  1. for those of us who can't listen, can you let us know what marrone said. o-line is still my biggest worry right now.
  2. I hate the man, but our guard situation looks attrocious right now. I held off during the offseason, but now seeing what our O-line looks like...
  3. We already have good replacements for Branch. That's why he was considered a cut candidate even more his DUI. But honestly, I'm wondering if we can have worse tight ends right now.
  4. i'm at your work, so i'll take your word for it ptr. again i'm defending ej overall, which is more than you can say about the o-line saturday. i only saw one or two bad throws, and a lot of the rest was many of his skills players letting him down, and bad penalties.i'm hoping some time with everyone back on the o-line helps them gel by week 1.
  5. fair enough. but the point remains. the ball was thrown slightly behind, but spiller did a bad job reeling it in, and i'm putting the main blame on him rather than ej.
  6. ever since the first preseason game i've been worried about the o-line. saturday did very to make me feel better. i'll be the first to admit, ej made mistakes, notably just throwing a terrible pass on the woods slant. he was behind on the pass to cj that was intercepted. but a lot of the woes were because of other concerns. the o-line was battered, and even glenn got called an penalties, which wiped away great plays and killed drives. chandler falling down while making a cut reminded me why i wanted us to draft a real tight end. cj has always had ball security issues, and even if the ball was late he should have held onto it. the offense was an unmitigated failure but it wasn't one player. it was everybody.
  7. i'm sorry, but what the fcking **** refs. one, that was a bull **** illegal contact call, two...you wait until they are lining up a punt before you decide to give a !@#$ing ****
  8. damn it crossman, don't you have your 'core special teamers'
  9. i'm a glass half full ej fan, and that a damn awful first quarter
  10. You're fcking me with that second holding call
  11. good read, horrible pass. that's on ej. also, can we get a go route up in here
  12. put in fred. we need some north south running
  13. come on hackett, let ej rip a few out
  14. what the hell kind of playcalling was that
  15. rex assumed that ej did not have the arm strength or accuracy to beat his team deep. either a. rex made a major miscalculation, in which case we can admit that he is not always a prefect almighty defensive coach who completely thrashes our offensive coordinators or b. ej is a shockingly good qb who completely outplayed expectations. i am ok with either conclusion.
  16. So...you're saying that in adverse weather conditions, EJ Manuel throw back to back nigh perfect long balls in a way that boggled the expectations of one of the best defensive coaches in the game. I need to save that...
  17. Yeah, it is looking like it has't improved much from last year, where it was pretty terrible. It's worth noting that Rex relies a lot on man to man coverage. RE: Rex schooling Hackett... I seem to recall Rex giving a single deep safety to challenge EJ to throw deep. EJ throws a beauty to Graham, who barely gets in. Rex wastes a challenge, sends the same formation on the field and Goodwin torches Cromartie for a TD the very next play. Please correct me if I am wrong here.
  18. I can't really dispute this, and i am a fan of his. he does usually take some time to get going, even in the games where i think he has played well.
  19. i don't know about that. the eagles have problems on defense, but they just mowed down the pittsburgh d and may be the only team that looks to have a better run game than us. eli is really not a good fit for the new system they have there. good for us!
  20. not for me. the only way i, living in the philly area, can watch the game is at a bar with anchor bar wings and labatt on draft...so yeah, heaven.
  21. yeah. heisman trophy winners who have one really good season never wash out. if the bills ever got one, they'd easily be super bowl champions. right doug flutie and matt leinhart?
  22. i need to keep wondering, having seen a pretty damn good showing by the front 7, why are people so down on schwartz
  23. i think a lot of it is that a lot of the things said about buffalo can be said about the jets and miami. the jets have a solid d, a power running game and a promising 2nd year qb making strides. the dolphins started red hot, and still had a shot at the playoffs even with their horrible o-line situation. the patriots sent brady out with scrubs and he still kicked ass. the only thing i can weigh in with is that i think the bills had better young talent to develop off last year, made some very nice aquisitions in fa that seem to have adressed problems, and seem to have two stud rookie starters on offense, as well as backups who are likely to see some significant contribution. qb play, wide receiver, cornerback depth, possibly o-line play if the last shuffle works and what looks like a possibly devestating run defense...oh, wait, you werent looking for an actual answer.
