  1. Seattle is my favorite 'major' city. I realy liked Charlottesville, VA when I went there this fall.
  2. Can you tell me what direction they are taking it? To me, nothing seemed to really happen. New Order in a slow speed chase. Handful of rebels get away. No urgency because New Order doesn't give much reason to hate/fear them in this movie, especially without Snoke and now being run by a somewhat likable conflicted bad guy and a general who is used for slapstick comic relief. One dimensional characters remained one dimensional. The movie fatigued me on most of them. I really liked them at the time of the conclusion of TFA and was ready for the ride. This movie didn't take me anywhere. Didn't feel invested in the story. 2nd parts of a trilogy generally set the pins and end just before the climax of the trilogy, but there is nothing here, really. I feel disjointed from the story and really not looking forward to Episode IX as much as I would.
  3. He was the best.
  4. Pegula is right with the tone. This is a problem. It is most prevalent in NFL, but it is leaking into other leagues (NHL and MLB). The replay, as he said was installed to fix obvious on-field calls/errors. But now, it has morphed into taking an inventory of every millimeter, guessing players' intent, interpretations on what is a "catch", etc. It is a circus. NHL has broached this with the ridiculous and unnecessary 'offsides challenge'. MLB is really bad too when it comes to safe/out calls. People say 'why not get it right?". Situations like this and many others are the reason. These things damage the sport/viewing experience. If you cant figure it out in 5 minutes with 10 angles, then the officials call on the field should stand.
  5. marketing genius i went 2 two games yesterday. great hockey.
  6. no rivalry to me. completely different regions and their fans dont even care. kelly vs marino was good but mainly vecause buffalo and miami were annually #1 and 2 in the division with super bowl aspirations.
  7. I dunno. In baseball, losing contact with the bag often saves players from broken ankles and fingers/hands. The offsides thing in hockey is bad too. The reason the rule exists is so a player cant get a huge advantage getting over the line, past the defense and receive a pass. looking at it on a micro scale is silly, especially since usually several things happen between that and a goal. I dont have any problem with the linseman calling it in real time.
  8. He is 40+ and is as in shape as ever. He also seems to take as many/more hits than he ever did. No QB has ever had this type of career arc, and I would say no athlete ever has had this... especially in this era in sports where youth is king. The one telltale indicator in baseball was when guys were putting up stats and staying durable into their late 30s and 40s. It just does not pass the eye test, and I don't buy the 'aw shucks I drink a lot of water and eat kale' explanation.
  9. I agree with this. It is also trickling into other sports as well. The NHL is making a travesty out of itself with its offsides challenge. Now we are looking at 'did he have possession?' 'did his skate lose contact with the ice?' 'the letter of the rule states xxxxx, therefore they were offside'. We dont want guys breaking in 10 feet offside on a breakaway, but this is too much. MLB is getting bad too. The worst is when a player slides into a bag and might lose contact of the base by a millimeter for a fraction of a second and you can look frame by frame. I really dont need that, the guy is safe. My team will get some and lose some. I don't need for every call and every inch to be micro-analyzed. This, was one of the main reasons I dug the snow game so much. They just played and we couldnt dissect every inch.
  10. If anyone truly believes that Brady isn't on any form of PEDs, I have a bridge to sell you.
  11. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Get it?
  12. Gotta agree with Cincy and Panthers. Those 2 games were there for the taking. Jets game feels like a legit loss. The Jets have fought all season and came into that game with a lot of fire. Punched the Bills in the mouth and they didnt have a chance.
  13. IMO the officiating is quite good. When we scrutinize every inch and slow things down to the microsecond.... its impossible to look good 100% of the time. We saw what can happen with the replacement refs. We had bad calls, rules were misunderstood/not enforced correctly, and quite rapidly the fabric of the game was being torn. After about 4 weeks games were all devolving into numerous skirmishes, large scale arguments with the refs, etc.
  14. trumps gotta be behind this somewhere
  15. For me: Return-Jedi Empire Strikes New Hope Force Awakens Rogue One Sith Last Jedi Clones Phantom Menace
  16. I thought it was a pretty poor Star Wars movie to be honest. Im not that hard to please either, I think people are way too harsh on I-III. I think I still need to let it settle in. I didn't hate it, and really liked and enjoyed certain things. Lots I didn't like, some sloppiness/laziness in writing IMO. I really am not at a point where I'm in huge anticipation of IX.
