  1. I don't care what anybody says. This is a great move, especially with the money. Plus, he'll be playing in a contract year. Well, there you go folks, that's how you putt asses back in seats.
  2. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/07/to-in-buffalo/
  3. I'm not a blog hater, but things like this is what makes them utterly useless. Real journalists don't release stories until they're confirmed. Hell, real journalists don't write about rumors. Damn amateurs!
  4. Just a reminder to set your DVRs for 10 p.m. tonight for the NFL Network series "America's Game: This Missing Rings" which tonight spotlights the '90 Bills. Try not to cry. If you don't have the NFL Network, that blows. Edit: Just realized this has already been posted. My bad.
  5. Reasons for Bills fans to be optimistic this week: 1.) The Raiders' passing game is downright putrid. 2.) The Kiffin-Davis soap opera is a distraction. 3.) The Raiders' run game is beat up, with McFadden (turf toe) and Fargas (out) sporting injuries. 4.) Stroud is likely to show Gallery how the game of football is played. (Actually, their entire offensive line is average at VERY best.) 5.) The Bills are at home. 6.) Lynch will want to beat on the team he grew up with. Reasons for Bills fans to be pessimistic this week: 1.) The Bills haven't won a Week 3 game since 1999. 2.) The Raiders' defense is no joke. Don't let the game against Denver fool you. They have talent and have proved it over the past few seasons. 3.) The Raiders will throw the kitchen sink. They have nothing to lose. Except more meaningless games. 4.) Nice week for a letdown. I can't think of any more. Plus I have to go to work. Bills 17, Raiders 16
  6. It could be pink and it would always be No. 1.
  7. Good to see the Bills with a top-five defense. http://www.nfl.com/stats/team Now, for my bi-weekly pointless post, I'll rank the NFL's helmets from coolest to lamest. Only doing this because the Bills are playing the Raiders this week, and the Raiders' helmet is damn cool. Plus, it's Tuesday. Let's have fun. 1.) Bills -- Amazing. 2.) Browns -- Simple class. Less is more here. 3.) Raiders -- Timeless badass. 4.) Bengals -- Always liked this helmet for some reason, though it's slipping. 5.) Redskins -- Tradition. Clean. 6.) Chargers -- Simple. Perfect. 7.) Bears -- See above. 8.) Cowboys -- A lone star in the Lone Star State. Nice. 9.) Packers -- You can't rank anything without having the Pack in the top 10. 10.) Buccaneers -- Not bad, but loved the old helmet. 11.) Steelers -- You can't rank anything without having the Steelers outside the top 10. 12.) Chiefs -- Props for not changing. 13.) Colts -- Clean. Simple. 14.) 49ers -- Acceptable. 15.) Giants -- Prefered the "GIANTS" script, but this isn't terrible. 16.) Falcons -- Preferred the red. 17.) Cardinals -- Simple tradition, not bad, though it looks like a high school logo. 18.) Lions -- I like the fact that it's not crazy. 19.) Seahawks -- Silver was much better. But who cares. 20.) Vikings -- Helmet's not bad. Takes away from the fact they're wearing purple. 21.) Rams -- Probably better than the old one. Not great though. 22.) Ravens -- AFL. 23.) Saints -- Love black and gold, don't love these helmets. 24.) Eagles -- Shouldn't have changed. 25.) Panthers -- Looks like the Jaguars'. 26.) Jaguars -- Looks like the Panthers'. 27.) Patriots -- Although Pat the Patriot would have been much higher. 28.) Broncos -- Old helmet was better. 29.) Jets -- Turning back the clock didn't make it cool. 30.) Texans -- Eeesh, that's ugly. 31.) Dolphins -- I'm not a homophobe, but that helmet is queer. 32.) Titans -- Gross. What are your cool helmets?
  8. It might just be the open-field tackles and the number, but today he reminded my a lot of Winfield.
  9. Any early word on how banged up the Bills are? I haven't heard anything, but have my fingers crossed. I didn't hear much from Royal down the stretch. Forgive me if I should know, but my audio feed would cut out for three or four minutes at a time throughout the game. Edit: I just read no injuries were reported. Good.
  10. No love in Charlotte: BUFFALO at JACKSONVILLE: Three hot trends: The Jonas Brothers. Drag-racing in Charlotte. The Bills as the new AFC power. Trends aren't for everyone: Jaguars 29, Bills 23. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/panthers/story/186527.html
  11. OK, I know by Wednesday I should have turned the focus to this week's opponent, but I can't help but bring this up. I didn't notice it Sunday because I was screaming my head off at the time, but did you notice how utterly apathetic Ron Pitts was during Roscoe's return? There was no additional excitement needed, but jeez. I know I'm biased, but give me a little more, Ronny! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYFN3WyS0uM
  12. The Jaguars at home in September (don't tell me about '03) are going to be a tough, tough out. Still, if the Bills' defense plays like it did Sunday, I like our chances. Six is probably about right.
  13. http://www.dwhitner20.com/ is the only one I know offhand. I'm sure there are more.
  14. I was one of the idiots who was pissed during the 2006 draft when Oakland took Michael Huff a pick before the Bills, so the Bills couldn't get him. We know Whitner's already a team leader and solid safety, but my God, did anybody see tonight's Broncos-Raiders game? Huff looked BRU-TAL. (Side note: Robert Gallery looks much better hidden on the interior as a guard. A bust a tackle, but could be solid as a guard.)
  15. This is all you need to know about the Seahawks. About six or seven years ago I was looking through team fan sites for whatever reason, and their entire site was built around their superstar quarterback Warren Moon. Moon, mind you, hadn't played for the team in like three or four years or something ridiculous. That, and I barely remembered the fact that he even played for Seattle. So that has been the joke of choice between my friends and I whenever anybody brings up the Seahawks. Yeah, they're huge fans, so leave them alone. Check out my Gale Gilbert site. Seattle was relevent one season. Kind of.
  16. Things exist west of the Mississippi? Weak. Bills 27, Seahawks 24.
  17. I wish the league would partner with the cable companies to offer pay-per-view games. Obviously the league is happy with Direct TV, which I can't get (damn signal!). And why offer streaming games only on Sunday nights and only on NBC? I just wish they would find a way to get more games to more people.
  18. I can't tell whether or not you realize this just a lampoon piece. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Nonetheless, the entire thing wasn't that funny. Go Bills.
  19. Where's everybody going for the game? I can't get Sunday Ticket, so I'll be forced to go out. Big Al's in Cornelius, anybody?
