  1. itll get swept under the rug with the mound of other stuff. Everyones just jealous. Dungy and Manning cant beat Brady so they are jealous. Everyone is haters. The NFL wants to destroy the Patriots. No proof without a reasonable doubt. Circumstantial. Just shut up and beat them on the field. Everybody does it. They would 'win anyways' etc...
  2. My #1 target in my keeper league this year.
  3. It seems to have completely made 'cold' the worst factor of all time and terrible for everyone... no way that erie, niagara county and much of the Adirondacks are worse to live naturally than almost every square inch of Texas, oklahoma, kansas, etc just because we have winter. We also don't have major droughts, weeks during the summer that outside is dangerous, tornados, hurricanes, bugs and reptiles that can and want to kill you, etc... Niagara county has a natural wonder of the world, wine country, freshwater river, whitewater, and a freshwater great lake. Not that I would expect wny to be terribly high on the list that includes climate... it just seems whatever rationale they used just sweeps west to east and cold too hot. Too neat where it should be more of a checkerboard. The bottom of Florida ranked very high... my god I would not want to live there.
  4. Yes. There is a huge difference than just having a screw loose and right clicking/saving photos as an 'end user' and what "Jared" did here. Both bad. I kind of knew a guy who lost his wife painfully through long illness and for some reason coped with it by collecting kiddie porn. Never paid for it, just somehow found volumes of stuff on the internet. He was caught and was completely cooperative (and ashamed), he never paid for it, produced it, etc... just a lonely guy dealing with a lot of ****. He got some time for it and will forever be labelled and rightly so. *I just worked with him back 12 years ago. me and my friend were curious about him and googled him a few weeks ago. My guess is Jared was a fattie and never was able to have any interaction with girls. Also liked porn as a young adult and that was his women interaction. He got 'slim' but more importantly wealthy and something told him he needed to make up for lost time with the young chicks through all this horrible ****.
  5. I'm down with this. I really don't care anymore about off field character. To me, the NFL is a prison league. Too many guys suck to keep track and pass selective judgement. I find it more enjoyable with that mindset. I used to hate dancing after sacks and TDs and such, but learned to embrace it and it made the game more enjoyable back in the day. To the point I get angry when flags are thrown for celebrations now.
  6. there are various levels/layers he could fall on. If he just searches and right clicks/saves stuff then he is not right, but not necessarily a really bad criminal... If he pays for them, then it takes a significant step. That is aiding those who are the 'really' bad dudes If he 'orders' them and makes request and is directly connected to the producers, then it is much worse. Then at the top tier, if he is involved with taking the photos/videos/etc then that is really really bad. Ill say the thing about the 16 year old sex doesn't sound good for his character in that he was 'passively' pushing the legal line in his viewing pleasure. edit: it seems like some deets have come down. Jared deserves some hard time.
  7. Somewhere in a box in my dad's attic, I have a 1985 "participation trophy". It stands about 3 inches high (lol) and has "1985 RED SOX" on it. I was 6 and I was thrilled. We won 1 game that season (I think). Some parents banded their older/bigger kids together and they dominated. I recall one game against a bunch of big fat kids who went on to be miscellaneous nobodies, they would chant 'batter cant hit' and 'swing batter'... all encouraged by their "coach" the entire !@#$ing game. We lost by like 16 runs and parents/coaches almost came to blows over this travesty. 4 of us on that team became extremely good high school athletes and played collegiate sports. We all survived. I recall getting trophies most years in little league and also house hockey when I played... travel hockey too I think... usually at an awesome pool party of some sort (maybe we shouldn't have been allowed to do that either as losers?) it didnt invalidate the desire to win. Teams who won got to celebrate, got bigger and nicer trophies, and had bragging rights at school for a year. The little pieces of plastic aren't superbowl rings and not the goal. The participation trophy angst is stupid and misguided. Off the top of my head, the most successful people I know actually kind if sucked at sports.
  8. I think a lot of it is probably related to the amount of load these knees need to take. These guys are heavier and faster. It just takes one cut/stop that your Quad says "too much Ill pass on this one" for a catastrophic knee tear.
  9. I like to go early. We meet in buffalo and cruise down abbott and park on the north side. Typically... it's best to park in a non-bills-owned lot so you can get there before 9. Around 9 is when everything is at a standstill because the bills' Lots open at 9. After the game you either rum for your car and get out asap... or relax and hang for an hour then leave
  10. yeah. Some of the movies were crude. Especially some comedies... but they didnt over-do it which would be "required" today. Slapshot comes to mind. Also "The Jerk". Its about a white guy who thinks he is a poor black child but he has no rhythm listening to the Blues... but hears (white) Roger Wolfe Kahn on the radio and suddenly has some rhythm and needs to go find it.... lol.
  11. Dolphins and Bills should be very close to one another. A lot of people seem to be overestimating the Dolphins... I would put both them and the Bills in the 12-15 range.
