  1. Helps when you don’t get called for grounding even when you fling it blindly into the ground over your shoulder as you run screaming from the rush.
  2. This is a guy who no doubt dyed his hair gray when he was younger to look older and is now dying his hair brown (or black) to look younger. ‘This is also the guy who blew up the #3 defense in the NFL to install the 46 because somehow Tennessee had had the #2 defense...you know, the one that couldn’t stop a one-shoed Rob Johnson’s game-winning drive. Guy has been BSing his way through life and he’ll never change. Can’t wait to see Cleveland regret this. Because they will.
  3. First Russ Brandon, now Jerry Sullivan... can Mike Rodak be far behind? they say things happen in threes....
  4. Bottom line: this man has a wife, and kids. Has had both for quite some time, in fact. And not a single person who knows him -- and I know a few who do -- tells me they are surprised by these allegations. He avoided consequences in the community for a long time because of the power he held. Who doesn't want to be able to say they know/are on good terms with the president of their favorite teams? He lit his life on fire, but far worse is what he did to his family. Someone on Twitter put it best yesterday: the reason so many of us disliked him is that as our teams got steadily worse and approached dumpster-fire status, he just seemed to get more powerful and more important. And when Adam Schefter tweeted yesterday just after the news broke that Brandon wouldn't be unemployed for long... well, that's exactly how he managed to last this long here. He played the charm/PR game like no one else, and he himself was always his most important client. He finally met someone who wasn't impressed. Good for Kim for seeing through it all. Me too. And people wonder why women don't come forward.
  5. All the information out there suggests that Arizona was trying to trade up to either 7 or 10 to get him, and if they did that and we stayed put, odds are good Miami (which didn't have the draft capital to move up) would have taken Rosen after he fell into their laps, and then all the work we did to get a quarterback would have gone down the drain. Or maybe another team (New England, perhaps?) would have pounced on our inactivity and traded up to 10 after Arizona took their guy at 7. At 12 we were not getting any of the top four QBs. The way I look at it, we traded up to get our quarterback without giving up our other first-rounder (which we probably couldn't have done if we traded any higher), which allowed us to use that first-rounder and other assets to move up again and take Edmunds. Had the board broken differently with quarterbacks going in the first three picks, we probably would have had to give up both first-rounders to get the fourth guy before the Denver-Miami run started. In that sense Edmunds was almost a free pick. I don't understand the hate except that people didn't get "their" guy, whether it was Darnold, Rosen or Mayfield. I bet we're having this same discussion this morning no matter who the Bills took. Maybe we can let the professionals who put this whole plan together over the past year and still managed to get us into the playoffs, you know, do their jobs.
  6. Yes. Then I cried again this morning because I knew it was real.
  7. My daughter was six months old. Now she’s a freshman coxswain at William Smith. She hates football, but that’s okay. My son, who bleeds Bills colors, was still three years away from being born. He’s a freshman in high school and I am so frickin’ happy for him because the Bills are in the playoffs. My wife and I had been married for a year and a half. We will celebrate our 20th anniversary in August. I was a year and a half out of law school and still in my first post-law school job. I’m on my fifth now, and this one finally took... i’ve been there seven years and will probably retire from it. I had just turned 30 seven months earlier. In five months or so, I’ll be a year away from the big 5-0. A lot of water under that bridge. Was it worth it? Every second.
  8. Peterman won't get in the game because the Saints will run the last 10 minutes out.
  9. When Shady fumbled I got up and went in the other room; I couldn't take watching anymore so I started following the game on Twitter. Part of the problem was that my dad was dealing with the stress by looking at his iPad and my son was busily texting on his phone. They had already mentally checked out, something that I do in other sports (Mets/Sabres/Cuse) but can't seem to do with the Bills. I need to either be alone or be with people who are as invested as I am. So off to Twitter I went. When the Bucs scored I said, hell with it, and went back and stood in the doorway to watch what I was sure would end up being a loss. Then boom, boom, boom, we scored, and my first reaction was "we left too much time on the clock." But I stayed in the doorway rather than resume my seat, and then came the fumble and the FG. I figured we had it by then so I took my seat, only to almost regret it with that stupid Cal-Stanford play at the end. Hell yes I thought someone was going to leave his lane and there was going to be some Music City Miracle BS. I clearly need help, and I know I'm not alone.
  10. So, stupid question: does the team reimburse players for travel to and from workouts (as well as for lodging during them)? I realize these were voluntary OTAs and so perhaps not. What about for (mandatory) training camp? And if they reimburse, is it for the entire cost or just a set amount in the CBA? I'm just picturing Shareece walking into the traveling secretary's office with a $932 Uber bill, that's all.
  11. Anyone who thinks he's just the ticket sales and marketing guy is fooling themselves.
  12. Kind of a tongue-in-cheek response... but maybe because the Sabres are the only NHL team he's ever been associated with that didn't at least make it to the Cup Finals while he was with them? (Won Cups with the Canadiens, Penguins, Red Wings, and Hawks; made it to the finals three years in a row with the Blues.)
  13. Now the refs are piling up the NE flags in garbage time so the calls won't look as lopsided.
  14. If Gilmore would make a play here and there he might get a call. Just stop defending him. He's had a horrible game. Period.
  15. Gilmore ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  16. Gilmore ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  17. Roughing the white passer
  18. Clay looking for the flag instead of trying to make a play. Small Play strikes again. He's been a waste.
  19. You watch, they'll score here.
  20. Hightower has now hit TT late twice with no flags. This is bull ****.
  21. "I don't understand, we always have 12 guys on the field and you're just now calling it?"
  22. I think Clay alligator-armed it because he knew he was going to get hit
  23. Remember what a weapon Clay was in Miami? He got here and turned into Robert Royal.
