  1. Anyone think that we could have a shot at Welker in 2013?
  2. I will not do the "asking karma for trouble" thing and say that I'm happy DeCastro is injured. I'm not. I don't wish injuries on players. (other than Tom Brady, who has clearly made some deal with the devil) What I will say, is that I'm excited to see a D-line that can shove a guy five yards back to take that injury. I'm excited to see how other offenses view that, and maybe make their O-lines piss themselves a little.
  3. Apparently we're getting TJ cheaper than we expected. Though we now need initials that won't confuse people with our WR...
  4. I'm honestly surprised. My only guess is that VY cost more money than Thigpen, and any team which is relying on their third-stringer is screwed.
  5. I checked the Seattle boards, and they feel pretty happy with things. They would be happy with a 5th round pick, and they think that TJ, while a decent player, would be a lockerroom cancer with Flynn and their new rookie.
  6. Jackson's play style fits with what we need far more than Tebow.
  7. One fewer blocker for their O-line.
  8. I like it. VY has clearly been mediocre. We didn't pay much for him, so I don't feel bad about ditching him. TJ looks...well, I would be furious if he was the starter. But I don't have a problem with him as backup yet. Let's see how he does in game 4.
  9. Hey, all I know is that it makes the Dolphins even weaker this season. That's two wins I can be sure of
  10. Let's remember. He got cut by the SEAHAWKS. How many elite receivers do you remember the Seahawks having?
  11. No guys, let's be honest here. The headline will be all about the Giants. The Bills thrashing the Jets will be on page 5
  12. You know, everything but our passing game seemed to be clicking in the first half. Never before have I wanted to scream "RUN THE F ING BALL!!!" quite so much. Well, at least until the regular season. Point is, Jackson is ready. The D-line is ready. The run defense is ready. Our passing coverage? Not ready. Our passing game? NOT READY! I've been a Fitz apologist, but his timing is clearly not there. He has two weeks to get into the realm of competency
  13. I hope so, because barring Spiller's fumble the run game has looked very solid.
  14. OK, the spread offense is definitely not there yet. I really hope that they get it in gear soon.
  15. D seems solid, but I really don't see why we aren't running the ball more. Of course, we kept complaining about that playcalling choice all last season so why should it change now.
  16. Great stuff there. If we can do this in the regular season, I think we're going to be alright.
  17. Am I the only one who is drooling at the thought of our new D-line against their O-line?
  18. +1 Mind I remind everyone that the Eagles "won" free agency last season. Now, I'm glad we're spending, but to build a team from a decade of utter mediocrity and doing it right takes time. I don't see how being a year or two from continual playoff fixture is anything but optimistic.
  19. Realistic. Even if things go great, I would still like us to upgrade our LB and WR corps. But if our D line is the real deal (K. Williams and Dareus are looking like beasts), our young CB corps matures over the next year and we get a solid lock on a #2 WR as the season goes on I think we have something more important than a winning season this year: winning seasons for the next three years.
  20. Group 2. Now, don't get me wrong. I love the improvement that we're showing. I do think playoffs are a real hope now. But there is a difference between a team which is in the playoff hunt like us, and the teams who are expected to be elite and vie for the Superbowl (the Pats, 49ers and Packers)
  21. Again...it's preseason. The only time I will be worried about our O-line will be on the 9th. Do I think the O-line could use the motivation in order to get back into the swing of things? You bet. If they start coming together tomorrow, and then have two weeks to get ready I'm hoping that will be good to get their chemistry going again.
  22. Good point. Even if they have the incredible boost by a QB who hasn't played in a year and is getting older, while playing some of the best teams in the conference, I really don't see the Chargers, Raiders or Chiefs having a season like that playing against the AFC North.
  23. I'm not saying that it's impossible to go 11-5 and miss the playoffs, but it certainly is an anomaly. Then, there's the fact the Broncos get to play the Pats, Texans, Falcons, Saints and the AFC North this year. That means that the team which barely squeaked into the playoffs gets to play seven superior, and I'm not sold that Peyton Manning is their savior. Then you have the AFC south, which was pretty muddled. The Colts are rebuilding but they won't be the joke they were last season. The Texans will be recovered from their crazy injuries. I see the Texans taking the division and the rest doing enough so that they aren't win factories. The AFC North is the real trouble. They have three playoff teams (Ravens, Steelers, Bengals) who get to play the weaker AFC West, so their conference record is probably going to be strong.
  24. I'll say that he's been decent. Seeing Gilmore at work, I'm glad that we went with him instead of Glenn but as a second round pick? I think we definitely made a good call. Seriously, our draft class (Gilmore, Glenn, Graham and Brooks at least) is looking very solid.
  25. +1 I'm really sure that we can keep them both. Merriman is gone, which should give us some room, and does anyone think we're going to be keeping McGee, Dwan Edwards, Torrel Troup AND Spencer Johnson too much longer? LG and SS aren't generally exactly cap shattering salaries.
