  1. Keep in mind, I have not once said it’s bad to acquire WR talent…I said it had not paid off to heavily over leverage and invest to where you take away from your team. So people keep bringing up Bengals for example who drafted Higgins and then because Burrow missed his rookie year had Chase fall in their lap. What I’m against is over leveraging assets to WR at a detriment of other potions on the roster by spending important draft capital and cap space. While I don’t think we have to mortgage our future for MHJ, Nabers, or Odunze because this class is so strong, I would still much rather go get one of them and avoid paying a WR $28M for the next 3-4 years.
  2. So Allen, who averages 5100 yards and 44 TDs for the past 4 years isn’t good enough and needs the best receiver group in the league? Then why have lesser QBs won Super Bowls without having a receiver as good as Diggs? Allen has the most TDs in NFL history…but somehow he must have the best WR group in the league to get a SB? We are also 2nd in wins and 2nd in scoring over those 4 years. But we supposedly can’t win a SB without have 2 top WR1 level receivers according to a lot of people here, and that makes no sense. I mean, look at our last 4 playoff exits… 2020 - We lost to KC as we were the lesser overall team. 2021 - We had a WR put up over 200 yards and 4 TDs and lost because our defense gave up 17 points in final couple minutes and OT. 2022 - Cincy dominated us in trenches on both sides of the ball and Brady couldn’t get a run game going in bad weather. 2023 - We lost because we had no LBs, and the ghost of Kelce and Mahomes attacked our LBs all game and we couldn’t get Mahomes dirty. Everyone wants as many great WRs we can get…myself included. But neglecting the roster to go all in on WRs for a team with a huge QB contract and cap issues is a big risk as it leaves you thin elsewhere. So giving up a bunch of picks and paying Aiyuk means we are weaker elsewhere. Not to mention, we are an outdoor bad weather stadium where the first thing impacted is passing game. And this team was already not good enough with Diggs to get there with guys like Tre, Poyer, Hyde, Morse, Davis, etc. who are also all gone. So stick to the draft and get that cap relief and pair Allen with someone for Allen’s prime while they are on a rookie contract. Dont compound the issue and give up valuable picks and then go pay the guy $28m. Because if you do, then you must hit on the majority of your remaining draft picks (very hard to do).
  3. Im not saying it’s not good to have good WR group, I’m saying over weighing your assets into WR rather than balancing the roster has yet to really payoff for anyone. Which is why I doubt Beane is going to both trade draft capital and pay Aiyuk in the high 20’s. Id rather trade up for Odunze and at least get his cheaper contract, and that’s not because I don’t like Aiyuk, because I think he would be great with Allen. But if we tie up all that cap space and lose draft assets it’s going to hold us back at multiple valuable positions on this team through the loss of draft talent or the ability to sign people in free agency, including our own when they come due. And we already came up short having a top 5 WR the last 4 years as it is.
  4. No, I was adding more to further the point. And winning a SB is what matters, so pretty sure not winning that one game is kind of a big deal
  5. Huh? Miami's QB was an MVP candidate and still couldn't win the division with both Hill and Waddle and a 4 game lead last in the season. Eagles had their MVP candidate QB too and didn't get the job done yet with both AJ Brown and Smith. Cincy has Burrow and didn't get the job done with both Chase and Higgins. Dallas has Dak who has been one of the most prolific passers statistically in the NFL who had Cooper and Lamb. So...yeah...your counter point makes no sense considering Dallas, SF, Mia, and Phi all had QB's who have been MVP candidates. Chargers had Allen and Williams with Herbert and can't even make the playoffs.
  6. Ha I am assuming this is either sarcasm directed at the other poster who keeps naming old fogey WR's as better than Aiyuk...or you just replied to me by mistake since I didn't mention Julio lol
  7. Kupp has 2 seasons with over 1000 yards. Two. My wife is a die hard Niners fan, and so I watch every Niners game. You are grossly undervaluing and underestimating Aiyuk. I would take him in a heartbeat over Olave and Kupp...and he is at least as good as DJ Moore. I would say they are pretty close to each other. I don't think we should trade for him, but that doesn't mean you are accurately portraying him either. He is an excellent WR and would go off with a QB like Allen more than he already has. I mean look at what he is doing on a run heavy team with a 2nd year QB that doesn't have a big arm. As much as you are underrating Aiyuk, you are now overrating Keenan for this next season. Is he still a quality player, yes, but he isn't the player he once was and if the over/under on yards was 1000 yards this year I would take the under all day. No disrespect, but you seem to be hung up on names more than being in tune to where some of these guys are right now. Kupp? Allen? No GM in the NFL would choose them over Aiyuk right now.
  8. That wasn't me bud, that was a trade I believe Gunner was doing. I didn't try to make a trade because I already knew the rule. Just saying, I probably would have packaged two 3rds to go get someone like Pearsall, Roman Wilson, or Polk to pair with Odunze with all that extra draft ammo I had after the two tiny trade backs. And I think the Cardinals might have as well...or for someone on the OL too, could see them making that move as well.
