  1. Wow... Lee Evans isn't fit to sniff Mike Wallace's jock, even though he may like to. For the record, I don't think paying a 2nd WR $7-8 mil/year is in the Bills best interest, but Wallace is nearly uncoverable in the right offense. He can run any route and has excellent hands. Lee Evans could run one route, and that's why his NFL may be over.
  2. Didn't Garrard refuse to sign with Miami in-season last year?
  3. Make it 7: Robert Gallery. Michael Lombardi ‏ @michaelombardi So to recap correctly, Laron Landry has agreed to a contract with the NY Jets and the Pats agreed with offensive lineman Robert Gallery
  4. Did the logo definitively originate with the Howard Bison?
  5. I thought it might be interesting to look at the list of NE's highest cap numbers--- it's not like the Pats don't tie up big money with individual players. Would you rather have Mario Williams at a $16,000,000 cap hit or Jerod Mayo at $9,333,120? Brady, Tom QB $15,208,120 Welker, Wes WR $9,515,000 Mayo, Jerod LB $9,333,120 Wilfork, Vince DT $8,608,120 Light, Matt OL $8,000,000 Mankins, Logan OL $7,000,000 Ochocinco, Chad WR $4,683,333 Gostkowski, Stephen K P/K $3,008,120 http://nyjetscap.com/Patriots/patriots2012.php
  6. I think they'd like to see how this season pans out before they commit longterm to one or the other. FWIW, I picked this up from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Ed Bouchette, who usually has a pretty good read on the Steelers: One thing the Steelers will not do is pay two receivers an average of 7 to 8 million dollars a year, so if they determine Brown is the player who should get that then Wallace will be elsewhere in 2013. However, if they give the money to Wallace right now then they will have determined that he indeed is that player. http://plus.sites.post-gazette.com/index.php/pro-sports/steelers/115409-ed-wallaces-options-may-be-down-to-one
  7. Oh yeah, I didn't mean the Bills, specifically--- but to any WR hungry team with cap space. The Steelers wouldn't pay 2 WRs $7-8mil/year, which is part of their issue with paying Wallace right now. They're not sure if they want to make Wallace or Antonio Brown their #1 big money guy. I don't think the Bills would ever consider paying 2 WRs that kind of money, either. Bill Brooks and Quinn Early were not particulatly bad signings, I'm not sure what problem you'd have with either of them. In any event, neither Brooks nor Early are even in the same league as Mike Wallace, IMHO.
  8. Wouldn't you draft him in the first round today, though, even at age 26? You know what you're getting and if any WRs are worth $10mil/year, Mike Wallace is one of them.
  9. I stopped reading here... and not due to poor grammar.
  10. ESPN's AFC East blogger, James Walker, tweeted this earlier after Flynn signed in Seattle: James Walker ‏ @espn_afceast I know it's just a coincidence. But ever since Mario Williams signed with Buffalo, Miami’s QB search has gone haywire. #JustSaying
  11. Based on what I see on the field, I'm all in on Floyd. If Nix/Whaley/Gailey/et al decide his off the field issues, maturity, and health are acceptable then I trust them. I wonder if he's fully committed to learning the craft of NFL WR. Nix and Gailey seem to have consistently targeted players that truly love the game and have leadership qualities in the draft, FA, and in the roster players they elected to keep. I do like this paragraph from CBS Sports' NFL Draft Countdown report--- it sounds like the perfect fit for our offense: Route running: Needs to tighten up his routes, but has the quick feet and balance to cut or come back to the ball. Should excel in a West Coast or timing-type of offense. Lined up at every receiver position to take advantage of the best matchup. Solid threat on slants, shallow crosses and in the red zone. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1633109
  12. Alex Smith and Reggie Bush were teammates in high school. I think in 2012 the Dolphins will resemble a high school team in more ways than one.
  13. Are the Pats now definitely not signing Lloyd? NFL Network indicated earlier this afternoon that a deal between Lloyd and the Pats was essentially in place.
  14. That's right. One his tweets says a fan sent it to him and he liked it.
  15. Reading Mario's twitter feed has been enlightening--- he really seems to be having fun interacting with Bills' fans and Texans' fans. He just seems like a good dude that's happy as hell: Julio Vazuez ‏ @Spliffone @bbwolf90 You are the biggest signing in Buffalo history and thanks for bringing us something to cheer about! Mario Williams ‏ @bbwolf90 @Spliffone thank you all you guys cheer ur ass off we will play ours off in return!
  16. Ralph speaks: http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/article765665.ece Why spend big now? "I'd like to see us make the playoffs and possibly the Super Bowl while I'm around," the 93-year-old Wilson said. "I don't expect to be around that many years." Wilson said he did not consider the signing any change in philosophy for him. This was the right time, he said, to make a big deal because he thinks the team is not many pieces away from being a contender. "Yes that's right, I feel like we're not that far away," Wilson said. "We owe it to Buffalo, the fans in Western New York and everybody to make the move. And let's get going." Wilson said he had no hesitation in going after Williams, despite the big cost, when General Manager Buddy Nix pitched the idea. "I didn't give a darn about the money," Wilson said. "I can't take the money with me. The money had nothing to do with it. Buddy figured out how much it would take to get him. He put the price on, and we went from there."
  17. He just said: Terrell Owens. #ImJustSaying
  18. Arizona was the only team that brought Bell in for a visit, correct? I don't think I've heard his name attached to any other teams, and Scouts.com does not list him as the top available OT, according to ESPN. According to Gailey, he and Nix will have a discussion tomorrow morning about where the team stands salary cap wise, and they'll approach the remainder of free agency from there. I'm curious if Bell will respond to the Bills' offer now that his only suitor has re-signed Brown plus the hoopla surrounding Mario Williams.
  19. I thought Sal does have a weekday nightly slot from 6-9pm on non-Sabres game nights?
  20. Great read on the signing from Yahoo Sports--- details somewhat just what the heck was going on behind closed doors the past few days: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=dw-wetzel_mario_williams_buffalo_bills_free_agency_031512
  21. Yes, but they're Mike Williams #68 jerseys being returned unsold.
  22. He's due at One Bills Drive within the hour, according to WGR.
  23. Now Jim Kelly's wife tweets, about an hour ago: "Jill Kelly ‏ @HJKforever #GoBills #thankYouGod #thatisall"
  24. Who is Rex? Is he a twitter guy? What's his twitter name?
