  1. We are officially a spoiled fan base. 8 wins in a row...
  2. Easily the most offensive part of this is "everyone once a response".
  3. I get that, but this is reading between the lines of what he actually said. Is it a fair reading? Perhaps. EDIT: Ok, I just re-read it. It is a pretty blatant call out. Still, it probably reflects the attitude of the Baltimore locker room well.
  4. It's funny how NFL fans say that they hate the schlocky meaningless media talk that players and coaches do 99% of the time. But then when a player earnestly speaks their mind, and not even in a cruel way, people clutch at their pearls. I'm no fan of Sammy Watkins but all he's saying is that his team is in the playoffs and he wishes their only chance of winning was on the field.
  5. Lamar is also losing bags of money if he goes out there cold at 70% physical capacity and has a really bad game. Right now the prevailing narrative is that the Ravens were serious contenders who have swan-dived after he wasn’t on the field.
  6. Yeah, I definitely think that prayer is benevolent for those doing the praying. I don't have a specific faith but I was definitely saying and thinking "Just let him be ok" that night, even if it was to nobody in particular. The thing that gets me is implying that the prayer worked because the outcome was good. That necessarily means that when the outcome is bad, the prayer didn't work. To me it's a strange way of looking at a world where terrible undeserved things happen every day, that the victims of those things don't have enough cosmic energy on their side or something while others get helped.
  7. So when someone has a cardiac arrest and doesn’t make it, is it in part because there wasn’t enough prayer?
  8. They're dangerous right now. Could see them surprising everyone.
  9. Love a nice Edmunds thread.
  10. I think we give altogether too much credence to the 13 seconds game. Giving up 42 points was an outlier and just credit to Mahomes on a great game. We've played other games against good offenses where the defense did step up and hold them to 20-something.
  11. Ravens are in an unenviable position. They could be hitching their wagon to a guy who can get a team to the playoffs but not through the playoffs, not to mention a runner with inchoate knee issues. On the other hand he wins games and entertains the fans as a transcendent athlete and the fact is that it's risky to not have a plan at QB. You never know when you'll get sucked into a vortex of mediocrity. Look what's happened to Indy after Luck retired.
  12. I think this board is going to be pretty unreadable if we win by fewer than 3 TDs.
  13. If the opposing team got within 7 in a playoff game, you wouldn't be sitting your starters anymore.
  14. I think it's fine that not many drought era players should be remembered in such a way. I feel we're experiencing a weird nostalgia for those days now (lower expecations, more fun?) but it was miserable. That said, the greatest player of that generation was Kyle Williams and his face is also the enduring image of the drought being broken so he belongs.
  15. I disagree. I think you trust that your D gets a stop on Skylar Thompson and then you get leverage on the end-of-half strategy.
  16. We have quite a few of the honorable mention type players - Josh, Diggs, Milano, Poyer, maybe Morse
  17. I can only imagine 13 seconds feels like it was a decade ago to these guys. This season has really been something.
  18. Have you considered a career in meteorology? I ask because I think you have the raw talent to be wrong professionally.
  19. We may not have known about CTE until the last few years but let's be honest - it's always been obvious that head injuries aren't good for your health. This is something we know intuitively on survival instinct.
  20. 62-35 record in those six seasons. If you take the last four seasons after Josh’s rookie year it’s 47-18. Time to add some hardware to the resume.
  21. A trap game in a single elimination tournament?
  22. This offense will begin to thrive when we get CJ Spiller out in space.
  23. I wonder how charitable all the McDaniel fans on this board would be to a rookie Bills HC who lost 5 straight games down the stretch.