  12. I like Elvis just because he is such a staple over such a long period of time. Chefs are alright I guess. Hate that Fireman Bill guy from the Jets, and also that Raiders guy that dresses like Kiss/Road Warriors. Big Dawg was cool... but lost all cred when he sued EA sports for being on Madden. Overall, dressing up is pretty lame.
  13. Yeah. Bauerle is a small time idiot blowhard. He comes across as a big baby. Just to show im not just a bitter 'leftie', I actually have a ton of respect for rush limbaugh. To carry a show and captivate an audience like that pretty much solo... every day.. that's mad skills. He is an all time great. It's one sided... but often times rush does introduce some very valid viewpoints. I feel the same about jim rome... however I really don't think the 'smack talk ' portion of his show is entertaining at all
  14. I grew up with video games and I do not like superhero movies. I was never into comic books. They are just so repetitive and like someone said... paint by numbers. Boring. I am hoping someday that everyone else decides they are done with this.
  15. the statutory part though seems to have come out of thin air
  16. that article doesnt seem real legit to me.
  17. Well, think about it. You have these young guys, usually at the top couple % of our species physically. Basically unlimited money, celebrity status and normally a life full of privilege and being told how great they are. I think a lot of these cases where a "no" is misunderstood... some of these guys are kind of incapable of processing that sort of rejection and press harder. Doesn't make it right, but I can see how this happens.
  18. I don't mean 'easy'... just not complicated. The basic premise, choices/options, and 'physics' of it are fairly simple. If you are on the 'plus side' of money and there are a million ways to spend it and investment vehicles... I am still learning. It is complex and numerous methods.
  19. Its tough. I have said it many times before... but public schools should teach Personal Finance. It is like the most important aspect of our society and we are thrown out there with access to high interest credit cards and student loans, car loans, etc with little training or common sense. Many parents lack the knowledge and common sense too, so it isn't like it gets passed down. My parents just forbid me from doing anything credit-wise. Couldnt do Columbia House, Credit Cards were fobidden, etc. Finances weren't talked about. We didn't have much money and my parents were pretty frugal. So I got out of college (with Student loan debt) and had to touch a hot stove a number of times and had to really take a step back and do a lot of research on my own. Was also very fortunate to have a decent enough paying job. Climbed out and now Personal Finance/investing is kind of a hobby, and I still learn things all the time. Getting out of debt is actually the easiest/least complicated part.
  20. no prob. I created an excel document with all my finances so its easy to plug in numbers. The 11th month payment would be only around $30 for option 1 and just of $60 for option 2. A lot of places give you 0% options for financing too. I would imagine quite a few furniture stores offer solutions.... just looked. Raymour and Flanigan off 0% for 12 months for a purchase over $1200 and you get 24 months over $2400.
  21. I just ran it based on excel based on $200 a month and assuming both cards are $25 minimum. Paying $175 to 19% and 25 to 9%... Card 1 will be done in 8 months and Card 2 will be done in 11. $130.76 in interest paid to the man. Paying $25 to 19% and $175 to 9%... Card 1 will be done in 11 months and Card 2 done in 4. $162.49 in interest paid to the man.
  22. Here Very roughly (doesnt take into account 1st month or final month interest) month 1 Pay $400 to card 1, $25 to card 2 Card 1 $900 Balance, $14.25 in interest Card 2 $575 Balance, $4.31 in interest Month 2 Card 1 $514.25 Balance, $8.14 in interest Card 2 $554.31 Balance, $4.16 in interest Month 3 Card 1 $122.39 Balance, $1.94 in Interest Card 2 $522.47 Balance $4.00 in interest Month 4 Card 1 Paid off Card 2 $225.80 Balance, $1.69 in Interest Month 5 Card 2 paid off with $227.49 payment $38.49 paid in interest Option 2: Pay $25 to Card 1, $400 to Card 2 Month 1 Card 1 $1275 Balance $20.18 in interest Card 2 $200 Balance $1.50 in interest Month 2 Card 1 $1070.18 Balance, $16.94 in interest Card 2 Paid Off Month 3 Card 1 $662.12 Balance, $10.48 in interest Card 2 Paid Off Month 4 Card 1 $247.60 Balance, $3.92 in interest Card 2 Paid Off Month 5 Card 1 Paid Off with $251.52 $53.02 Paid in interest The effects are minimized because you are paying over 20% of your total balance every month edit: Never mind, $200 a month makes it more crucial to attack the 19% first and minimum payment the 9%.
  23. the obvious advice is to never carry a balance on credit cards, especially ones with 19% interest. I went through a lot of poor decisions through college and the 1st half of my 20s. I was able to cut through about $50K in CC, Student Loan, and Car Loan debt after reading a few books on personal finance. Yes, highest interest first.
  24. you pay the higher interest rate 1st while minimum on the lower rate. Overall you come out on the other side with less money lost to interest. all equal Itll be like $20.50 a month for $1300, like $4.50 for the $600. Paying the smaller debt first is a mistake
  25. basically what the 1st response said.
