I think we had a lot more input into the decision to cancel the game than has necessarily been reported.

The Bills also made the decision to not play the deciding game. Of course I'm not advocating they should have done anything differently. But I do think the solution they implemented is as about as fair as it could have been.

KC also lost the possibility of hosting the AFC Championship game, which they would have done if we had lost to Cinci (certainly a possibility) and which should have happened according to the rules that were in place. Buffalo, KC and Cinci can all feel like they lost something with the solution that was implemented, which to me indicates it's about as fair as it could have been.

Can we get this thread title updated, it's a bit misleading and I keep forgetting and checking to see where the game is going to be played.

I agree with everything, except I choose to be pissed off about the loss to the Vikings, mostly because I sat through it in person and it kind of ruined my birthday weekend.

Not only that, but if we played the bye week while the NFC played (as had been proposed), we would potentially give the AFC an extra bye for the playoffs, then lose out on our bye before the Super Bowl while the NFC got to keep it.

It's nationally televised, prime time refers to a specific time slot.

Except we would potentially put ourselves at a bigger disadvantage by effectively giving the rest of the conference a bye while we played that week (especially in the event we didn't win, which has to at least be considered.)

1PM on a Sunday is certainly not a primetime game I also don't really care, but c'mon, words have meanings.

Understood that there is no source, I tend to believe they wouldn't have included it as pure speculation, but could be. I'd also say if you asked the locker room, there would be at least a large handful of players (my guess would be a majority, but it's just a guess) that would choose to not replay it and stay the 2 seed (especially considering not having to play in KC.) Yes, we lost the chance for the 1 seed, we also pretty easily could have wound up as the 3 seed and had to play in Cinci (again) and KC, while giving KC and the rest of the AFC an extra bye week.

I think part of the reason Bills / Bengals wasn't made up is because the players didn't want it made up (especially the Bills.)

I really hope we look to sign Jamaal Williams this offseason. That dude is fantastic AND fun.

But that's not the proposal that was approved The reasoning is that the Bills and Cinci played the same number of games, and Buffalo won more of them. Anyway the Bills and Cinci most likely will only be playing in the Divisional game, not the championship game.
