that you'll get your share of GM opportunities in the next few offseasons, then contract length makes sense as a bargaining chip. I'd want a chance to hire my own HC and be able to offer him a contract that matches mine in term.

I think it's natural that a new HC would be most successful against the teams he's seen the most often...probably why Detroit pulled off an upset against NE in week 3. Plus--as you know--it's a matchup league more than ever. Teams like Miami and the Jets, with slow-to-react LBs and undisciplined EDGE defenders, are far more likely to give up big rushing numbers to a QB than your more disciplined teams like NE. That said, it'll be interesting to see the direction of the AFC East over the next 2 seasons. You've got several dynamics at play between the 2018 QB class playing out, how NE handles Brady's continued decline and succession plan, and the Belichick coaching tree vs the outsiders.

Good hire for them. Gase will either thrive immediately or he'll be one-and-done IMO...I doubt there's much room for middle ground

I feel like there's a whole lot of revisionism in this post. Watkins was nothing but a decoy? He had almost 2,000 yards receiving in his first 29 games. With EJ, Orton, & Tyrod Taylor. In an offense that attempted fewer passes than any other in the league. What Bills' WR has come even close to matching that production since his departure? If Gilmore and Darby don't fit your scheme, then the scheme is the problem. Gilmore has been, arguably, the best CB in the league since leaving in FA. Darby started for a Super Bowl champion team. There can be no excusing the bungling of the backup QB, WR, and OL positions up through this offseason. Trying to do so is an exercise in futility. I like Beane and McDermott. I think they have a shot to put a legitimate contender together. But let's be intellectually honest in our evaluations is all I'm saying

That's a fairly likely scenario. I just don't see the logic in trading him away only to turn around and trade 2 picks for Benjamin. If the idea was simply to accumulate picks for the pursuit of QB1, so be it. Trading for Benjamin flew in the face of that. Oh well, what's done is done. Time to focus on the possibly-better-than-2014 class of WRs coming up next April.

So, if they were to gamble on a WR in 2017, maybe gamble on a guy that was a former 4th overall pick, that runs a 4.4, and had previously shown flashes of dominance? If only there were a way that they could've had such a player; one for whom they had to give up no compensation; one with which their starting QB already had a rapport. Too had such an option didn't exist.

Thanks guys! As sad as it may seem, by the last one, we were almost used to it. The worst part of the whole ordeal is having all of this testing, examining, etc only to have multiple doctors say that there's absolutely no reason for it. Mrs. Bandit is unbelievable; the most resilient woman I know. The happy ending was worth it all. We have our 7 month old daughter, who we were able to name after her late grandmother that we lost in an accident almost 6 years ago... ... and wouldn't you know: she looks JUST like her.

4 times for us; and one of those would've been our second set of twins. It's brutal, and my heart goes out to anyone that has to go through it.

Not to throw stones, but you do realize that he played in 48 of a possible 49 games in his first 3 seasons (including playoffs), right? He tore an ACL and then had hamstring issues the following year. The "he's always injured" crowd is way, way overstating things. Look back at his college career, he started 41 consecutive games at Stanford as a So, Jr, and Sr.

JMO, but I wouldn't call either of their tackles excellent. I would say that Stanley has been solid, and that Brown was better than expected as a rookie.
