Moss was better as a pass catcher and blocker. That alone means he gets more snaps, imo. He also got the Gore role of short yardage/goal line and closing games out. The Bills seemed much more successful throwing the ball out of heavy formations than running but I like the tandem and whatever role Breida carves out is ok with me. Both averaged over 4 ypc and much like the reported death of Mark Twain, I think Moss and Singletary's shortcomings have been greatly exaggerated. That is my big takeaway from Erik's breakdown. I loved those clips of Moss stepping into the gap, sticking the blitzer and anchoring. One moment I fear is a RB cutting an oncoming blitzer who then tumbles into Josh's plant leg with his full weight upon it. Yikes!

The only solid opinion I have about Jimmy Garoppolo is that his female doppelganger is QB1.

Chris Simms put him in his top 5. He does not understand why there is not more talk about him but said there were other people in the scouting world that liked him too. So, where is he available? Maybe he's a similar draft value to Gabriel Davis. I like the idea of a trade down that gets them 5 in the first three rounds. To expand somewhat on this, he has the Bills roster at 6, behind TB, Cle. GB, Dal and Sea. I think he has the Bills too low at RB, OL, DL but these do match much of the consensus thinking about the Bills predraft needs. Cle at #2 is original but I am way too tired of the constant love for all things Cowboys.

He does call it crazy early which makes it self aware but still interesting. I made a post last year about his predraft unit grades which I thought was interesting as well. His assessment was comprehensive, meaningful in terms of draft needs and obviously wrong in terms of the state of the 2020 Bills roster. He had them at ~23 and was way too down on Josh. This does have a Fantasy Football intent as that is his niche as a writer but I think the strength of roster units, version March of 2021, that his strength of schedules are based upon, is the more discussion worthy content. The Bills lack a physically dominant WR like Evans or Metcalfe. I think that the Bills tendency to use multiple TE sets near the goal line is their answer to that. At all the other parts of the field they are tough to defend and may be the "best."

The gamelog has it as 2nd and 10 at the 20. The highlight shows the first down marker as just shy of the 10. So, the ball was technically not "in" the RZ but who knows what counts as official by NFL standards. I always thought that the RZ was "inside" the 20, cross the 20 and the play by play announcer would say the Bills have entered the "Whoever has paid us" RZ (for ex. Murphy would say Hunt Real Estate?) But it's a classic example of splitting hairs, I suppose. In 2017 he had 21 punt returns, 3 KO returns and 3 passes caught. Those possessions accounted for 6 fumbles. I think they might have all been on the punt returns.

His body of work as a returner (punts mostly) was horrible as a Bronco and it probably got him released. The Bills have not let him do enough returns to make me confident in having him take over as their primary guy.

Warner took some issue to the throw Josh made without resetting his feet. Josh does it often and makes nice throws that way. The release is quicker (no readjustment of his feet) and the open stance, sidearm delivery puts the ball around the oncoming pass rusher with little chance for them to bat the ball. It's the kind of throw a 2nd baseman often makes to start a double play. The quicker release, arm whip throw can still be made accurately. I think that nasty throw Josh made to John Brown at the goal line vs. the LV Raiders (should have been ruled a TD) was made that way. John Brown was running to the sideline and out of time and the throw had to get there quick.

I took it that he heard the stories of others who lost everything of importance in their life to their disease and that it could have soon been his story as well. Not despicable, nor is it saying that he is "above" them. They gave him insight on where his life was headed if he did not face his alcoholism and it has helped him get one year of sobriety. He offered to talk to others about if they wanted.

I'd add a play from Josh's first NFL start. Melvin Ingram attempted to sack Josh but Josh decided to turn it into a rodeo event and took about 10 steps with Ingram wrapped around his waist. So, it was sort of like when he trucked Van Noy but fumbled it at the end (which did not count.) This one ended with an interception which did count but I thought to myself that I'd never seen a QB do that to a DE before. Ingram can't complete the sack.

Given the cities he has played in, the coaches and offensive systems to which he has been exposed, the general good will he has throughout the league and with the NFL media, his sense of humor, strong personality, well developed communication skills and Tony Romo making $17+ million annually, Fitz should really consider seeking a color analyst role. I think he'd kill it.

In 2019 Josh was objectively good among his NFL peers in the 4th quarter, RZ possessions, 3rd and 8+, intermediate throws 10-20 and on the road. Those are game situations where QB play really matters to wins and losses and while there may have been a "growing sense" of good "in spite of" him, that does not mean it was an accurate take on what was really going on. I would respect any outside opinion that took that view of his 2019 season.

With all those WNY senior citizens who have seasonally or permanently relocated to Florida, I suspect the Bills to be a strong #2 there.

For the record, you are correct. I saw the best camera angle of it on Twitter and it is as you say, Damn if I can find it again so just take my word for it. This particiulasr clip had a CHCH logo on the screen but the video locked up and when refreshed I went back to the top of the timeline. The entire video story was over 2 minutes.

I do not know what Andy was chewing but he was working it real hard before that play. I think that was a tell.