  17. Temporary.... things could have been very different if Mr Wilson passed away, say in 2017 or 2018... MLSE, does not have the liquid assets to compete with Terry Pegula. whether Jon Bon Jovi was the front, back, or side. Rogers also has their money tied up with various family matters after the old man's death. They also blew a ton of money on the NHL contracts and are paying for it. I do remember other interests rumored to come in and kick the tires.... an individual or group from Chicago comes to my memory. It seems they were likely scared off by the NRA with the lease. Combined with a relocation fee, and the price of building a stadium (presumably in Toronto).... it would make a $2 Million bid into $4 million very quickly. It was all timing. The paint wasn't even dry on the RWS renovations when all this came into action. Also, the emergence of the Pegula family with their liquid wealth and commitment to the city was a monster factor. I truly appreciate Ralph Wilson and his family for creating the Bills and maintaining them through more than 50 years. Ralph Wilson is the father of the Buffalo Bills. However, I do not subscribe to the thought that he had some sort of master plan to screw the NFL and force the team to remain in Buffalo. If that were the case, he would have fought for a 50 year NRA and the state/county would have gladly accepted. The State/County side were the ones pushing for the $ penalty for breaking the lease and length of time. The Bills didnt have too much leverage, as no way Wilson was going to sell the team at that point and take the tax hits.
  18. I thought it was refreshing and unique. Wasnt over officiated. Every inch wasnt contested and disputed via coaches challenges and replays. It was a throwback. Some of the most extreme conditions ever. It was a spectacle. Obviously, nobody wants or expects that to happen every week... and most likely it will never happen again
  19. I prefer outside. I like attending games outside... and also the aesthetics on TV. The variability, etc. I also understand the points that pro-dome people have. That is a valid opinion as well. There is no right/wrong or absolutes. It is based primarily on personal opinion. What matters is what Pegula and the financials determine is the best course. I think the cheapest/easiest course of action is in place. Parking, routes out of the stadium/area really arent that bad, doesnt take up potentially valuable downtown space, etc. However, I think Pegula is likely looking at any way feasible for downtown to link his sports and entertainment empire. If I had to bet, I would say most likely some sort of Ford Field style dome to the South-East area of the arena/cobblestone/downtown. Style of the stadium, my preference, maybe a happy medium. Out of the snow belt would help... also, some sort of roof structure would be nice. Whether its dome or outdoor, I really hope they concentrate on the fan experience. Amplify sound. Great sight lines, etc. I think the thing should be geared 95% toward football watching (as that is what we do here). An outdoor stadium, enclosed like 50% by roof, maybe something similar in ways to Centurylink Field in Seattle would be wonderful. Maybe it would be possible to make an outdoor stadium convert to an amphitheater for the offseason that would be able to host many concerts over the summer. Run Darien lake out of business and get bodies downtown.
  20. IMO, the 'other uses' for a dome is overstated. There really aren't many events that a dome would service that the combination of the arena and outdoor football stadium can handle. Pop an amphitheater downtown and that would cover about everything. MAYBE Buffalo would someday get a final 4, but even that is a long shot. We aren't getting those high stakes college games that Atlanta, Dallas, and even Indy grab.
  21. people should also be reminded that this is an example of the extreme. i dont think anybody is advocating for this to be a weekly happening. in 35 years of watching games in orchard park, i have never seen anything like this. it was a novelty, a rare occurrence. it almost reminded me of an nhl outdoor game. the players looked like kids playing backyard winter football. few flags, no replays, every inch couldnt be nitpicked... it was fun to watch. ill remember it as long as im around
  22. i hate color rush and "cutesy" jerseys (thanks oregon)... but i thought the red was a great contrast in the snow
  23. i thought it was a great game. i have been trading texts with friends all day who were glued to their tvs. some of these friends usually couldnt care less about the bills
  24. not me. i love it. uncommon game. i wish i couldve made it today