  9. Does it though? As I have shown before, teams keep investing tons in WR's and haven't seen the payoff. Look at arguably the best WR in the game in Hill...Miami can't even when their division with him and a 4 game lead late in the season with Waddle, Archane, and Mostert too. Adams didn't do anything for Raiders. Diggs didn't help the Bills do anything other than lose 3 straight years in the 2nd round. Minnesota had both Diggs and Theilen and didn't get over the hump. Dallas had both Cooper and Lamb and won less than we did. Niners didn't get it done with both Aiyuk and Deebo, plus they had Kittle and CMC too. People always say this about WR, but we are not seeing this translate on the field like people assume it does.
  10. With Arizona armed with so many picks (2 first, early 2nd, five 3rd, two 4ths) after my 2 small trade backs, I considered it. But with Odunze already in the fold, there were are a lot of other young WR's to add next to him I would think they would just prefer to go after. In fact, I would have traded up again (still having 3 third round picks, and 2 fourths right now) and grabbed someone like Pearsall or Roman Wilson, but your rules don't allow for us to trade a pick that has already been traded. So only 1 of my remaining thirds could be traded and I thought it would be unrealistic to give away next years 1st or 2nd just to make a trade work here in this deep of a WR draft. But moving 2 of the 3rds I have this year to go get one would have worked draft comp range to go get one, so I would have 100% pulled the trigger to nab another WR mid round 2. Nice pick! And great draft @Virgil, this was a blast as always! We all appreciate the time and work you put into it!
  11. DeVonta Smith got his bag today, and $25m/per is no small number. I would think Aiyuk will command more than this, and I know a lot of people have been thinking Bills could trade for him, make some crazy offer for Jefferson, or even Higgins (no thanks). I have a hard time seeing Beane see this kind of money going out for a WR2 and thinking its a good idea to trade for a WR1 likely to cost more than this. I won't rule it out, Beane has shown to be aggressive when he wants a player, but I would think this pushes Aiyuk contract demands up even more and I am gonna guess Jefferson might end up the first WR over $30M (Hill being the first to hit $30M). We are staring at a historically great WR draft, so is Beane going to focus there (maybe he already was) or would he still pull the trigger knowing he is gonna have to pay one north of $25M per? My gut says draft, we are in a different cap situation then when we traded for Diggs and Allen was on his rookie deal still, so hard to see him want to take on that much cap with a WR draft this strong in front of him. But never know...
  12. Thanks, added that to the OP since Vons expired. And better yet, you got the point of the thread was just that this was funny, not about Von and his track record
  13. The sad part is when Josh is an MVP candidate again, the media and his critics are more likely to say that they were wrong about his weapons being bad when Josh makes Kincaid, Shakir, a rookie, Samuel, etc look great this year. They are more likely to say it’s because Josh is loaded with the best young weapons in the game than they are to give Josh the amount of credit he will deserve. Josh 4 year average is 5100 yards and 44 TDs, and they have done everything in their power to discredit Josh and make others the reason for that like Diggs. Never seen anything like the criticism he gets. It’s like the media and critics have made him a villain because he hasn’t eclipsed Mahomes. It’s insane, especially for a guy a classy, likable, and charitable as Josh.
  14. UPDATE: This is just funny…not about anyone making a prediction. He posted an Instagram story, may not be up much longer as they expire after 24 hours, but it’s hilarious. It’s the AI thing everyone’s doing over the Lil Yachty Walk out clip from a year ago that went viral. For those not familiar with the original clip or viral AI trend, here is another example. Von posted one with Brandon Beane as Lil Yacthy via AI like The Joker is here with the caption “Brandon Beane arriving at the 2024 draft to trade up for a WR” haha
  15. With the 43rd pick in the 2024 NFL draft, the Arizona “Draft Crushing” Cardinals (via trade with Atlanta) select: Chris Braswell, Edge/LB, Alabama CLICK HERE FOR HIGHLIGHTS Having 5 picks in round 3, we are thrilled about trading 2 of them to move up to get someone with his kind of speed to power ratio and with the kind of pass rush first step that’s like a gun shot and keeps offensive lineman up at night. Not only does he bolster our pass rush, but he brings the athleticism and fluidity to drop into coverage and run with those TE’s. We are confident our defensive staff can continue to coach him up and develop his pass rush techniques to be able to wreak havoc at the next level. Draft Recap: TRADES #4 - Trade 4, 138, 162 for 6, 70, 107 #27 - Trade 27 for 32 and 95 Cardinals still have a 2nd at pick 35 and now have 5 picks in the 3rd plus 2 more in the 4th to go with a couple late picks. #43 - We acquire 43 for picks 66 and 71. #6 - ROME ODUNZE, WR, WASHINGTON #32 - NATE WIGGINS, CB, CLEMSON #35 - DARIUS ROBINSON, DT, MISSOURI #43 - CHRIS BRASWELL, LB/EDGE ALABAMA If we were done here, this would be an A+++...but we are still sitting on three 3rd round picks and 2 more in the 4th to bolster more of our offense as well, such as another WR, IOL or RB. Who knows, maybe we see each other again before the rounds over @CNYfanand the Las Vegas Raiders are now on the clock.
