  2. Really looking forward to watching Preston Brown develop. I'm not sure what his ceiling is, but what a great rookie season.
  3. Call me optimistic, but this team was something like 26th in the league in total offense, so I like the thought of some new blood.
  4. That should be their concern, but -- pure speculation here -- concerts, basketball, college bowl game, soccer, supercross, monster trucks, wrestling, et al would all be considered. Not sure how those things would affect what the arena already offers, but typically new, high-profile facilities can attract those things ahead of a 20-year-old arena. Let's not forget that it won't be solely about the stadium. I'm guessing any new facility would be a mecca of sorts for downtown tradeshows, meetings, conferences and the like. The Ralph hosts events maybe 10 weekends a year.
  5. Because you're limiting usage opportunties. For the most bang for the buck, you want to bring in revenue producers more than 8-10 times a year like the Ralph.
  6. I loved the red ones, but have to admit the whites have grown on me. I'm fine with either color, as long as they stick with a gray or white facemask. The blue facemasks were atrocious.
  7. In Charlotte, my boss walked into my office laughing and shaking his head first thing Monday morning.
  8. Bo Jackson Warren Moon Charles Woodson Jerry Rice Randall Cunningham
  9. Missed that in your first post. Still, tell that to Lane Kiffin.
  10. Beyond the fumble, what's wrong with Brown again? Isn't Ingram hurt a lot?
  11. On the other hand, people who believe in freedom. Seriously though, promotions are subjective. Although it's a lateral move in terms of title, going from OC in Jacksonville to OC in Seattle would be a promotion in my book. Also, coaches want, and should have the right to, their own hand-picked staffs.
  12. Over/under on the times we hear "tempo" is 30.
  13. I never really felt McGee got the credit he deserved. Always played hard and maybe the best, most inventive kick returner I ever saw.
  14. I agree if you're talking about a columnist, like Sullivan, but I have to say being a beat reporter is a miserable, depressing, thankless, lonely and oftentimes difficult job. It's like having to watch the same TV show 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The News is owned by Warren Buffett, it's in good shape, and I assume Sullivan has a job for life because people are always talking about him.
  15. I don't see this correlation between interviewing lots of people and not knowing what you're doing. I keep seeing this. Can somebody explain it to me?
  16. To be clear, I'm relating him to Chan only in an uninspiring-journeyman-coach sort of way. I don't think the Bills should make a splash simply to make a splash -- they need to get the right person for the job -- but David Cutcliffe would just continue the string of "meh" choices that have occurred over the last decade. To me.
  17. He's a little Chan-ish for me. There's no doubt he's a good coach, and if the Bills somehow got Eli, sure, but he's not exactly an inspiring choice.
  18. I appreciate these four posters, in no order, and for no real reason: Dr. Dareustein Cash JR in Pittsburgh Eball
  19. Normally, sure. But why the hell not at this point. Get to know lots of people. Get the right person. If we get beat on a hire, OK.
  20. God I hope the Lions pull this off if only for the Jerruh reaction shots.
  21. Noticed that too. This thing is unraveling so oddly.
  22. It wasn't a mugging, but it definitey should have been a penalty -- especially after you've already thrown the flag. BS.
