SageAgainstTheMachine replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
7 games in a row! This board was so pessimistic after we dropped to 6-3 but then we ran the table…and board stayed pessimistic 😆 -
NFL Week #18 - Patriots @ Bills - Pregame thread!

Never a bad day to beat the Pats. I’m looking forward to the close up on Belichick’s face when he realizes the game is out of reach. -
Bills playoff opponent scenarios

If you really believe that the NFL tells referees who to make calls against and that nobody has ever leaked this I’ve got a staged moon landing to sell you. -
Damn, another season where all the away games are on the road.

Damn we’re going with full on conspiracy theory mode right now on this board, huh? -

Don’t sweat this game y’all. The Raiders weren’t ever going to win. Bills either capture lightning in a bottle in the postseason or they don’t. -

Why is LV not using timeouts here? McDaniels is clueless. -
Honestly I can't stand motivational speaker schtick. They aren't actual leaders, they're people who learn rhetoric and get paid to talk at corporate retreats. People raising money for uninsured dying relatives, people being shot execution style? Those are grave symptoms of social disease, not a "dog fight".

The calendar is going to flip a couple times and we'll be on to the Patriots and we'll think of Damar. Then it'll flip a few more times and it will be the first round of the playoffs and we'll think of Damar. And then more time will pass and we'll think of him less and less because time does its thing. A few years from now we'll say "Oh man, remember when..." But it's important to keep little nuggets of wisdom and I'll always remember this day when we found out he survived and when things like losing coin flips don't feel so unlucky after all.

What if the Bills refuse to play the Patriots?
SageAgainstTheMachine replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well I think regardless of the Patriots game, it's likely that the Bills and Bengals will only play 16 games this season while the rest of the league plays 17 and things will boil down to win percentage. I prefer they flip a coin but that's something the league will shy away from. So given that, the Bills playing 15 isn't some huge problem. The biggest problem as far as competition goes is the potential of the Pats simply being handed a win and automatically advancing when other teams were led to believe they were still in the hunt. -

No, you literally don't have to. You can quit any job. I repeat, I don't want that to happen. I don't think it will. But nobody HAS to do anything. -

Read earlier in the thread and you'll see me saying that the Bills are going to play the game and that the NFL can't tolerate the franchise not doing it. But it's the players who have the actual power here even if the team gets punished. -

I mean, they don't. I think they should and will but the players are grown adults who don't have to do anything they don't want to. -

I know. The whole situation makes me sick to my stomach but earnestly I don't see how the Patriots game not being played helps.
