  1. Can't fathom that eichel is going to get even better. He is going to be an all time great.
  2. I would be completely fine with no replays in any sport. I love the variance of human error. I'd feel the same way if my teams get screwed and or my fantasy and gambling interests get screwed
  3. I think the general thought is if the umpire didnt make the incorrect call, Utley could have in theory decided to go back and occupy second if he knew he was safe. He was called out so he went to the dugout.
  4. same here. Maybe I'm poisoned due to the Tannehill vs Buffalo sample space... but Tannehill to me isn't going to take off and get to the next level. Without that defense performing at a top-5 level... that team is a sitting duck on everyone's schedule. Not all that different than the Bills... but IMO T Mobile is still a bit of an unknown which gives him a higher ceiling, and we also have a lot of offensive weapons over Miami.
  5. they are privately owned. They do not franchise. Im not sure how it is now... but about 25 years ago some people I know wanted to open one on grand Island and the owners said no way. Mighty Taco's time to strike is in the past IMO. A lot of better options out there in big markets and MT has declined in quality in the past 20 years. Got the nostalgia/culture factor here in WNY... and we also had almost no tex-mex options forever.
  6. Murder House had a great first 6 episodes or so, then petered out, and got outright stupid at the end. Asylum was my favorite. Beginning to end I thought it was outstanding. Coven was OK. I ended up losing interest about 2/3 of the way through though and never finished, and never watched the Freak Show one.
  7. No such thing as a bad win on the road on the nfl
  8. I think the fact it occurred in and decided a playoff game between the biggest 2 markets will trump the superstar factor
  9. I agree. Don't really have a dog in the fight but this was an unfortunate and unfair thing to happen to the mets. I'm sure the rules will change this winter around breaking up a double play. I also agree that video review has no place in baseball
  10. The rule apparently is on a blown call there that is overturned, the runner is awarded the base even if he didn't touch it. Imo that slide was way over the top and dirty.
  11. I think it would be fine. I believe i read it's more like 17%. A good number are likely from Southern Ontario like st catharines, welland, ft erie etc. Many canadians come for the atmosphere. I'm sure a toronto team would serve a different clientele. There is an insane number of people in southern ontario. I think the bills could continue to draw over 10k from there. You also would expect a toronto team to create more nfl interest across the border and possibly more ticket holders here.
  12. It's amazing the nfl has turned their players into some sort of stock exchange
  13. It was fun... but I'm out if this is true
  14. She is the 2nd... so it's quite a bit more work. My wife doesn't go to games. I go with a group of friends. I have been able to attend without missing much yet (bpo plays disney during the pAckers game was gutting). It is huge the inlaws are a couple miles away... I still intend on the full tailgate experience... but we'll see. Wife is cool with me keeping the fun things that make me me.
  15. Thanks! Still made the colts and pats game and will attend the Bengals game. My friend and I made some money on this game. That's great. Makes the decision to renew a slam dunk. That's the way ticket sales need to be in this market. That's why the bills were 'advertising' they were almost to capping sth all summer. You create the cap and s waiting line to get in the door... and suddenly you will have perpetual 98% renewals. It has worked with the sabres since 2007 despite not winning a playoff series and only making it twice. The tradeoff is you're going to have to deal with resellers
  16. I had a kid this week. Couldn't make it and sold the tickets. I guess I'll turn in my "fan card"
  17. We will see what happens when this team is pressing the cap and how assets are managed in transition. Thats a new ball of wax... But I would have to say that Whaley has done a superb job stocking this team. Nix primed the tank a bit, but Whaley has hit on a lot of great picks and moves. No matter what happens, I will always defend the Watkins deal as well. That other 1st round pick was at a position where there was no impact player to be had. Cameron Erving was taken by the Browns (a G). Whaley turned around and drafted Darby at #50 which more than makes up for it. No 1st round pick this year and he goes and gets 3 starters on a talented team. Are you kidding me? *Also acknowledge the entire NCAA scouting team under Whaley) Whaley has been able to find gems throughout the draft. Missed on a few trades, but sending low picks for known commodities that have upside and value like Bryce Brown and Cassel arent bad moves at all Preston Brown. Good god. I also really like the Charles Clay move. Have a TE like that is critical in the current NFL (the NFL that Greg Roman has brought us into). Watching him play, Clay is a freak. Also sniped him from a Division rival.
  18. Does the article end at the beginning of the tailgate? Imo the more time that passes, the more rws will bEcome a destination
  19. Just stuck in a cycle of poor management and decisions. Now have a stigma as well that will make FAs and Coaches, etc think twice before accepting contracts. I can feel for them. We were stuck in a similar spin-cycle. You can say that we were pulling out of it, but I disagree. Would have still had Marrone and Hackett IMO... Who knows what happens with Hughes, no McCoy, no Clay, Felton, Harvin, Incognito, etc. Darius may not even be re-signed yet. Who knows how much say the new coaches had in bringing Tyrod Taylor aboard. The Bills have gotten much better at drafting and were always a few steps ahead of the Browns for the most part... but having fresh new ownership and basically re-energizing the 'brand' is crucial in breaking the slog and at least entering the group of teams who can contend on a semi-regular basis.
  20. Im a Manning fan. IMO the best QB of my "era" that spans back to about '85 With that said, I don't think he lasts the season. It isn't sustainable with that line and that running game. He is taking serious shots right now that Brady, Rogers, etc don't seem to be subjected to... and shots he hasn't really have had on the regular through his career.
  21. If I were in charge, Papelbon and Williams would both be off the payroll the next day.
  22. I really feel like Buffalo looks like #2 in the AFC. I think Manning gets carted off with that offense with their line and nonexistent running game vs our D-line and (hopefully) creative blitzing. Cincinnati would be the only other contender I would think. We'll see what happens when they visit. ...and I normally hold a relatively pessimist view on things.
  23. How come each time they are caught cheating, they suddenly get "mad" and turn into an unbeatable record breaking juggernaut who runs up the score? I think bb is a great coach, and I think it takes a lot of talent for brady to dependably deliver the footballs to the receiver the plays call for... but this team isn't that good.
  24. My biggest takeaway was Romans offense taking shape. Game looked similar to when the 49ers smoked us a few years back. The bills had an answer for any strengths on Miamis d
  25. in a perfect world, Id like to see a low-frills type of facility like Cleveland/Pittsburgh but designed more like Seattle with a lot of focus on fan experience/involvement in the way of sightlines, maximizing noise, some level of uniqueness/shape to distinguish its the Bills' stadium, etc... Then build a brick and mortar amphitheater somewhere in the inner/outer harbor. Between the stadium, amphitheater, and arena... we have a great venue for a lot of events... plus the ballpark.
