  1. Yeah...for those of us who were sure that our D was so good...
  2. Considering how good the Panther's D is when they are clicking...
  3. i have to ask if there are two different practices being held. on one hand, ej is looking decent and recievers are making amazing plays and in the other our pure doom. quantum entaglement Maybe?
  4. i would also like to point out that the bills starting d-line left after two series, along with the previously mentioned absense of our two best cbs. when eli manning gets completely stifled by your starters, i'm less worried about what he does to the 2nd and 3rd stringers
  5. great write up wayne. now, trying to buck the trend by being optimistic and still realistic: ej is probably not going to the pro bowl this season. but the model that whaley has been trying to build around is similar to the steelers in their superbowl years. they brought in a large, mostly game manager qb and relied on a stout d. i would like to see ej brought along as a game manager. there are early signs that his mechanics are a bit better. he has wr's that can make plays for him. my biggest concerns are with the o-line at this point, since that will rush him.
  6. given our luck, also the number of running backs who get injured.
  7. i mostly agree with everything. i'm hoping that duke wins the start over seacry, since seacry isn't great in coverage. i also don't know if i would say the o-line did well. there were a lot of mistakes which didn't help with the batted passes. ej wasn't perfect, but that didn't help.
  8. yeah. though, as i seemed to remember, that work out pretty well for big ben in his second season
  9. honestly, i am more worried about the o-line than ej right now.henderson is coming along, other than that one big whiff that led to a batted pass, but i'm still not happy with pears, urbik of c. williams.
  10. i need to ask, did anyone else like what they saw from duke williams?
  11. Which is why I was curious as to why they pulled him so early. Eli, a more established vet and two time Super Bowl winner stayed in for three. For those worried about EJ's performance on the first two drives, I would like to take a look at Manning's against our starting defense: a three and out, followed by a strip sack fumble on the third play. EJ's arm strength looked fine. I do think he's at least partly to blame for missing the Sammy bomb, but Mike Williams really ought to have had that catch in the end zone, and that's usually what he's good at. We have a month to go folks.
  12. I was wondering that. I didn't see the who lead us in plucky battles against the Bengals and Dolphins. The others had their ups and downs, but he just looked bad.
  13. I'm not sure about that. Glenn is pretty damn good. That said, Henderson has always been hugely talented. I am entirely ok with them on the edges.
  14. Yeah, this had been my question. Pears has looked OK, but Henderson has looked really, really good facing off against some of the best DE's in the game (Mario and JPP) I would love to see him at RT.
  15. Who? I can't hear you over the sound of the Giants fans cheering about our burned 3rd string CBs
  16. Ok,I feel a bit better then. If Gilmore,McKelvin didn't start and Robey, Graham and Cockrell got pulled early I'm feeling a great deal better
  17. OK, is anyone else terrified on our depth on CB...anywhere Butler or lower?
  18. Yeah...I know Carpenter doesn't have the leg to do the touchbacks, but he is rock solid on field goals.
  19. Yeah. I mean, I'm happy to see him play, since he has been the most exciting player to watch for a while. I know I am pulling for Mike Williams on the outside, but Woods has looked incredibly sharp so far.
  20. OK, is Robert Woods looking like a rock star to everybody else?
  21. As much as I am to wax poetic, Duke Williams has been there to clean up on many plays and has provided decent coverage. He is really looking like a quintessential Strong Safety
  22. Yeah, I'm liking Duke Williams as SS
  23. Impressions thus far: First string defense looks amazing. EJ has a lot to work on, but Mi. Williams should have had a touchdown catch. Run game looks solid, and I see Bryce Brown climbing the depth chart. Run game...when Spikes isn't out there, meh.
  24. Annnnnd Thad is going to be third string
