You need to be a bit more honest in your evaluations if you want your point to be received. - Zay Jones is not a borderline bust in any way, shape, or form. He hasn't been a WR1 or WR2, but you should probably acknowledge that he had 7 TDs last season--a number that tied him with JuJu Smith-Schuster (in the same number of games) and was one behind Julio Jones for the season. - Dawkins wasn't poor last year. Yes, he regressed from 2017 form, but he was hardly the guy that was getting his QB killed out there. Also, he wasn't drafted in round 3, he was drafted in round 2 after Buffalo traded up. - Matt Milano has been far, far better than "decent". In 5 starts as a rookie, he had 29 solo tackles, 7 TFLs, 6 QB hits, 2 PDs, 1 INT, 1 FF, 1 FR, and 1 TD. In his 2nd year, he raised his game and put up better numbers in 13 starts. I'm also not sure how you define him as "undersized". He played at 223 lbs...very similar to guys like Deion Jones, Jaylon Smith, Telvin Smith, and Cory Littleton--all of whom play in different schemes. Also, he wasn't drafted in round 4, he was drafted in round 5. That last paragraph is just silliness. It's a massive overstatement of an opinion that can't be backed up by any fact. Again, on its face, your position would be reasonable if you didn't go bananas with hyperbole.

Brian Gaine fired as Texans GM

Wow...I'd heard that something went down and it wasn't performance-related, but that's a pretty heavy accusation. -
Would Bills Fans Cheer an Injured Opponent?

What an all-time scumbag he was...I'll never forget the Turgeon cheapshot. One of the all-time dirtiest plays in sports history. -

Really? You guys haven't watched him play? He's constantly spearing people and taking cheap shots whenever posssible. Just last season, in the MNF game against Buffalo, he called for a fair catch and not only blocked the gunner, but did so by taking a helmet-to-helmet shot at him: Note that this was AFTER he called for a fair catch, so it's 100% a non-contact play. Edelman knows it; this is purely an intent-to-injure situation. Not at all unusual for him. It's what he does. He was fined for 3 separate cheap shots in Week 16 alone: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/12/29/julian-edelman-fined-63504-for-three-separate-fouls/ And wouldn't you know...one of them was the EXACT SAME THING he did in the previous game: He's a cheapshot artist. Dirtiest player in the game, and yes, that includes Vontaze Burfict -
Well, unless you're staring the 1st overall pick in the face and you have an Andrew Luck on your hands, which happens once a generation, you're unlikely to get a risk-free pick at QB. Mahomes was definitely a less-risky pick at 10 than Allen was at 7 (with or without a trade-up), so I guess I can't see the logic in passing on him there. As for the Brady comparison, I guess there's a point there. The way I'm looking at it is that you aren't talking about a guy that was widely-considered as barely-draftable in an era that didn't place anywhere near as much emphasis on the QB position as today's game. With Mahomes, you're talking about a near-consensus first-round QB in a pass-centric era of NFL football, and a team that hasn't had stability at the position in 2 decades traded out of the spot in which he was picked. That he went to a team with an established veteran QB and established offensive playcaller and became the best player in the NFL in his 2nd season makes it even worse IMO.

Would Bills Fans Cheer an Injured Opponent?

I said for years that there was only one player in the NFL who I disliked enough that I would cheer if he were injured: Julian Edelman. Scumbag. Dirtiest player in the NFL, and a guy I wouldn't have on my roster for free. Then, he got hurt in the 2017 preseason and missed a year; apparently I was wrong. I didn't cheer. I actually felt worse because I said it. -

I was at the 2000 home game against the Chargers when our fans cheered our own QB getting hurt. Let's not act like we're above cheering injuries in Buffalo. I was utterly disgusted then, and I'd be utterly disgusted in the future. -
Middle ground on the 2017 draft: the Bills had a successful draft...but not as successful as it could have (or should have) been. Ultimately, it won't matter as long as Josh Allen becomes a franchise QB. If he doesn't, well, then 2017's trade-down is basically looking like the biggest draft mistake in franchise history.

He played at Shea's a few months back. I couldn't make it, but I managed to encourage a few of the youngsters in our office to go--they were absolutely blown away. He is easily one of the best guitarists I've ever heard.

Do we? Seriously asking, because I haven't seen a lot of it...now, to be fair, I've been a bit distracted by a 7-month old that refuses to sleep at night, so my focus on the board lately has been on-the-field stuff more than anything else. To me it appears that we have a few "NOIs", a few more "excuse makers", and then whole bunch of folks that range from "warranted skepticism" to "full-on optimism" and everywhere in between. Personally, I think this should be an 8-win team at a minimum if the OL/WR on-the-fly-rebuild works as intended. I feel better about the OL part of that equation than the WR part (as I think most folks do).

Correct. https://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/joe-b-7-observations-from-2019-buffalo-bills-minicamp-day-one "After the running backs were stuffed on 2nd-and-3 and 3rd-and-3 respectively, Allen somehow zipped a pass between the outstretched hands of the defensive linemen and into the hands of the quick slanting John Brown, which picked up the first down and extended the drive. On the next set of downs, Allen found Dawson Knox to cut the distance in half on second down, but rookie running back Devin Singletary fell down as the intended receiver to force another fourth down. Been there. My first real serious relationship as an adult ending in a painful breakup. My girlfriend at the time was just graduating college, and I was about 2 years post-grad. I started the relationship in not-willing-to-grow-up mode, and after her urging me to grow up, commit, and take things to the next level, I got on board. I started making her a priority over things like friends and hobbies, which I thought would make her happy. Then, a funny thing happened: she started to change. In her final semester at school, she made a whole new group of friends and, for the first time in her life, had a really active social circle. She started wanting to spend more time with her friends and less with me. We had moved right past each other on the way out of each other's lives. We both saw it, but I felt like it would be admitting failure to break up; that somehow I had too much invested in the relationship to just start over. She was more pragmatic than that; she felt that we simply had grown apart, so she ended it. Man, I was angry. I felt like she'd worked really hard to convince me to change so that I could meet her emotional needs, only to see her change into the very same type of person that I was at the beginning. I felt cheated. Looking back on it now, I'm actually really grateful that she ended it when she did. Had we stayed together, it would've gotten a lot worse. That probably didn't help much, so my apologies for that. The only advice that I can give you is to move on as quickly as possible. Yes, I know that you are hurting and probably aren't ready to act like it didn't happen, but I suggest that you fake it for a while. Go out. Party. Whatever your personal cut-loose method is, go for it. Go on a few dates with girls for the specific purpose of not taking things too seriously, and remember what it's like to have fun getting to know someone new.

Report: Pats have discussed Kyle Rudolph trade
thebandit27 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, there's going to be a bloodletting of sorts. You can bet that Griffen and Linval Joseph will be gone, which will get them under the cap, but they'll have more work to do beyond just those two. They'll probably have to let Reilly Reiff go and re-work Harrison Smith's contract if they want to avoid trading Diggs.