  16. While I’m skeptical we would make a move for Aiyuk just given the less expensive talent in this draft (although I think Aiyuk is a great player and would be great here) I think it’s accurate to say Diggs was traded for more than cap reasons. 1 - Diggs lost faith we could win now facing a mini rebuild/retool and wanted to go somewhere closer to winning now before his career is done. So he wanted out, Beane doesn’t like to keep guys here who don’t want to be here. 2 - Diggs is gonna be 31, this was the most we would ever get for him. Getting back a likely high 2nd was a lot better than maybe getting a 4th trading him next year. 3 - Brady and the offense showed we are better spreading the ball around than over loading Diggs on targets and could win without him being a big factor. 4 - Cap Relief - obvious why this is valuable.
  17. We are almost certainly are not going back to back WR rounds 1 and 2, especially if one is a trade up. This isn’t Madden.
  18. Ah crap, good catch, I knew I should have double checked lol
  19. Thanks, and I personally think he has a good shot to go second half round 1, but if not early round 2 I am sure. I still have 5 3rds to throw around if I want to get back into the 2nd. Just waiting see if there is a must get guy in the right spot that makes realistic sense.
  20. With the 35th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Arizona "Draft Crushing" Cardinals select: Darius Robinson, DT, Missouri CLICK HERE FOR HIGHLIGHTS We are excited to bring in someone with the kind of versatility as Darius who can play inside and out on the Edge for us. He brings a power at the point of attack and an ability to engage and shed blockers which we believe will bring immediate value to his ability to come in and compete early for us. With his stout ability against the run and his continued growth in diversifying his pass rush moves, we believe he can be an anchor upfront for us for along time and thrilled to steal him here at the top of 2nd round. Having already added Odunze, Wiggins, and now Robinson we feel we have really added to the future of both sides of the ball. And because of our small trade downs, we still have 5 picks in the third round and 2 more in the 4th to use to really set an immediate foundation for the future of Cardinals football. #6 - ROME ODUNZE, WR, WASHINGTON #32 - NATE WIGGINS, CB, CLEMSON #35 - DARIUS ROBINSON, DT, MISSOURI If we were done here, this would be an A+++...but still most a 2nd round to go and we are sitting on 7 picks through rounds 3 and 4. So maybe we see each other again soon @H2oand the Washington NoSnyders are on the clock!
  21. @Virgilyou accidentally put the Patriots pick as the Cardinals pick with Worthy.
  22. Nice pick, I like Kool-Aid a lot too...I felt Wiggins was too good for AZ to pass up twice so stuck with him even though I have a feeling Wiggins in the real draft goes before our original pick of 27 where I almost passed up on the trade down to take.
  23. Yeah, I remember, and I initially didn't like the pick because I thought there were corners at that spot they would certainly take ahead of them. But I had forgotten AZ had 2 firsts and overlooked you already added a corner with their 2nd pick, so once you cleared that up and I realized I didn't see that then the WR pick made a lot more sense to me. Although AZ has some real needs in a lot of spots like edge, DT, IOL, etc. So it is gonna come down to how the draft falls. I am running AZ now, and I traded back 2 spots from 4 to 6 (giving me Odunze) and adding an extra 3rd and 4th round pick. Then at 27 I got a trade offer from KC moving back to 32 and adding yet another 3rd round pick. So now, I have 5 third round picks and 2 4ths plus the second rounder at 37 coming up. With that much 3rd and 4th round ammo I may very well look WR here too depending on who else is there on DL and OL. Cardinals have a lot of draft ammo already with entering the draft with an additional first and two additional 3rds. Giants are a potential trade back partner and they could add more quality picks and still get an elite WR. At 27 there will be a lot on the board likely, so if they get someone wanting to come up, they can move back a little and still get a great pick at CB, DL, or IOL and add yet another quality pick this year. They are going to be a fun team to watch navigate the real draft if they do start to move around.
  24. With the the 32nd pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals (who are utterly crushing this draft like it was Prom Night) select: Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson CLICK HERE FOR HIGHLIGHTS We love the blend of elite recovery speed, coverage skills, and overall football IQ that Nate brings to this team. We were set to take him at 27 and are thrilled to still get him at 32 while adding another 3rd rounder to our draft this year. His height and arm length, combined with his skills in various coverage schemes, make him a versatile and competitive options who we believe can come in and compete to start right away. Based on his performance against top tier talent, we believe he has a very high ceiling in the NFL. Having already added Odunze and now Wiggins, we feel we have really added to the future of both sides of the ball. And because of our small trade downs, we now have our 2nd in a few picks and 5 picks in the third round and 2 more in the 4th to really help set a great foundation for this new era of Cardinals football. Also puts us in a great position to move around the draft as well if we feel there is someone we want to go get. #6 - ROME ODUNZE, WR, WASHINGTON #32 - NATE WIGGINS, CB, CLEMSON #35 - TBD @GunnerBilland the Detroit Lions are now on the clock.
  25. @GunnerBill better offer me a bounty to trade up one spot then or I am making him wait! I think next years first will suffice. Hit me up on pager when youre ready to deal me that first rounder Gunner with 80085 and I will know its on.
