  1. Yeah, he was drafted by the Pats--- looking back, he actually played pretty well for some very bad teams. By the standards of the day, he was considered a bust and his Super Bowl seasons and SB MVP years (atarting at age 33!) with the Raiders were looked upon as a Phoneix-like rebirth, which on it's face, seemed to be what the OP was looking for. I still think Plunkett is a very good example of Bust-to-Star (although his bust status ultimately hinges on the fact that he played for very bad teams in NE and SF). I'm not certain it matters whether he was traded or cut, IMHO.
  2. This is probably the best possible example.
  3. This is definitely true--- it's possible Trent Edwards may have developed into what Bill Walsh envisioned he would be had he been brought up properly on a better team. The concussions alone may have permanently stunted his growth, something he might not have encountered in, say, Minnesota. There are Browns' coaches from the Tim Couch era that hold to this day that he should have been a great NFL QB, if only he weren't so horribly mismanaged by a franchise in utter disarray. Who knows what might've been.
  4. Possibly also Vinny Testaverde, another Buc draft pick. the bust was in the fact the Steelers cut him. He was drafted in the 9th round (then the 102nd overall), not sure there were a lot of expectations for him to be a stud. Incidentally, the Steelers also released Jack Kemp around that time.
  5. Is 'tennesseeboy' on your driver's license?
  6. I'm not sure what this means, there's no secret formula to observing what they've done on the field or looking up stats.
  7. I'm sure it's pretty clear that I'm not making that comparison. Spiller's meager production thus far in the NFL grossly outweighing Maybin's is not really a debate unless you're blind or ignorant. I'm sure you're accustomed to people on the Internet thinking you're stupid so try not to let it bother you.
  8. Back what up? Maybin has produced literally nothing, which I said in the original post. I also said Spiller hasn't produced much... but with a few highlight reel type positive plays Spiller by comparison has shown much more. In other words, you're both blind and willfully ignorant, which everyone here already knows.
  9. When someone says "1,000 times more" they're using hyperbole for "a lot". If you can't see that Spiller has shown much more than Maybin then you're either blind or being willfully ignorant.
  10. Spiller hasn't produced much in the NFL, but he's still already produced 1,000 times as much as Maybin and you know it.
  11. Boston/New England Patriots and Raiders, not Chiefs.
  12. That serves as a cold icy dagger to my already broken heart.
  13. That's a good point, and I agree. Nix and Gailey don't seem the type to suffer fools, though, so I wouldn't mind if they took a chance only to cut ties if it didn't work out. It's a gamble, and one more than likely not worth it.
  14. The only way I'd be interested is if the Bills used a 4th or later and converted him to WR/TE, as Tim Graham responded to a Twitter follower. He was totally unimpressive as a passer, in every way, but his athletic gifts are undeniable.
  15. According to an interview he did a few years ago, he grew up a Colts fan. He only lived in Jamestown until 1971, when he was 12-13 years old. Either way, !@#$ him.
  16. ByTimGraham Tim Graham Bills, Dolphins, Colts, Raiders, Bengals interested in Terrelle Pryor sez @AdamSchefter ByTimGraham Tim Graham @ Absolutely. A raw athlete with possibilities. But @ what cost? RT @glazeduck any chance teams like buffalo are looking at Pryor as a wr? TE? SportsCenter clip
  17. Unfortunately, everything you've just described is hard work... especially that last part. The proliferation of lazy reporting/blogging is also making discerning readers a less frequent commodity.
  18. From Merriman's Twitter account: "To answer your question guys im disappointed by a story that was written by a Buffalo writer regarding a routine stop at the Canadian border a few weeks ago. To clarify, there was Absolutely NO steroids found in my vehicle & there were NO charges against me. I've received a great welcome by the community and fans. I've worked my butt off to have a great season."
  19. What would Jauron have done with Vick, anyhow? Vick said one of the things he loves about playing for the Eagles is that the offense is suited to his skills and style, allowing him to play how he wants. Remember what Turk said about Jauron's over simplified "pop gun" offense?
  20. According to Tim Graham, the "true talent evaluators" that wanted Vick were Dick Jauron and John Guy.
  21. Graham's source is not with the Bills, according to a twitter comment posed to Jeremy White a few minutes ago.
  22. It's funny, though, that the 49ers cut Gibson shortly after they expressed interest in signing... Aaron Maybin.
  23. Moran is not a professional so he need not adhere to journalism ethics. He's an Internet douche that lives under Douche Blog Law. On the surface, by saying there was no arrest it sounds as though it implies an incident did indeed occur that did not result in an arrest. I guess it's possible there is simply no arrest record, though. He didn't make it clear if that's the case.
  24. This means something happened, right? If Sal has heard there was no arrest but "cannot corroborate" anything else, he is kind of admitting there was indeed some incident.
