  1. If the list of 'locks' is as follows, then could the Bills keep both Easley and Martin (for special teams work) totalling 7 WRs? 7 seems like a slightly unmanageable number: Stevie Nelson Jones Graham Hagan Easley Martin
  2. As with San Jose Bills Fan, I'm very interested in several players that I've been high on from previous drafts--- particularly WRs from this past year: Stephen Hill, Michael Floyd, Brian Quick, the NY Giants' Reuben Randle & David Douglas et al, as well as Washington QB Kirk Cousins (although I'm sure he won't see the field barring injury), Jake Locker and Ryan Tannehill. I'm also very interested in Tampa Bay rookie RB Doug Martin (I'm pretty convinced he'll be a surprise fantasy football stud this year) and the Giants' Wilson.
  3. I agree--- Easley looked to grab passes thrown to him with authority, IMHO. He looked as aggressive in the Redskins game as he has in the training camp highlights I've seen or as he did working with the 1st team in preseason last year. I'd like to see him get more 1st team reps this preseason before I give up on him.
  4. Did Derrick Dockery and Langston Walker help him tape his fingers with double sided tape?
  5. I was being far too generous by implying the receivers would actually be catching passes. At the very least I should've added an asterisk!
  6. The Jags receiving corps is pretty interesting but limited: Justin Blackmon, Laurent Robinson, Mike Thomas and Brian Robiskie but beyond that are only rookies and special teamers-- of course, there's also Marcedes Lewis at TE. It may not matter who's catching the ball considering they're entering Year 2 of the Blaine Gabbert Era.
  7. It's possibly due to the fact that Bell hasn't quite yet acclimated himself to the Philly system--- or maybe he just isn't that good. http://www.cbssports.com/general/blog/nfl-rapidreports/19776599/eagles-promote-king-dunlap-over-demetress-bell-at-lt
  8. Mario said they were running their base run defense which is where Kelsay excels--- I'd imagine Anderson will be rotated in on mostly but not exclusively passing downs.
  9. Based solely on actually watching Maybin play (well into the 4th quarter) tonight, I can't see how it's possible he makes the Jets final roster. He looks exactly the same as he did with the Bills: taking a severely wide angle trying to speed rush the LT and getting pushed effortlessly aside, completely swallowed up on running plays, exhibiting no instincts on how to play the ballcarrier--- he was the defensive equivalent of a RB dancing in the hole with how indecisive he was on how and when to approach the runner. When the play went to the opposite side he took a sharp 45degree angle toward the sideline, taking himself dramatically out of the play as if he were a safety trying to cutoff a receiver in the open field. I honestly don't think I've seen that in an NFL game before. He literally didn't even come close to making a single play, and he was on the field for most of the game--- that's with getting single blocked all night by Cincinatti's 1st, 2nd and 3rd string LTs. I don't know what else to say. If he weren't so bizarrely arrogant I guess I wouldn't really care but it's fascinating to watch. So much for the training camp reports.
  10. That would be my expectation/fear as well in regards to getting shortshrift on events--- but as for the ceremonies, I think the logical solution would be to have one city host the opening ceremony and the other host the closing ceremony. Or, have the opening/closing ceremonies in both cities. I don't see this getting much further beyond the spitballing phase, but I kind of like the sound of The Olympic Bridge.
  11. After reading some posts from the Kick is Good I reflected a bit on the Bills' Wall fo Fame and realized, even after seeing his name for so many years, I had no idea who Pat McGroder was. This article from Buffalo Rumblings explains his major contribution to the existence of the Bills in Buffalo and proves he's a worthy addition: http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2010/9/4/1658230/september-4-1985-mcgroder-joins The next time you attend a game at the Ralph, starting tonight, gaze up at Mr. McGroder's name and tip a cold one to him.
