Patrick Kane--sexual assault allegations--

Well, think about it. You have these young guys, usually at the top couple % of our species physically. Basically unlimited money, celebrity status and normally a life full of privilege and being told how great they are. I think a lot of these cases where a "no" is misunderstood... some of these guys are kind of incapable of processing that sort of rejection and press harder. Doesn't make it right, but I can see how this happens. -
Credit card payment order. Which one first?

I don't mean 'easy'... just not complicated. The basic premise, choices/options, and 'physics' of it are fairly simple. If you are on the 'plus side' of money and there are a million ways to spend it and investment vehicles... I am still learning. It is complex and numerous methods. -

Its tough. I have said it many times before... but public schools should teach Personal Finance. It is like the most important aspect of our society and we are thrown out there with access to high interest credit cards and student loans, car loans, etc with little training or common sense. Many parents lack the knowledge and common sense too, so it isn't like it gets passed down. My parents just forbid me from doing anything credit-wise. Couldnt do Columbia House, Credit Cards were fobidden, etc. Finances weren't talked about. We didn't have much money and my parents were pretty frugal. So I got out of college (with Student loan debt) and had to touch a hot stove a number of times and had to really take a step back and do a lot of research on my own. Was also very fortunate to have a decent enough paying job. Climbed out and now Personal Finance/investing is kind of a hobby, and I still learn things all the time. Getting out of debt is actually the easiest/least complicated part. -
Credit card payment order. Which one first?

no prob. I created an excel document with all my finances so its easy to plug in numbers. The 11th month payment would be only around $30 for option 1 and just of $60 for option 2. A lot of places give you 0% options for financing too. I would imagine quite a few furniture stores offer solutions.... just looked. Raymour and Flanigan off 0% for 12 months for a purchase over $1200 and you get 24 months over $2400. -
Credit card payment order. Which one first?

I just ran it based on excel based on $200 a month and assuming both cards are $25 minimum. Paying $175 to 19% and 25 to 9%... Card 1 will be done in 8 months and Card 2 will be done in 11. $130.76 in interest paid to the man. Paying $25 to 19% and $175 to 9%... Card 1 will be done in 11 months and Card 2 done in 4. $162.49 in interest paid to the man. -

Here Very roughly (doesnt take into account 1st month or final month interest) month 1 Pay $400 to card 1, $25 to card 2 Card 1 $900 Balance, $14.25 in interest Card 2 $575 Balance, $4.31 in interest Month 2 Card 1 $514.25 Balance, $8.14 in interest Card 2 $554.31 Balance, $4.16 in interest Month 3 Card 1 $122.39 Balance, $1.94 in Interest Card 2 $522.47 Balance $4.00 in interest Month 4 Card 1 Paid off Card 2 $225.80 Balance, $1.69 in Interest Month 5 Card 2 paid off with $227.49 payment $38.49 paid in interest Option 2: Pay $25 to Card 1, $400 to Card 2 Month 1 Card 1 $1275 Balance $20.18 in interest Card 2 $200 Balance $1.50 in interest Month 2 Card 1 $1070.18 Balance, $16.94 in interest Card 2 Paid Off Month 3 Card 1 $662.12 Balance, $10.48 in interest Card 2 Paid Off Month 4 Card 1 $247.60 Balance, $3.92 in interest Card 2 Paid Off Month 5 Card 1 Paid Off with $251.52 $53.02 Paid in interest The effects are minimized because you are paying over 20% of your total balance every month edit: Never mind, $200 a month makes it more crucial to attack the 19% first and minimum payment the 9%. -
Credit card payment order. Which one first?
May Day 10 replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in Off the Wall Archives
the obvious advice is to never carry a balance on credit cards, especially ones with 19% interest. I went through a lot of poor decisions through college and the 1st half of my 20s. I was able to cut through about $50K in CC, Student Loan, and Car Loan debt after reading a few books on personal finance. Yes, highest interest first. -

you pay the higher interest rate 1st while minimum on the lower rate. Overall you come out on the other side with less money lost to interest. all equal Itll be like $20.50 a month for $1300, like $4.50 for the $600. Paying the smaller debt first is a mistake -

I remember the snazzy commercials during the Monday night football games. The guy would refer to events in the game and it seemed so awesome. I begged my parents to subscribe because I wanted to play fantasy football/rotisserie... but they wouldnt budge -
word Its an interesting and complex issue for sure. Not everybody has a DC Tom to explain things. While I still don't/can't understand what compels people to want to kill/display these animals... it seems to be a necessary evil to give locals an economic interest in staving off poaching. A real evil seems to be the Chinese and their antiquated 'medical' needs.

Ted Black out: Russ Brandon to head Sabres and Bills

that is what I was saying.... its in between and there are many factors that are glossed over when people give the 11%-20% figure (I actually thought I heard 17% somewhere but I could be wrong and cant find it) And the amount of other people the series p*&&^d off is also a factor. I know 3 people who cancelled their seasons. I was in the process of purchasing club seats when the announcement came down with the Wilson PC and I bailed on the ticket rep and provided that as a reason (a few years later I 'inherited' a rockpile seat from a friend). I still think the #1 motivation was the cash. Its all past history though. I'm fine with everything in Bills-land at this point, and that includes Brandon or whoever... even in the overlord position. This discussion has no relevance, really. I kind of wish they would change Billy Buffalo though Things are awesome -

huh? Aaron Maybin? Anyways, Im wrong. Didnt attend community college. 100% of the 9% of Canadian Season Ticket holders were directly thanks to the Toronto games. No other factors were necessary or applicable. -

at the same time the increase was happening, the Canadian dollar was strengthened. Is that not a factor at all? Only factor was that sham game? edit: Im not upset about it any more at all. At the center of it, it was perceived as cracking the door open to a huge market that had its eyes set on stealing our team. The game was symbolic of us losing the Bills. Now that it is gone, and the series is gone forever, it just doesnt matter. I still disagree that it was an effective Regionalization tool. I have never met a Canadian fan who liked the series and/or was compelled to go to RWS because of it. It earned the Bills some bucks. Its history. Im fine with it. -

the STH from Ontario rose from 11% to 17%. That equates to roughly 2,500 seats. How many were from Toronto? How many as a result of that great and authentic display of Bills football in the Skydome? How many were due to the surging Canadian dollar and general high Canadian shopping activity here? It was an effective cash grab. That is all it was. We can move on. We will see a lot more Canadians when the wins pile in. -

For sure, I love the Pegulas as owners and wouldnt want it any other way... A+++ Just grading the Sabres so far, while ignoring the peripheral stuff (and also not assuming/predicting future results), Id give it a C.

Brady 4 game suspension upheld; Will go to court
May Day 10 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To me, it's already a win. Through the whole process I expected the nfl to turn over and push the narrative that brady is a swell guy. The opposite has happened and the whole football world sees the patriots as slimy cheaters who really are incapable of acknowledging any wrongdoing even though it has been laid out for all to see. You really have to believe there is much more behind the curtain there and hopefully this is the beginning if the end of the "run". Even if lawyers get the suspension overturned on a procedural technicality... will anyone proclaim that brady is innocent besides that senile little toad bob kraft and patriots fans? Brady has been exposed for who he really is. It's already a win and good on goodell and the nfl not going the easy route and helping brady here. -
