  1. i don't know what hackett hs against ej throwing deep. i really don't. even the threat of the deep pass changes things
  2. seriously, what do they have agianst throwing a deep bomb?
  3. seriously, what do they have agianst throwing a deep bomb?
  4. a. that was a bad play call b. screw you refs, that was a catch
  5. like many people, i am also mystified by the choice to not dial up any big throws. we know ej has the arm. even an incomplete stretches the field.
  6. ej looks rusty. and really i dont't love the playcalling
  7. IDK, I think we had too many problems to try fixing them all in one season. I don't think it's a mistake that almost all of our linebacking corps starters from last year were gutted. Now, this year, we have the money to hunt for the players that really can make us a complete team, plus another (hopefully) solid draft. I think we also have to say that, while the jury may still be out on EJ, I can't think of a better 2nd and 3rd round for the Bills in a long time Also, we knew what we were getting with Kolb. The man is going to get almost nothing, and now that the Bills have Thad, I really don't see Kolb winning even a 3rd QB spot.
  8. So long, farewell good sir. I can't bring myself to hate the man. He played hard when he was here, even in a system that was ultimately doomed to failure. But in the end, would I give him a roster spot over Woods? Hell no. Goodwin. Hell f ing no. Hogan? No. Easley...no. To be blunt, we've picked up new talent. Everything we might have used him for, we have someone better, and the things he's better at we no longer use. It's an issue of fit and I don't see paying all that much for someone who is realistically 4th WR on the depth chart (after Stevie, Woods, and Goodwin) and 4th on the QB chart (EJ, Lewis, Tuel)
  9. Kiko Alonso decided he wanted to play for the Buffalo Bills, but they didn't have enough picks. So he traveled back in time, forced Buddy Nix into a headlock and forced him to trade back for another 2nd round pick. ... Can you offer any other explanation why Buddy Nix would have traded back?
  10. Ehhh.... I mean, if we got him afforably you wouldn't see me complaining. But really? Between Lawson and SLB and Kiko becoming a rookie sensation at MLB, do we really need another Mario Williams? Granted. if we had a real master to replace Bradham, I'd be ok with that, but I feel like our biggest weaknesses lie elsewhere.
  11. I know it's basically reiterating everything that as already been said, but really, this current FA market has been about picking up very servisable players at reasonable prices. I was bullish on Lawson, and he has pretty much matched my expectations. Getting anything while getting rid of Sheppard was a boon, and the fact that Hughes is a pretty decent pass rusher is a boon. But seriously, I have to hand it to them for Leonard. With Byrd getting injured, and then Aaron Williams getting sent to CB, I think the man has done a remarkable job considering the expectation level. I would seriously consider keeping him over Seacry if we had to make cuts at safety. I look forward to the upcoming offseason, when the Bills will have effectively gotten rid of Fitz's cap hit and they have the chance to shop around for a really complete team. Yeah, I forgot this.. much like many OC's in the league. I swear, I don't think you can ask more for an undrafted rookie CB. He might be a designated slot player (I'd loathe seeing him outside) but when you have to face Amendola twice a year, and a lot of speedy slot WR the man is a beast.
  12. And he should be judged. But still, I would be crazy happy to see him back.
  13. You mean like the Panthers (3rd), Browns (5th), or Jet's (7th) in total defense, as opposed to the guys who allowed 33 points last week?
  14. I like. I really think the Bills are getting close. I might swap G for CB, but I think those are going to be the areas where the Bills really need an upgrade and can't realistically find an affordable fix in free agency. Chandler definitely has lost a step coming back from his injury, and that's not even counting the drops....
  15. I hope EJ, if he's healthy. He's been back to practice, is at the end of the original rehab prognosis Other than that (if EJ can't)...I'm torn. I honestly don't think Thad makes that 101 yard pick six. Then again, I don't see him playing the way Tuel did in the first three quarters other than those two horrible picks. Of course, Thad showed that he can rise up when it counts in the forth quarter, sending the Bengals game into OT and pulling out a win in Miami and Tuel suddenly couldn't play for **** once the forth quarter rolled around.
  16. First rounder? Heh, no. Knowing our luck at RB, would I like to see someone in the #3 spot who is better than Choice, and may one day supplant Freddy? Sure. Late round pick, or UDFA sounds like a lot of sense.
  17. Even if EJ is ready physically, I have to wonder if he would be mentally ready for the Jets game. He would have had a long stretch on inactivity, would have lost time on chemistry with his receivers and then would be going up against the defense that smacked him around for the worst game of his career the first time they met. In contrast, if he's held he would get an extra week with the bye to catch up and heal, and then go to play a team with the defense in the bottom half of the league instead of the top 5 and would be a better way to ease himself back before going against the Bucs and Jags (two of the worst teams in the league) I have a feeling that this might get a few sideways glances from people, but I think it had to be said. Of course, if EJ is injured anway, or somehow makes an early recovery to go against the Steelers, then that makes it a moot point.
  18. **Sorry, I realized it was already be discussed in another thread**
  19. Look, I don't think that anyone is saying Brady is bad. There's a reason his team is still the division leader, and it's because he's the strongest QB in the division. That said, I don't think that you can ignore that this is not the Brady we're used to seeing. Yes, he's lost a few people. But that didn't used to matter. It didn't matter when the Pats run game sucked, Brady was just that good. He's still good, and still a top 10 QB (at least), but injuries rack up. Remember Favre left Green Bay at 38 and people were talking about how he should retire with grace. He still played three more seasons, but he clearly wasn't the same man for the Jets and Vikings than he was for Green Bay. I doubt Brady plans to retire, but I think that within a few years he will, right around the time Tannehill, EJ and Geno will have a few years of seasoning.
  20. I'm sorry. I don't usually like to harp on this, but seriously? The pass rush gets hands to the chest, the moment the ball gets released? Roughing the passer? McKelvin intercepts the ball in the end zone? Mario gets held, and as a result has an off angle that causes to him to hit the wrong spot? Facemask. I hope NO used their FEMA money well on this game. Yes, I know this is petty, and that the Bills likely would have lost all the same but I'm pissed.
  21. cosistant? look, no one plays perfectly each week. the phins came up with a way to stop mario for four quarters, but he found a way to beat them and it came at just the right time. plus, he's one of the top five sack leaders. just stop.
  22. the strip was huge, and should count as a sack. honestly, between sacking tanehill to get him out of field goal range and getting the strip, he easily is the most valuble player for the day.
  23. Agreed. To me, most of the problems we saw in the last two weeks weren't safety play, it's that we were down Gilmore, McKelvin and Brooks, and were asking Rodgers to be #1. In the Jets game we sent over Aaron Williams back to CB where he hadn't practiced full time since last season. Gilmore and McKelvin coming back would appear to be more impactful.