  12. Actually, this is exactly what happened on multiple occasions. You're repeating the same diatribe over and over again as if it is inarguable gospel truth while avoiding/ignoring many salient points made by multiple posters. Yes, his numbers were pedestrian, and pointing out other pedestrian numbers by players on mediocre defenses doesn't really make much sense. They were pedestrian because they were mostly in garbage time--- in crunch time he was invisible. I realize you feel sorry for the guy because of his personal tragedy but that doesn't make him a good football player. Is it really shocking that his coaches and teammates are saying good things? Seriously? Rex is talking up Tebow, too. Is Tebow the 21st Century Johnny Unitas? I've heard glowing training camp reports from teammates and coaches about Naaman Roosevelt but I bet he gets cut. I don't hate the guy, but I dislike him for being a big mouthed punk, and one that fits in perfectly with the Jets and their fan base. I'm sorry for what he went through, but having limited success as a situational pass rusher with little to no football skills doesn't deserve a parade. I wouldn't be surprised if he has some success whilst further being isolated by the Jets coaching staff in favorable situations (which is smart) this season but I don't think I'd martyr myself over it the way posters have done for Trent Edwards and Chris Kelsay in recent years. Now please, repeat again how little time he had to prepare and the Bills individual sack leaders since 2009 and blah blah blah. You and Rex are alone on this crusade.
  13. I didn't realize having "a life outside this board" affected vision and reading comprehension.
  14. I agree 100%. And maybe one day the Jets will sign one because they don't currently have one on their roster.
  15. No matter how difficult the circumstances were, I do find it a little difficult to respect him after he quit an NFL head coaching position. How can a HC preach mental toughness and character to his players when his method of handling diversity was to bail? I know a few Falcons fans who are glad he's no longer their offensive coordinator but I'm not totally sure what that tells us. Blackmon just agreed to terms about an hour ago, BTW.
  16. We may be at a disadvantage here, as I've actually long suspected Brady is the type that can "get off inside of two seconds" In all seriousness, I happen to think the Bills match up extraordinarily well with the Pats after this offseason and I'm anxious to see it all play out on the field. I'm particularly curious to see how Gilmore is used against NE's receivers--- will he exclusively cover Gronk, Hernandez or Welker? Or will he be moved around? Using the Super Bowl Giants as a kind of template, I firmly believe the Bills have altered the chemistry of the AFC East.
  17. Do the Bills have Tom Brady, Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski, Brandon Lloyd, and Aaron Hernandez? I'm honestly optimistic we can take the AFC East, but it's not quite that cut and dried.
  18. I don't disagree with much of what you wrote, but repeating this meme doesn't make it more meaningful. They're pedestrian numbers accumulated as a situational player on a talented defense--- the Bills defense overall has been LESS THAN pedestrian since approximately 2005 or 2006, so it's a small wonder they haven't produced better individual stats. Maybin was drafted to be a difference maker, and although his draft position is not his fault, he clearly needs to be surrounded by difference makers in order to be effective. More power to him if he can carve out an NFL career but a better comparison than Derrick Thomas might be a poor man's Dexter Manley. Thomas had astute football intelligence whereas Maybin has exhibited none.
  19. What preparation does he need to line up on the outside and rush the passer?? The article clearly says "he rushed the quarterback on 94.9 percent, or 185, of his 195 passing plays last season, the most among regular 3-4 outside linebackers". I wonder if, say, Stephon Gilmore could accumulate 6 sacks in a season if Wanny lined him up on the outside and had him run around the tackle in numerous 3rd and forever scenarios where we were protecting a late lead? I also wonder if he can A) keep the weight on, for the first time in his career and B) if he can keep the weight, maintain his quickness.
  20. According to the article, his teammates refer to him as "Microphone" due to his loud mouth--- I wonder if it's intended as an insult?
  21. Ryan Lochte was born in Rochester but I think he moved to Florida as a kid.
  22. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Mesler Steve Mesler in the 2010 Winter Games.
  23. One of his favorite books is "The Secret"? For !@#$'s sake...
  24. Maybe this Summer Olympics, but not the first ever.
  25. Teambuilding exercises and classy gestures are not the reasons Mike Mularkey is a ****ty head coach. I doubt either instance came at the expense of game preparation.
